Absolutely. The core game gives you everything you need to go dungeon adventuring. It'll only take you a couple of games to decide if you and your buddies want to get the Road to Legend. .

@rawfriez Good plan. This style of game isn't for everyone so getting an idea what is involved before dropping a bunch of cash makes sense to me. Glad I could help.

Hi Zepik. I'd be interested in the list of discrepancies you've found. In regards to the 2 surges = 1 threat, that is stated on page 10 of the Journeys into the Dark rules under the heading: Using Power Surges (Overlord). Is there an errata or update that says differently? I'd love to see it. You're the second person to ask me about Sea of Blood. Although I don't have it, FantasyFlight has the rules on-line, so I should be able to figure it out. Thanks!

I know this is forever ago but I just ordered the core game and thinking about getting the road to legend so I ended up watching your videos. I have a few questions. Are the lieutenants just tokens like in the 2'nd edition? When you fight the avatar, is it also a token?

You are correct. It's just a token for both.

I found these videos extremely useful but I did find a couple discrepancies here and there. Such as the threat amount for the overlord rolling surges. It should be 2 threat per 2 surge. Not one. All in all they were really good and wish you had a set of videos outlining Sea of Blood since that is the campaign we are currently running, and all the new rules in regards to the seafaring aspects can get a bit confusing.

If I wanted to get into this game, would you recommend just buying the core Descent box first and trying it out, or is it worth going for the extra expense of getting The Road to Legend as well and playing a 'one-off' game using the expansion?
@Khorlith12 жыл бұрын
I suppose "out of print" makes is super expensive. We'll have to see if the second edition core rules are worth dropping another 80$. As far as I can tell, using the conversion kit, all first edition expansion are compatible with second, so there is that.

It's too bad this game goes for like $200+ now for the core set..
