There was a dinosaur doctor like that at my hospital that I work at (not necessarily old, just VERY outdated methods). We kept having to take care of patients with bad post op complications that should not be happening that often. I'm not sure what happened with the doctor, but we stopped getting their patients anymore...

She wasn’t calling Dr Campbell a dinosaur because she looks old, she just uses outdated methods for her surgeries and refuses to expand her knowledge and try out the more modern surgical methods.

I feel like people who give Derek shit for this episode are asses themselves. I'm glad you see that those 3 things would send anyone into a spiral, but yeah, losing his patient, particularly this one, sent him over the edge. He's been really optimistic about her, and he really wanted to save her because her and her husband's love for one another. I love McSteamy, and I'm literally his number 1 fan, but he's been a terrible friend to Derek. He spends more time lying to him than actually being a great friend. Mark should've put his foot down before he started a sexual relationship with Lexie, saying he was going to date her and take their relationship seriously. Hopefully, they get through this because they do have a cute little bromance. Derek is an asshole yes but this episode, I think he had a right to be upset.

McDreamy a McMurderer? No, just a McFixated McAss with a patient that got to him & unable to McCope when everything went to McShit. McDreamy's still gonna be a McAss for a while tho'. Certainly among the finest of the MAGIC Era and really starting the ramp-up to the end of S5. One that will likely be remembered for several reasons, including of course Izzie's 'Patient X'.
