I respect that it's his vehicle to do as he wishes, I also appreciate how he "improved" the original by means of most of his mods. I have never been a fan of oversized rims on vintage/classic cars. To me it just does not look right. It's the condition he found the car in that bothers me. It belonged to the sellers grandparents and he kept it garaged for 13 years. It sounds like it was a "survivor" car - admittedly one that was "tired", in need of work. I know not all cars are to be restored, nor can they. To me a mostly original, complete car should be revived as original. If you want a custom or a "resto-mod" why not start with a car less complete or needing more work? I will say the work done is flawless, quite tasteful and original. The "348 rebuild" was nicely done - it fooled me until it was explained. No doubt there was more attention to detail than mentioned. Foe example the "Vintage Air" AC system was integrated into the factory dash - I'm certain the controls are as well, being connected to the factory HVAC controls. As I started with this "rant" - it's his to do as he wishes BUT I'm also entitled to my opinion.

Nope, the sixty-two is still the most attractive of the bunch. The fifty-nine is the most baroque (read ugly) of the group.

I will respect your opinion! For me, the funny thing is that at different stages of my life. I’ve appreciated different model years. I can’t really explain it. I once owned a 62 Bel Air and thought the 60 was the ugliest but now I kinda like it too. I’m probably weird.

@@BarryTsGarage The sixty-one is an unrefined sixty-two. No one who appreciates design would ever state that a fifty-nine is in any manner an attractive car. It is especially ugly from three quarter rear view given those hideous quasi-horizontal fins. Same for the interior of the car. Discordant lines. No aesthetic cohesion. Which goes to explain why a fifty-nine is not sought out for restoration. If you like cars that are so ugly they are interesting. The five-nine suits that paradigm well.

Beauty is subjective. It’s a good thing, the world would be super boring if everyone liked the same thing. One can like something for any reason or no reason, and tire of something and change in time.
