If only they can figure out the difference between telling too much and too little, while appeasing their "family friendly" ideal, they will do well. Origami King was definitely better than the last Paper Mario entry in that regard, so they are learning. Shame they didn't improve mechanics more, but any improvement is appreciated in that respect. Mechanics wise, they should just revert to the original Paper Mario, its nice and simple and everything, perfect for a "simple RPG" system. Add some extra mechanic to that like the Audience from TTYD and you are good.

If you think about it, even Void and Kirby's powers are two faces of the same medal. Kirby, a creature who has *zero* abilities by himself, has a plethra of infinite possibilities in front of him, depending on who he will inhale, always evolving, always turning into something new and more powerful. On the other hand, Void is "infinitely" powerful, capable of destroying everything with a simple thought, cannot evolve or change himself. He is already infinite, the pinnacle of his possible growth. Thus leaving him Zero possibilities to turn into something else, something different. Maybe something that can enjoy a snack under a tree, or dream of his friends.

I found a clever touch during the final hit that prove's this. while they are both charging their lasers Void's laser makes a completely new sound effect, however, when Kirby charges his, he *reuse's* a sound effect, its the same one used for things like charging a sword ability spin attack. Not to mention, Kirby and void had both had the power to fire these lasers in the first place, lemme say that again, Kirby, our hero, had the exact same power that void, the main villain, has to fire these lasers. the two are polar opposites but are intertwined BIG TIME. But.... how? My only guess is that they are from the same origin but have different powers, kinda like good and evil always appearing together, kinda like in games like sayyyyy.... Dragon Quest. Kirby is a being born of care and love, while void is well, void of these characteristics, filled with destructive intents. but yet, they seem to have similar sources of energy, the friend hearts, and the dark hearts. We still have no clue who created them, or even What created them, only time will tell..... EDIT: Lets also not forget that Kirby and void's inner appearance have very, VERY similar faces.

@@Ihazkirbro my theory is that Void IS Kirby. Or, better to say, he WILL BE Kirby. Let me explain: the final final final actual final boss is called "Astral birth Void". Which means he isn't just a creature that had been sealed away, he is coming to life, you are fighting a newborn entity. Its description says that maybe now that he is at the beginning of a new life, he could enjoy snacks and peaceful rests, just like Kirby, implying that the two are strictly linked together. Void's characteristics are determined by the conditions it's born into, during the story mode ge is a destructive force because he was born using the hatred and wicked mind of Hyness, but he could become good if born surrounded by good and positive feelings (like the ones of the Star Allies) because he its true nature is absolutely neutral. So, if in the final fight in the boss rush he is a newborn Void, he stays true to his neutral nature, and when confronted with the Star Allies, he becomes an entity of good. So what now? He is a kirby-like creature, good, and who can enjoy snacks and naps. And during his ost we can hear a remix of the very first Kirby level ost. In my opinion, when you "defeat" Astral Birth Void, you are witnessing the birth of Kirby himself. Void exists in many realities, spaces and times, so it's possible that after the final fight in Star Allies, Void ends up in Kirby's Dreamland. It's a weird theory, but if you think about it, isn't it also weird that Kirby seems almost destined to fight the Dark Matters, not only on Pop Star but all across the universe. So, to say it quick and simple, Kirby fights Void to allow himself to be born in the past and grow until he fights himself again, in a loop.

So, there's the theory that void termina is a "mature" kirby born of negative energy, correct? and kirby is an immature version of this species made of positive energy, which we all know. It's my personal theory that Meta Knight, obviously of the same species, is born of a sort of true neutral energy. Look at methods of flight for all the three types: Void is a form of dark matter/zero, and they all hover to fly. they also seem to have amoeba-like appendages they can make. Kirby needs to inflate and flap his arms to fly, and his arms seem to be much like a cell's false limbs, but cemented in one form. Meta knight doesn't need to puff up, like dark matter, but he needs to flap his wings, like kirby's arms. and he has limbs that are much more like anatomical hands rather than false limbs. just some interesting observations I thought I could share with Y'all

Link and Dark Link) Void Termina is definitely something special. Kirby isn't just fighting an evil Kirby; he's fighting what Kirby could have been. A force of near infinite power, but this time, born into a place of chaos and darkness, instead of Dreamland, the world of peace and happiness... But Void has potential. Potential to become more than just a chaotic, destroying force. With Kirby's determination to protect his friends and his homeland, Void could become something positive, giving, creating, instead of negative, taking, destroying. Kirby inhales an enemy, but he spits out a star. Just when I think Kirby Final bosses couldn't get any better, HAL surprises us with something like this.

