IXION combines city building, survival elements and exploration, into a thrilling space opera as you explore the stars. Propelled onwards through a perilous journey, you are the Administrator of the Tiqqun space station, charged with finding a new home for humanity.
Keeping the station sound and flying will require a deft hand and strategic thinking, as you are constantly pulled between maintaining hull integrity, bringing in new resources and managing power consumption.

TBH the frequency of "unprovoked" accidents in the game, even if your station has perfect conditions and is running like a clock, is absurd (every FKG minute you have 6 accidens in 6 sectors happening at the same time)...at some point they are not a threath anymore but still annoying as hell... I understand they put them in as some way of putting the player off balance...but pls...gimme some perk or upgrade to almost nullify them...because really, they are not a problem at all but just annoying...

Maybe you need to build a road to the broken road cell in sector 2 to be able to deconstruct it?

I have the same cell broken. I've tried your idea to fix it, but it doesn't work unfortunately. It's a bugged cell.

Thank you for another episode! Would've been nice to get all of the resources in the last sector. You got a huge blanket of stability, so probably could've gone for a while longer there. But maybe it's fine and I just feel greedy.

That is the actual way to do it (especially if ppl are new of the game, BE GREEDY...make storage in the base and collect everything in the first 3 chapters)...but he is doing a streaming so he needs to do things fast and go on, just for the show (would be boring otherwise)

Tiny quibble of the sort I think you appreciate: You have your cargo bays and utility buildings on the bottom section of your circumferential road, and your EVA docks and storage units on the top road. The storages are as far as possible from where the goods come in. They would be more efficient on the same side.

figured out the drone thing doesn't need to go in all sectors. that saves A LOT of space.

Is completely safe to travel between planets even without power as long as you do that INSIDE the meal cycle (5 cycles)...so if you start moving when the ppl have just eaten you can go up to 4.5 cycle distance with no problems...they arrive, they got power, they eat again and are happy...

Great video, love all the effort you put into your content. In the space sector, would it be better to put the docking bays on top so they are closer to the storage locations to facilitate faster transfer of products?

Algae are way more easy to lay down since every block included the first one is 4X6...they fit very good all at the top or bottom in a strip that is 12 squares wide from 1 side to the other of the room...you can put 3 sets of them there and the ice melter that is also high 12 squares if put vertically (later rendered obsolete by the waste recycler, that magically creates water) and you are set for life... (a strip of 12 squares is nice since it can accomodate 3 elements orizontally or 2 vertically and you can customize all the space used nicely going from 1 side of the room to the other)

The "order" you implement into the sectors is quite amazing :D But I am disappoint that you didn't fully mine out the system and invest the resources into the 6th / final sector 😱😢 I'm pretty intrigued about the story and look forward to watching it this weekend :)

to avoid the broken tile issue, build the train last after opening all 6 sectors and building all your infrastructures

I made the mistake of storing and hauling 10k ice around that I never used because two upgraded algae farms fed my whole crew of ~5k. I think on my next playthrough I'm going to design a population district around mushroom walls and use the bare minimum of workers in the other districts supported by insect farms. My drone ports simply stopped working around cycle 2000 and moving food from one dedicated district to all the other districts became really wonky.

Yeah I started to accumulate like 2.5K ice for future needs at some point but realized that that would have lost value soon and after that I almost stopped to bother about ice entirely...definitely not a problem in middle/late game

Having played through the game several times, each time I forget to wait on the upgrades before building nuclear power. the upgrade that halves the materials needed, means it is a significant waste and the upgrades are easily obtainable before the rest of the required infrastructure is in place to actually use the nuclear power.

Minor nit-pick on the perfection: in sector 1, the storage is on the EVA side rather than on the hangar side. Would having the storage on the hangar side instead be more effective?

if the transfer speed is not a constraint then any optimisation is irrelevant. It can transfer just fine in the time it has so no change will improve it

Put 2 hospitals in a single sector (one without power) and delete all the other clinics...you wont need them anymore, they become obsolete 2 hospitals are needed because 1 can still broke down (and you activate the other immediately if that happens)...2 in a single sector will never broke down at the same time...in different sectors can happen

I found the fighting dome absolutely superfluous...never had problem with happiness...I'd prioritize other, more valuable, researches

you highlighted the recycling level 2, but none of the others.. i believe the farming setup doesnt reach lvl 2, it needs 3 insect farms or something. And also would love to see a population lvl 2 sector aswell, because the requirements for it is a bit crazy high and i dont quite know how to deal with it, because the game doesnt say how much points each building gives.

