Designing Ammunition with Standard Tools in Blender - Beginner Friendly

Designing a lot of objects in Blender can be created using the standard tools, no add-ons needed. I thought it would be fun to look at some ammunition as it seems a pretty common to need object for sci-fi modelling.

Thanks so much Emma. Its one of these shortcuts that seems commonly used by some Blender users (generally sculptors) but not in others, so I wanted to throw it out there as I find it great for hard surface modelling.

Thanks Anthony. Yeah I love Alt + Q. It seems to be commonly used in sculpting but less outside of it so I wanted to include it.

I really just appreciate the hell out of your videos. I am an old hand at modeling (first learned on 3D studio max back in '98) so going slow for dummies like me is very helpful! Keyboard shortcut for switching between vertex - edge - face select in edit mode is number key 1 - 2 - 3 respectively nvm you already said that

You might say "It's not as beginner-friendly". I disagree. The less vertices you have, the less things can go wrong. (Selection & edit are easier, too) This is one reason why I'm such a big fan of the subdivision workflow

I just disagree as its a suggestion that seems to miss the point of the video - to introduce the basic Blender tools, what they do and how to use them.

@@ArtisansofVaul fair enough, one must learn to crawl before walk. But, do remind beginner students that there's more to blender than that. Otherwise, it's like a calculator that's used a paperweight