There's something so interesting in Kirby's lore, the fact that, despite the stories of unknown past that unravel in front of our group of protagonists, all of them are easily sweep away, uninterested in the mythos behind them, not seeking, well except for Meta knight, this divine artefacts left by the ancients for their own gain. Instead, they follow their own paths, enjoying the small things life has to offer, like eating an apple covered by the shade of a tree alongside a friend; a fire forged rivalry turned friendship, a good ol'spar against a loyal subject. In the Kirby universe, it's been proven so far that, it isn't the knowledge that turns people evil, it's their greed for power that turns in the genesis of their downfall.

After listening to this song way too many times, I cannot help but think to myself something awfully common among modern Kirby Games. Almost every main antagonist, practically each one of them, has attempted to gain the power of God Marx wished to be the strongest, and in his defeat, absorbed the power of the all granting clockwork star and absolutely lost himself. Shattered Sectonia was consumed by a dimension that was not her own, and in her vanity, attempted to merge with the power of nature itself. Wilted Haltmann engineered a paragon of technology, one to rival the power of the clockwork stars themselves, only as well, to be consumed by that power. Wiped Hyness, a maddened, decrepit version of his former self, sacrificed soul upon soul in order to revive the Dark God. And it was in his psychosis that he lost himself to the void (in more ways than one) And in all their greatness, the Void itself was manifested by soul, and with those same souls, was brought back once again into something far greater. All by the hands(?) of Kirby Ancient civilizations, lost civilizations, beings from all across the universe, all attempting to obtain that what could not. What if the new game leads itself into something much greater? What if God TRULY took back what was theirs? What better to unlock Kirby's true potential, than a 3D, open world, ripe for the conquering. Nobody thought it would end this way. Kirby teaming up with friends and enemies, old and new to discover what created everything, what has been there since the beginning. A void, with nothing in it, a void that wants peace, but can't have it. A tragedy of creature who has only been used for evil, even when it was said he could be reborn with happiness and positivity. Something that, after defeating it a second time, wanted to be free of the pain and evil it was used for. And together Kirby, his friends, his Dream Friends, they give peace to the void, letting it finally rise, as a happy being, as something that can feel the Spring Breeze, have snacks, have naptime, and can finally dream. But most importantly, as someone with a friend, a friend who draws their circle, dots their eyes, and gives them a big smile. This game all led up to an Astral Birth.

I have a theory as to what exactly void termina is. It is my belief that he is not zero per se, but neither is he Kirby, or at least not exactly. From his descriptions we know he is an all powerful inter domentional being that was sealed away by four heroes for reasons unknown but is still regarded as a deity by the jambandran cult. We also know he takes different forms across the multiverse based one the surrounding energies. He is also known to create things by his soul melter EX description. Now for the speculation. I think He isn't just the origin of Kirby or of Zero as many believe but rather the origin of everything in the Kirby series. Let's look at Kirby and dark matter's properties a moment. Kirby is known to be a being of infinite power that can absorb and copy the abilities of nearly anything and when he discards a power it becomes a small "star". Dark matter is surprisingly similar, it is known to corrupt and eventually consume entire planets like it nearly finished doing to ripple star in Crystal shards. Dark matter can also create "stars". And many artifacts such as the master crown and star dream have connections to either Kirby or dark matter or both and we're likely initially made through their power. If in fact void termina is the origin of Kirby and all dark matter then he is in a way the origin of the other major bosses in the series. The planet pop star itself could have been created by Void termina, it is shaped like a "star" after all. If he is the origin of them then I guess in a way Kirby is killing himself in every game, it's just a matter of who runs out of lives first.

