griffin in taz: our capacity for love increases with each person we cross paths with throughout our lives and with each moment we spend with those people. but too often we neglect that part of ourselves in favor of others, and by the time we realize just how important it is, we find ourselves with fewer folks around to practice with. griffin in mbmbam: look at all your blood. it’s on the GROUND, where the DIRT LIVES

hercules jr removes all 5 blades easily because the pain of 5 blades being removed is nothing compared to the pain he felt discovering that evil hercules is his father. he prepares to use his mighty jumping legs to kame ha me ha ha his father into a different timeline when he blacks out due to blood loss. the lesson here kids is that 5 knives keeps the blood in the body. seek medical attention.

remember though, if you ever get stabbed, dont pull the weapon out or itll just bleed more than it already has. the best course of action is leaving it in until surgery, in which trained professionals will remove it without encouraging more bleeding.

ok I’m not a professional writer BUT if you want some Actual Advice with this question: show not tell is VERY important when writing pain, because while you can imagine senses (touch, taste, smell) and feelings (fear, happiness, grief) you can’t really imagine pain. Think of when you get hurt in a dream-you know you’re hurt but you can’t physically FEEL the pain So use other factors! instead of just talking about the white hot agony spreading like fire around a gunshot wound, talk about the blood loss, the dizziness, the way their legs start to give out and their breathing picks up. and while you CAN talk about pain in terms of pain alone, I find it MUCH more effective to include outside sources as well. it gives the reader a MUCH more vivid image of what your character is going thru!

Great video! I love your animations. Also... I know it's pretentious and stupid and absolutely not the point of the bit but I never have bouts of creativity like this and I have to get it out of my system, so (warning for gore): A stabbing pain knifed through him, and he grasped at his chest, feeling for whatever was causing the pain. The pressure only made the agony worse, and he dropped his hands. He staggered away from his enemy, muttering curses, and collapsed behind a tree. Raising a shaking hand to his chest once again, he took a deep breath and looked down. Black spots appeared in his vision as his breath came faster and faster. Five knives stuck out of his chest. Blood soaked his shirt and hands. He had to get them out, out, _out_ oh god there were _knives_ and he could _hear_ a blade _scraping_ against bone with each breath and it would make it _worse_ but god he had to get them _out_-- Unsteady, he wrapped a sticky hand around the hilt of one of the knives, a low whimper escaping him before he could stifle it. He tightened his grip and yanked. A ragged shout burst from him, his voice cracking. His flesh made a sick squelching noise, and he could see the layers of skin and fat where the blade had parted them before they were saturated by the blood welling up in the wound. He grit his teeth against the pain, body curling inward, breath leaving him in a sharp hiss. ...aaand I ran out of creative steam. I didn't make the guy an alien, though, oops. I think I understand what the person was asking now: how do you describe five similar events in succession without repeating yourself when you can't skip over them because they're too important? Also, sorry for the puns in the first sentence.
@theotherghostgirl3375 жыл бұрын
Kara Hill I mean the only way I can see writing a scene like this without making it tedious would be if you focused on the removal of the first blade, then wrote something like this ““______ paused for a moment to catch his breath. Then grimaced as he gripped the second knife. “One down” he whispered to himself “four more to go”” And then cut to a scene focused on something happening somewhere else. I understand that the author of the original question was probably insinuating that the character probably has a healing factor, but it’s not an excuse to make the audience sit through torture porn for an entire chapter
