Hello sir, I am from science background. Recently I've entered share market. I understood what is stock, bond and debentures but was unable to understand derivatives. I have a doubt in question 16. Why ₹.8000 is taken as base to reach the future price of index instead of ₹.7960. In solution the price has been computed as ₹.7000 (8000-12.5%). Please reply.

What is beta of 0.8 in question and what is the role of this beta in answer. One more doubt. Beta of 1.2 is beta of stock A or Nifty index.

Hi, thank you for the great explanation. What does it mean when I have not a high correlation between change in spot price and change in future prices of two shares, but the hedge ratio is coming out to be high due to the difference in standard deviation in returns? The formula for Beta will have a change in prices, not percentage change.

Hello sir. I have a doubt. In question it is given as X months index futures trading at ₹x. And after X months they compare ₹x with adjusted ₹x with beta and %change. Generally we compute future price by multiplying current spot with %chnage and compare it with future contract price. So is there any other concept regarding Index futures?

If stock portfolio value is 1600000 then index portfolio should not be 1600000/1.2 ??? Since stock portfolio is 1.2 times the index portfolio
