I'm 63 and just trying to stay sober one day at a time ..When I start getting up in my head that I'm going to just give up , I start thinking about why I wanted to stop drinking , and just how rough those days were ..Then I make a list of what I am grateful for , and that seems to ease what I'm going through and I pray to God ..I just don't give in no matter how much I want to play the victim ; I'm actually not , and I'm the only one who can change that ..Going to AA meetings helps also ...

Was looking to learn some Ronnie Dove songs to play for 1 of his biggest fans in Baltimore. Ran across When did I get old. It struck a major chord in this over 60 TBI survivor. And I learned to do it in one sitting. Had a house fire and relocated. Now reside with Kid and her husband. Been diagnosed with a truck load of differnt things that eventually kill off the host. Wanted to come and let Derrick and the PeaceMakers Band know how much folks enjoy that song, when I introduce them to it. Everybody asks me the first time they hear it "Is that original?" My answer "Lol NOPE, but it sure does fit well." I remembered Rough Time and came back for another listen. Then went to Ultimate Guitar and found the chords. Because You boys have done it again! Who said lightening don't strike twice in the same old man? They was so wrong. And You guys just proved it! Thanks for a goodun that I can use to carry me through a lot of those "Rough Times" ahead.

Look up Jerry Marzinsky KZbins. He works with PTSD, anxiety disorders but found that the same thing chases away the little voices that we hear sometimes that are extremely negative. The people who he helps are typically highly medicated. They’ve been able to get free. It works if you carry it through. Mi returned to my faith not the religion and that truly is what Marzinsky is doing but not named as that and what a shame! Ppl need the whole hospital 🏥 not just a bandaid 🩹 with mental/emotional scars just like a busted appendix. We just can’t see what others hear, see to help. That’s faith! I say- call out to God directly after being in the pit.

Since I read your post I have felt the need to reply. YOU'RE NOT ALONE, EITHER! Thank you for your service! I remember what happened in Beirut with the terrorist attacks. I lost my first child just a few months prior. The day of the attack was 3 days prior to my birthday. I just want you to know that there are a lot of us that still remember what happened that horrible day!! I can't begin to imagine what you're going through. I pray you will reach a point that your mind will allow you to let go, I know your heart won't! I live less than 2 hours from Camp Lejeune! Always have the highest regards for our military and taught my children to respect and honor our service people. I don't know your story but I do know if you were there it had to be life altering!!! God bless you and know there are ordinary people that pray for you even as strangers. Hold your head high and look to the heavens!!!
