What if the future price goes above 500? Say it goes upto 600 at the day of expiry as per my bullish prediction. So I'll be incurring a loss of 100 Rs. in that short position. And a profit of 110 in my long position in cash. So there would be a profit of Rs.10. But for that I'll have to square off my long position in cash which I had taken for a long term perspective i.e. say 1-2 years.

Sir, hedging means if the price is falling down, then we have to take opposite position. We have to buy the shares. But, in this vedio u said that we have to go in a short position. Can you please explain?

If you hv purchased the stock (you hv already taken long position )and you are expecting that price will fall and i will suffer loss ,then for compensating such loss you opt for future contract where you can compensate your upcoming losses by taking short position i.e selling now and buy later because as you know that is falling so to take benifit through future in falling market you can do one thing i.e taking short position . Thats it.
