If you buy the chocolate and you give it to a villager they will ask to come to happy home paradise. So you get to design a holiday home for them. Hopes this help.

If you place something in the house that can usually be turned on (like the bubble machine) you can exit out of the placing mode and interact with it to turn it on as usual :)
