I dont see any sign of the desert not taking over here. There is a lot of bare soil and erosion because of this. Look at it this way, why is it that new plants can not grow to replace old dying trees by them self? That is the real problem. This is because the ecosystem is missing some vital parts that are the foundation for trees to thrive. Unless these are addressed, there will always be desert here. The missing parts are grazing animals and grasses. This environment is what we call a brittle environment and grasses are a vital part of the ecosystem here, and for grasses to thrive, you need grazing animals. SO it starts with replacing these missing parts, animals, and then grasses will return, and then the trees have a good foundation to grow. Sadly these great people are not aware of this and will therefor not be successful in there honorable task. Since there is no natural grazing animals today, we can mimic their services with livestock and hopefully one day the natural grazing animals will return to keep it healthy.

Even Hong Kong hates the government and the mainland. Columbus was centuries ago, Mao was literally worse than Hitler. Taiwan would also disagree with you. Just the thought that someone could consider communism okay is sickening. You worship the biggest surveillance state in the world, with an economy that dabbles in mass production of research drugs to damage western countries, with a government that tries to control all of its neighbors. China directly controls North Korea's economy.

I love, and admire this humble couple, their hard work, and serenity. I try too, to plant, and care for my trees, greenery, and flowers in my backyard. Try to minimalise my rubbish, clean our environment, nothing major just a bit. This type of videos give me strengths, make me happy, and let me carry on in my little efforts. These people bring compassionate tears into my eyes. Tears of happiness that such people exist. Thank you. 🌻

just like recycling reforestation should be avoided. we cut down way too many trees. the replanted tree needs up to 30 years to fully replace the cut down tree and in the meantime the soil can be swept or blown away. .... before recycling fix or reuse or avoid the product that needs later on to be recycled. prevention is so easy just not so profitable....

yes they did due it but with saxaul trees it will take for years to bring a oasis. It's due to the low amount of water they need which means the roots don't go deep. You need s plant with roots that go deep to get the water that's deep down in the earth.

there are stories from a desert that tell of a man and his wife. one day she fell ill, and the man pleaded with a genie of the desert to help his wife. in return he would have to create an oasis to serve as a paradise in a thousand years for the genie. (I wouldve just moved him to the swamp over night and not say anything) 50,000 trees later, he & his wife still living. means they were so grateful, they do it for the enjoyment. Must be awesome to have a genie indebted to you (wise old man).