Now, I am not an expert on Kirby lore, so if I am wrong feel free to correct me. So Void is a pretty crazy character. He can have the wings of Zero 2, a form heavily resembling Dark Matter and create master crowns at will. I personally think that this is meant to show that Void is the origin point of all major Kirby villans. Which gets me thinking, what if Kirby can do the same. What if he can create good versions of them, or even take on there forms like how Void does. Those would be awesome extensions of his power and make for very fun game mechanics, at least in my opinion

I adore how such a signifacantly large parts of this theme (star of dustruction, first core, wings of sorrow and celestial sphere and to a lesser extent final core) feel like their building up the final part. Its so foreboding as its constantly reminding you that this isn't the final phase, this isn't the end of the destroyer and it's your end. It show you how small you are and how grand and god-like void termina is, that you are nothing to it but a pest, an insignifacant mortal in it's way that it wants to destroy, like everything else in the universe. However the final phase (sparkling star) is different. It still shows off the grandiousness, it shows hoew you are witnessing this gof in it's purest form of it's self. The vunrability of this entity is present to you, yet doesn't make you confident that you will win, it scares you because you know what it truely is. This part feels so different to the rest of the song as it doesn't feel quite like a kirby final boss theme, but in a good way. It feels more akin to the backround music you hear in the backround of the peaceful times in the intro or in places like the first world (World of peace - dreamland) giving you a sense of familiarity, after all kirby and void are one in the same, so ofcourse you would find yourself familliar. All around I adore this rearrangement and it's themes. I know next to nothing about music theory, but I do know an unhealthy amount of kirby lore so I wanted to dump my love of this song into a comment, sorry for the lenth.

I haven’t seen any comments point it out yet, but the motif of Zero Two’s boss theme at 2:13 is a super cool section that I 99% isn’t in the original piece. Didn’t even notice it on my first dozen listens of this amazing piece but when I did a smile lit up my face. I’m a massive fan of musical motifs so stuff like that makes me incredibly happy to see, especially when they’re not in the original pieces of music and the artist behind the cover going out of their way to put those awesome little details that long time fans of a series will be able to go "Hey, I recognize that! *THAT’S SO COOL!* etc.“Like me with the Kirby Series. Just to point out, Meta Knight has a mask and skin like wings. Galacta Knight also has a mask, but it has horns coming off it, and he has feathered wings. Void Termina’s outer form/the first and third phases has the same horns, mask and feathered wings, shaped differently but still prominent features. The masks and armor aren’t fashion statements, this race of beings grows them as they get older, until they form an entire new body to encase and protect the old one, possibly as a cocoon for when they develop to the age of Zero.

