Amen! Today's church simply says that all we need to do is confess the Lord as Savior, yet they don't do a good job when dealing with the problem of sin. They say, come as you are and Christ will do the rest, removing any and all personal responsibility. When Jesus calls us, we are to leave all to follow Him-- which includes your sin. If we continue in our sin, we continue to live in the sin that Christ died to deliver us from, He will not tolerate us living in sin, period. Yes, we will sin from time to time, but we must repent and endeavor to live a sinless life. We have no excuse, and if we continue living and looking like the rest of the world, there's a pretty good chance that you have been living a lie while being enabled to continue in your sins by the very people that are suposed to be teaching you how to live Holy lives. You hear so many people teaching about a pre-trib rapture, but I wonder if those people have a clue that we will be standing before a holy holy God, stained with the filth of habitual sin, the Lord my very well say, "Away from Me, I never knew you." Go to your Teacher, the Holy Spirit, and ask Him to open the eyes of your understanding, open your ears that You might hear what He says to the Church. Anything that goes against the very words of Christ is a delusion. Be careful of the cheap grace that they offer, because the grace of God, although free to us, cost God's Son His life. Please read the letter to the Hebrews so that you can see the dangers of false teaching.

I am not John Piper but I know the letter to which you are referring. You can disregard my comment if you so choose. But, here goes. The vast majority of Christians use political issues such as abortion, gayism, and government as litmus tests for their love of the Lord. But the Lord's elect are chosen with the ultimate goal of bringing glory to the Lord. In other words, the Lord works through His chosen ones so that everything about their holy lives (not political position) or sanctified lives (not political position) shine back on the Lord (i. e. glorifies the Lord...makes the Lord look good). Given what is known about Donald Trump, given the information you agree with about Donald Trump, given the information you disagree with about Donald Trump, given your defenses of Donald Trump, given all of this, can you say that your support of Donald Trump glorifies the Lord?

The first seven bibles translated into English, rebellion is departure. Apostasy is apostasia meaning departure. Replace rebellion with departure and the verse makes far more sense. To think Paul was comforting his church by telling them "hey, the church will fall away before the man of lawlessness is revealed" is a far stretch. That is not comforting. What is comforting is when Paul tells them, "that day cannot come until WE the church is removed from restraining the man of lawlessness." Paul repeats this twice in II Thessalonians ch. 2. The Catholic church is the one who changed apostasia to apostasy. I think we should recognize Paul is talking about a "single” event not a prolonged event where the church has to guess to which rebellion is "the” rebellion. God does not work in guesses! He is matter of fact. As you said, the rebellion of the church has been happening since the death of Christ. Not a one time “single” event that Paul is talking about.

Post Trib Rapture is unbiblical, just like the PreTrib you have come to reject, NOW it is time you come to realize that Gods word teaches a PreWrath Rapture. Nothing in Scripture confirms we go up in the air and come right back down to earth like YoYo's! When we go up to meet the Lord in the air we are changed, glorified, given new bodies, escaping our earthly bodies that can not enter heaven and we are given heavenly bodies for the purpose of dwelling in heaven. The church comes out of the great tribulation being rescued by Jesus and we go to heaven and are before the throne of God on our knees. Revelation 7:9-17 After the rapture we are NOT on earth as God pours out His wrath, the ONLY people here on earth that are Gods people are the 144k Jewish men from the 12 tribes of Israel (Rev 7:4-8) ALSO it must be realized they are the ONLY people on earth that are Protected from the wrath of God (Rev 9:4), IF as YOU Piper teaches, the church is still on earth, then God would be pouring out His wrath on His faithful church and showing partiality, And that IS NOT THE GOD OF THE BIBLE! Desiring God, trust an erroneous man like you to use an erroneous translation. The Greek for, "Falling away". (NOT rebellion as your erroneous Bible is says）, Is "A departing". It's the rapture of the Church, Then the man of sin can come. See vs 6--8.

@alanhales1123 Youre also wrong. Paul uses the greek word "he apostasia". I dont know why but no one seemes to know what Paul is talking about because then you wouldnt need to be an expert on greek words. The meaning of "he apostatsia" is: rebellion, upror, falling away, departure. He is talking about an event there it is a rebellion because of a falling away and a forced departure which is caused by the rebellion. That leads directly to antichrist being set up and the tribulation starts. WHY is no one talking about this? Why is it a mystery? Its in the bible but it wasnt reveiled in Pauls days but he had been caugt up to heaven but he never told in direct text about what he was shown. He wasnt allowed to. What is it that preceeds the tribulation? Where is that text? Its in the bible so this topic shouldnt be a guesswork! There is a text where we can see the restrainer have being removed and he is now in charge of taken care of the greatest rebellion in history by force. Of course the restrainer and his army defeats the rebels and cast them out. That is what starts the tribulation. Why is everybody ignorant of this major and important to know event which is foretold to us in the bible. Maybe the answer is in Daniel 12:4, its sealed until the endtime.

@thomasgrans3303 the Greek says the "Falling away" mean, "A Departing". And if I put it in it's right context you will see that it means a departing to Heaven. "Apostasy falling away," it doesn't mean a falling away from the faith. It means a departing. Please. note, It doesn't say a falling away from the faith, DOES IT. Whereas 1 Tim 4: 1 does say falling away from the faith.

So where is the text i mention that explains what Paul is talking about in 2 Thess. 2:3? If you dont know that its meaningless to debate the exact meaning of the word "he apostasia". Verse 6-8 talks about the restrainer. When you refer the restrainer to the church or maybe the holy spirit its only based on speculation because you dont know where the "facit" is. Pretrib teaching is corrupt bible reading. Here is how it works. One has a preconcieved meaning/idea and then looking for evidence that what one think can be supported by some texts.Thats why you can not see the context and understand the text rightly. He apostasia can also mean stand away (from). It can mean divorce from. The text says the day of the Lord can not come until antichrist is revieled and is siting in the temple. Jesus comes after he is here. Antichrist can not come until the restrainer have being removed. If you dont know who the restrainer is and the reason he is moved away, how can you say what it means. You are only guessing. Again there is a text that explains this. You said it means devil to heaven. Take it literaly. What text tells what happens that opens up to the tribulation. The restrainer is there and he has a name. How does antichrist get his power and from whom does he get it? Dont you know? seriosly?
