This is truly one of the best lessons ever. I loved it so much. Since I'm a new immigrant to the US, learning the English language is not only about grammar and rules. But, it also expands to include such idioms and slang expressions.

Hello Annemarie, your lesson was absolutely rewarding to me. Here are some examples of what I've learnt from your lesson. 1) I'm so over hearing about the rise in fossil fuels' cost nowadays. 2) The cryptocurrency has been making a splash in recent 5 years. 3) learning English is so hot in Russia right now 4) Dyeing hairs in an odd colour is trending right now Please feel free to correct mistakes 😊 I was delightful to find your lessons online. Keep on doing such a good cause 🙏

Great job! Thanks for sharing your examples. Let's make one adjustment in example 1. We can use either "... hearing about the rise in" something or "I'm so over rising fossil fuels' cost..." How might you update your example?

Hello Annemarie, thank you so much for making this video. Could you make more videos please about idioms? I noticed that it is an ongoing practice here in the US to use so many idioms almost all the time. I would love to see more idioms ( e.g break a leg, he was pulling your leg, poke the bear) and so on those that are used in common settings for example to express strong opinions, actions, best practices, confidence, trust, and so on. Thank you so much wonderful video just what I was looking for.

Thank you for sharing trending phrases. I get older and I am a non-native English speaker so I might not abele to use these phrases. But just knowing these meanings makes it easier to have a have a conversation with native English speakers. Let's answer your question!! ♪ What I'm trending right now is to generously apply a low-priced cosmetology cream for anti-aging. ♪ I'm so over learning English with a textbook. ♪It's a making splash that Alexa has been listening to my English these days. That's all. If you have time, would you please correct my answer above.
@Speakconfidentenglish
@Speakconfidentenglish 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for sharing your examples, Yuko! I'd like to focus on one adjustment for your first example. It sounds like the anti-aging cream is trending, is that right? It's something a lot of people are using, not just you. Because the cream is a thing, we wouldn't use "I'm." Can you think of another way to say this? For example, "A low-priced cosmetology cream for anti-aging ________."

@Speakconfidentenglish
@Speakconfidentenglish 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question. Phrasal verbs certainly are a challenge. There are so many of them that it's nearly impossible to know them all. The best approach is a slow but steady approach. Select a small list (maybe 4-5) phrasal verbs you want to learn each week. Practice every day with the same phrasal verbs. I have several videos on learning and remembering new vocabulary here on KZbin for methods you can follow.
