I have no art or plants. I like a clean, empty look. I have a couple of coloured cushions on my couch to add a bit variety. It’s all personal choice. I love the look of your new space. Thanks for a great video.

TIL I have apparently been fengshui-ing my environment by instinct. 😊I've never been comfortable sleeping or working with my back to the door, or blocking the flow of energy with furniture. I just never knew there was a name for it! Anyway, re: your grey curtain, I really like it; it seems to go well with your over-all aesthetic. And regarding art... Well, take it from someone who has a few years on you: it is absolutely subjective, as you said. And not only that, one's preferences change over time. So just do what YOU like, in this moment. And just smile if someone criticizes or judges you -- they will catch up some day.

That's great Rachel! Fengshui matters hahaha. Thanks for sharing ❤️ I agree with you. I think I am gonna go for a few prints.

you and Nicholas Garofola should do a collab video, I'd love to see how two can make something out of your similar yet very different ways of looking at life, it's quite philosophical in my opinion

Feng shui is all about harmony & stability. It's also about harnessing what's best that work for you. It can vary from person to person.

It’s ok not to have any art on the walls. I don’t have any in my home either. A simple way to add coziness to your minimalist home is to have items that you already own or intend to own in the future in your favourite colours and have them strategically placed around the house. From your videos, I think your apartment will look great in subtle shades of white, grey, black and white oak veneer. White oak veneer will give it warmth. Just my opinion anyways..🙌🏼

I find that having SOME things often makes me want MORE things, or different things (like is the thing I chose the “right” thing?), so sometimes extreme minimalism makes it easier. Choosing nothing makes it easier to chose. Does that make sense? But I do have a big map from Raven Maps that I love. And a few prints by artist friends that are both beautiful and meaningful.

Wow! I think you may be my twin flame?!?! Before the “psychopath jokes” I’ve always positioned my bed and couch, etc so I have a clear line of view to see anyone, if anyone.. I always remembered that line in the Poltergeist movie where Donna was doing her makeup and CarolAnn says “Remember, Less is More!”.. I was like maybe 12 years old when that last one came out but I’ve always gotten uneasy when I walk into clutter. My parents are both packrats and my whole family are packrats.. My family always jokes that if you need your house cleaned or want to give away things to Salvation Army or Goodwill, ARC, etc- CALL WENDY, she’ll clean it for free! I can remember being a little kid and my granny’s house was always a mess but with 8 kids and 8 thousand grandkids, she didn’t have time or energy to keep it spotless and I remember then, thinking- I want my things to have a place and not just have things just to have them, makes no sense. I do love your minimalist style and the feng shui. I’m in the process right now of cleaning and clearing out more things and then will redecorate after! I do enjoy accent color hence my “bohemian” KZbin name. But don’t like jumbled colors or heavy patterns. Everyone has their own style. Imagine a blank world without color and everyone having the same thing, same everything- very boring world it would be! Love your channel 🤍