This damn good My only problem would probably being able to slightly hear out the slight quality difference between a composer with 10+ years experience remixing an amazing composition and a full time composer with 20+ years experience that is able to get multiple inputs from just as much experienced composers. Yet that's nothing I can judge with neatly no experience. But seriously, this is amazing. I especially love the Shining Star arrangement, even thought I missed a twist in the second half simmilar to the 8-Bit dropping in intensely. My least favourite, compared to original, is probably Sorrow and Heaven's wings which was originally one of my favourites due to the organs, which were pretty amazingly used. ALSO DAMN, THAT SOME GUD DRAWING OR WHATEVER ... guess I will leave some Lorefacts right here to not seem like a casual under all other people: The original StarBirth (which is the original name of "AstralBirth") description is a lot... better Just let me get my probably meh translation and write some notes on it: On finish of this battle... Exceeding the Star Silk... Niru, slowly steps to a new era. In place of the art of devestation, even before noticed a calm spring breeze, dancing to the paradise beyond, knowing the heart. Now, flying freely. And eating rice. And taking a nap. Maybe again finding that dream from forever long ago. of.... *MEETING NEW FRIENDS, THAT DREAM!* Translation notes: I am not that happy about the last 2 sentences. The second last sentence I am not that sure about the meaning. And on the last I am unhappy with the wording. (Oh yeah Niru is the japanese name of Void it "translates" as Nil (R and L are the same letter in japanese so it's not much of a translation")) ("Dancing to the Paradise beyond" refers to Void.) The "Eating Rice" is actually refering to a specific rice dish called Gohan, but I just used rice So now the neat details: 1. What I translated as StarSilk is actually a japanese name 2. The "devestation" mentioned (or rather what I translated as such) is the same expression as in a part of the Prayer to VT 3. The "Paradise Beyond" is also originally mentioned in the Prayer to VT, but I am also not yet fully sure on how to translate it. But I guess it refers to a Paradise of beyondness. 4. "Flying freely" is an expression from TrueVoids core description where it states there to be as many Voids flying freely in ADs as there are ADs. (Weird wording right there) 5. At that point it also switches from using Kanji for words to using Hiragana only. Kanji are symbols which are used to express whole words while Hiragana are only used for sounds. In this case it is moszlikely used to add more "friendlieness" and "childishness" to the text (It switching from using the more complex system to the more "familliar" "simple" one) 6. The "Eating Gohan" was also used in another description of ph4 Void (I just don't remember which) but I haven't truly translated that yet. More interestingly is the fact that StarDream Soul OS last japanese description also uses that metaphor, just in it's case it says that StarDream can't eat Rice anymore, refering to how it has become a lifeless machine (Also a small leftover of Planet Robobot having deeper lore, which in the Miiverse interview was stated to be cut down to something more simple (Other leftovers are the songname "Soul 0 System" and "Intermezzo without a Leader" being the 02 leitmotiv. There is also a concept art of the Heart phase being a mechanic kind of Zero, and SD key looked a lot more 02 in the beginning) That should be it

Hey, thanks for the translation! I've heard a lot about how the localization team messed up with a lot of the pause screen descriptions, but I haven't found the time to actually look into it much. (plus, y'know, I don't know any Japanese and I'm not entirely sure where I'd go to find translations)

@@goodgizmo8132 Well I don't know where to get translations either. So I started translating some myself despite not knowing proper japanese. And yeah there are quite some localisation issues. Originally there was a paradise mentioned multiple times, while the localisation cut that completely out besides from DarkHyness and the english translation also keeps it in the generals guest star description. There's also the fact of Morpho being described as a "Butterfly of Paradise", just that it doesn't mention a normal paradise but Sukhavati, which is some Buddhist form of afterlife. In japanese it is called "extreme bliss", "extreme" being the kanji that differentiates from the other mentioning of paradise as well as used to call Morpho (Who originally is literally called Butterfly Knight) the "Extreme Black Butterfly" Overall GK and Morpho are shown in a stronger contrast Morpho being the Back Butterfly And Galacta the White Knight Here my (probably meh) MorphoEX translation: "On the day of Judgement this Butterfly of Paradise will come flying down from 'Another Dimension'. A World of Dreams or a World of the Dead... which Dimension will he go next. (Rushed translating this part) The Power received from the White Knight becomes greater day by day and will finally become his own. The True strenght of the Black butterfly will show on this Day of judgement... which now, is closing in onto evening." I like to note that the starting sentence of Morpho is very simmilar to EX, with the Key difference being Morpho's description just stating he came from "someplace" and MorphoEX specifying that as AnotherDimension. There's also the thing with the 4 matters but I am completely unsure about that sentence so the best source for that would be Meteorz video

I still get chills when I think about this remix. It's absolutely amazing. I hadn't fully understood what Star Allies was about until I listened to this, and it hit me: Kirby's origins as a Voidling. After that, I was chomping at the bit to get my hands on a copy of the game, and I finally got one as a present from a family member. Void is not to be trifled with! He's absolutely difficult as hell to fight solo!!!

Just stumbled upon it and GOD I love it all. The beginning ominous threat, the occasional kirby jam you can hear throughout, the epic termina soul, how the end bounces back and forth between calm divinity and ever-consuming darkness...even at the end, it feels like I can feel a bit of Hyness' theme.