@@Nilaus I don't think it is anymore. Getting rid of the 2nd fusion station (to build the docking bay) puts it back to T1 :(

One thing i still try to notice but haven't since i did not buy the game yet, When docking bays have stock piles are those stockpiles moved to the warehouses by the workshop or are they moved instantly? Because if the workshop has to movbe the items from Docking bays to storage i would advise you to but the warehouses in front of the docking bay instead of on the other side of housing, at your point in the game i don't belive it will make much difference but still an area where we can optimise

the stockpiles and docks have 5 drones each that let them move cargo, i think it'd be slightly faster to unload the bays if they were on the same side as the stockpiles, but maybe he just prioritized keeping the EVA's full for repairs over unloading slightly faster instead?

the workshop dont move resources...there are little trucks coming from the warehouses and moving things around (not instantly) And yes, a warehouse in front of a docking bay gets in things almost immediately...if it's far it takes more time Also is quiet absurd to have 4 docking bays bringing in resources without proper storage room in the sector...you just and up clogging the bays with unused resources, difficult to move around

@@jackel999 the EVA fills up in exactly...basically no time...that is absolutely not a problem... (also not a priority to keep the hull at 100% all the time...on the contrary, is best to let it degrade and then, when is about to break, fill it again) On the contrary, the docking bays full of resources that are hard to be emptied are a real problem...no point in having 20 ships coming in with resources if they are all stucked at the docks waiting in line to empty the cargo...

colonization is just temporary building? unless i overlooked a section in the video, you havent built any... first i thought sector 5 would have 1 on top close to the sign. but then you plopped down 4 nuclear plants there (which i feel is abit overkill but ok)

In sector 3 you have only one ice fusion thingy, but 4 farm. In my game, 1 ice fusion couldnt keep with 3 farm.... how you did it?

Hey in sector 2 for the 'broken tile' just redo the path build than delete it, had that happen to me too. Also in a similar area had a building be unclickable too.

I have the same broken tile, building roads again, re-clicking, reloading, nothing was able to delete it; its still there, its stuck, I have given up on that tile

@@jescaik probably but the dock's cargo counts toward that too, so either way he's got that as an issue unless he micros the cargo ships collecting the cryonic pods

After the patch, you only have to keep your cryopod stocks below your thawed population in that particular sector.

Soooo...what exactly are you using FOUR power plant to???? (I had just one, to activate in case I needed some temporary boost of energy, the entire time up to chapter5, and was absolutely fine) I am arriving at chap5 with more than 9999 alloy storaged so is not that I have not used the industry buildings... BTW...I understand that you are doing a run that is streamed so it needs to be entertaining and "fast"...but for the other folks here...DONT go to another system until you have cleared the current system of almost all resources...is slow and boooooring but you will never have problems to survive and you will gain plenty of additional research points since it is slower and you gain points in time...so you will get cool things early and will be ahead of the curve...

@@neilclarkwork I opened all 6 before the point he is right now...someway in the middle of chapter 3 In a second playthrough I opened all 6 even before going in the 3rd chapter (but that is a bit crazy...I was pushing) :DD My last opened sector is always some kind of storage room filled with large containers and not much else...while I go on in the journey... Fact is there is almost no penalty to open sectors if you have some energy and ppl to spare...the repercussion on the faster degrading of the hull is negligible and easily counterable.

I have 4652 people on my station, another 490 in the freezer. I've worked at least 200 people to death, maybe 250, maybe even 300. But I still have over 5000 on my station. I've yet to see a single playthrough with more than 4000. What are people doin with their crews? Or do you all just not collec them?

at the end of chap 4 I have 5032 ppl...and I havent collected the ones in the mission that was bugged in chap 4...basically noone lost except for mandatory losses in missions. If you do things right (especially managing incidents and hospitals) is absolutely impossible to lose ppl... PS: around 5000 ppl is a good balanced population for the station IMHO...all the workers you need and not too many to feed...

I finished this game, yesterday. While it is a decent game, it has zero replayability and is over priced for this. It might be worth the price if it was $9.99.

you are just wasting a lot of resources using 3 hull repaires on all the time when the hull is just at 100%...is hard to watch...at least unpower one permanently if you dont wanna do the "hull repair up/down dance"...with 2 on and 1 off the hull will prolly stay around 50-60% repaired and find a balance without need of intervention (depends on the buffs you have in efficiency of repairs)

@@Nilaus yes...where you were in the last couple videos (3rd chapter) with a bit of buffing in efficiency 2 EVAs in a space tier 2 sector keep the hull around 40-60% constantly without any intervention (if I remember right the parity point is around 108 damage...the hull degrades for 108 and you repair with 108 so it stays there indefinitely...is probably less for you since you had 1 sector less than I had) I only activated the 3rd when I wanted to move around and be more confortable with a higher hull health. In chapter 4 balance will change a bit obviously. If it seems that the healing with only 2 EVAs is not enough at 100% hull is because is terribly inefficient there...when you go down efficiency goes up, it starts to repair more in the same unity of time and there will be perfect compensation between up and down...try...
