Love it Brandon! People that are teaching these kids that they can back out of any and every agreement are setting them up to learn hard lessons in life. In real life, there are significant consequences to defaulting on agreements.

I have to imagine UF is not releasing him because they made it clear to him that Lagway IS the starter but he can "compete" for playing time

The only reason Purdie wants to leave is because of how the situation at Georgia changed nothing more nothing less. I agree with you on Will Griffin

I think let him do what he wants. It's a flaw in his thought process to think he was going to start at FL and if he saw a better opp somewhere else in the last week or so after committing to FL then fine. The portal is a mess and they need to tighten it up. These scenarios are too much

Kirby was very petty to UF on the transfer front with Rashada and Etienne. Screw him. Enjoy the counter punch. Every dawg has his day.

I wish Purdie would stay, play when DJ can’t and fight for a starting spot with Tramell & Griffin later on. It wouldn’t hurt to get that experience and come out as an absolute beast in your 4th/5th year.

Its not a great option, but what about the Spring portal? If there's nothing available now, try to get the back-ups ready, and when Spring comes around, maybe... maybe there will be a better option. Not coming from an SEC school.

Someone name dropping Georgia with this kid’s request is the one who screwed the kid. There is no way I think UF didn’t explain the situation. They’ve been blamed for not selling hard enough multiple times. I don’t even think UF has to dance around the conversation. “We think you’re a good QB and want you here and if you’ve changed your mind we don’t want you going to a rival.” I’ve watched several games of WG for 2026 and I don’t think he ever sees the field here. His throws look like they require way too much effort and his numbers aren’t great against better competition. He’d need to make notable improvements imo and getting more film his sr year is better for UF. Our schedule is too difficult anyway. If we lose Lagway I don’t see us playoff bound with Purdie or any other QB on the roster.

Will Griffin will be fine if he graduates early his senior year and and goes to next year's spring practice.

Do we really want a QB who was dumb enough to think he was coming into an open competition with Lags??? Not sure that is what you want in the QB room if thats the reasoning skills we were working with there.

But why has this happened repeatedly now at Florida?!?! Hate being the negative Nancy but history hasn’t been nice to Napier. If all of three of field blunders were happening & Napier wasn’t 3-14 against ranked opponents… it’d look different. We’d have more patience for him… but he’s JUST now seen success because of a player, Lagway. Idk I STILL can’t be on the Napier train.

Kirby knows he is hurting UF's QB depth by taking Purdy. Taking Etienne made UF look bad. Kirby knew taking Rashada made UF look bad. Letting Kirby have Purdy after hurting UF because we are nice guys? Not this time.

Will Griffin is not that guy and I dont even think he's going to play @ UF, especially if Jones stays and Billy brings a couple more QBs over the next 2 years.

You accuse the people around Purdie of lying to him but you don't seem to ask whether Florida did as well? You don't think the conversation of what the competition would look like never came up in his meetings with Florida coaches and staff. It would be odd for you to believe that he would believe his camp telling him that he could compete for the starting position when Napier and his coaches were telling him the exact opposite. You host a Florida podcast so I don't really expect ethical consistency from you when they are involved but advocating for Florida not to give Purdie his release while doing backflips for Dallas Wilson is pretty low.

Anybody who believes somebody telling them they’re going to start over Lagway is willingly delusional. “Ethical consistency” be damned, kids an idiot if he believed that.

@@papadoc19 What Florida told him doesn’t really matter in this instance, because that’s what the adults are there for, to tell him “Hey man you’re not going to get the chance to compete for the starting job here”

You're kidding right?! How could anyone possibly think after the true freshmen year that Lagway had that they were coming in to compete for the starting job! Lagway is being mentioned for the Heisman next year as a true sophomore. Someone misled this kid and it wasn't Florida. Whoever was making the 20% off of this kid totally lied to him to get the money. Have a brain - no one in the world, except the Purdie camp believes that. And honestly neither do you? You just don't like Florida or Napier and want to bitch. One of the dumbest posts in the history of social media.
