DeSoto Falls and the Welsh Caves

Awesome place!!! We are going to see the falls and found out about the caves!!! I will try to find them! Awesome drone footage!!! Any advise before going to the caves?

How did you get the the welsh caves, trying to figure out where that is now!

It's kinda tricky to find, you walk along that trail that follows on top of the bluff line, not too far before you get to the point there is a place where you climb down a short amount, but there is nothing remarkable there to know where to climb down. You just have to know where it is. You can probably get the best clues from watching the video.

@@RonBurkett, Believe it or not, I found it just after writing the comment, took me a while but I found it. Super cool spot. Just to think at one point that was home!

We're going there this weekend to try to find the caves. Any tips? We've never been on this trail, but we hope to be able to find the caves and hopefully get down to the splash pool of the falls.

I'm also seeing that apparently it's on private property, are we talking "going to get shot" private property, or "we're not responsible if you fall to your death" private property? I can handle that second one.

@@Bradhelton938 Hey Brad, well, I don't think it's an "official" trail, but you park alongside the road in a steep curve under powerlines just before you get to the state park. There is an obvious trail leaving from there. To go to the bottom of the canyon, start walking under the power lines and you will see a trail, just follow that and keep the bluff line on your left and keep going down. You will start to hear and see the water and it will be apparent where to go. To get to the caves, park in the same spot but follow a trail that stays above the bluffs and follows along the bluff line. Just before you come to an overlook sort of where the bluff line turns up the canyon, there is a place to climb down. You will just have to look for it, there's not really anything to mark the spot.
