Hi everyone. In this video I will be sharing some of the design process of the Colour Rhythm Shawl. This is a fun and relaxing pattern to knit and it uses a lot of beautiful hand dyed yarn. I will be sharing some design tips as well as knitting books that you may find inspiring.

I love this design. I watched until the end. At the 23:58 time stamp, that is my favorite photo. It shows off the shawl, colors, and drape, and combined with your "pose", wonderful. Thanks also for the design thoughts. I tried awhile ago, and got overwhelmed. I was trying for a sweater, so it was probably too much for a beginner.

Thank you for sticking with my video until the end. I do find pattern designing challenging, it doesn't come easy to me but I just problem solve as I go and it's so worth it when I can see the finished product. If you're interested in designing try modifying an existing pattern to your taste or start with something small and straight forward like a cowl or scarf and just concentrate on creating interesting texture or colour combinations to get your feet wet with designing.
