Eight years ago I was 80K in debt and no assets. Today, all debt paid. Full emergency fund. Large built up of cash and a house with extra payments plus better health and a better job. I would not be here if I did not follow the program. What pushed me was meeting David in person at book signing back then. Dave's' team teaches and motivates despite to pull forward. As a big spender, this program works and cost really nothing. I never thought I would ever be out of debt. Thank you Dave Ramsey.

@@erikrohr4396 good point. I think if people are smart about how they go about the AirBnB business, it can be lucrative and enjoyable. But it’s better suited to those who have a heart for it. Kind of like running an actual BnB. Going into massive debt, or thinking it’s going to be totally passive, or choosing an AirBnB that primarily caters to high turnover student accommodation or such, run away lol.

@@Pandorash8 I had a couple ask me to clean their AirB&B. I had had bed bugs 5 years ago and looked up AirB&B's and bed bugs. It says it's not if you get them but when you get them. Most AirB&B's end up with bed bugs. I said no because I didn't want to bring them home.

Dave's right about Air B&B's. They're hard to run due to the constant cleaning. Our town is starting to consider requiring a permit and pay fees (taxes) on it. Plus you will wind up with bed bugs. Air B&Bs website says it's not if you get bed bugs but when you get them. !!!!!! I had bed bugs in my house 4 years ago. I wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy!!!

Most these callers don't have real problems. Wait, you and you're wife, for example, earn $250K, your house is paid off, you've got no debt...and your question is should you sell your Florida beach house??? Or, you have no debt, you've paid off your house, you've got 1 million in 401K savings....and you're asking Dave how you would save college money for your 3 year old grandchild??? Those are not real world questions to ask Dave!

I made over 220K during this dip, which made it clear there's more to the market than we average joes know. Having an investment adviser is currently the best course of action, especially for those who are close to retirement ...

I do wonder if the caller who received $9,000 for the totaled car might have been able to negotiate more. For each of our totaled cars, my husband negotiated over 50% over the initial offer from the insurance company.. He would pull comps (significantly higher than the comps from insurance company), identify the extras (new tires, entertainment center) that weren't on the comps and would keep saying that we weren't going to sell the car - we need enough to replace the ones that were totaled in the CURRENT market. Some comps were 9 months old and from cars that weren't even on the market

I need a new catalytic converter on my Toyota Matrix. I don't have enough cash in my emergency fund to get it done so I thought I'd get a credit card. I checked out the 0% interest bank credit card. (I have no debt except a manageable mortgage). The catch is it's only 0% interest if you pay it off at the end of the month. How is that a deal? I thought of Proverbs that the borrower is servant to the lender. I also thought of Dave Ramsey. My car is drivable and I am retired. I had no peace about the credit card. I decided to save the money instead. I have peace about that. I am only driving my car to town a few times a week which is 10 miles round trip. Glad I didn't get that credit card!

Pay cash for the rental property? The majority of people wouldn't be able to ever do that. Also many get into rental properties and do well with little money down; Provides cash flow every month and if things do go south you could always sell it. Yeah, I'd hope a 4yr degree is required for any *real* CS job... otherwise those of use with CS degrees are carrying everyone else along. CS is one of those things you can't learn (well) in 3-6 months -- especially if you're working a day-job at the same time. If the job is a "low code" or "no code" job, maybe a cert could work. I do a lot of technical interviews, and you can tell who is BSing and who knows their stuff in the first 5 minutes or less.

Please be warned of some modern bibles. Compare KJB Revelation 13:1 And I (John) stood on the sand of the sea. Some of the modern bibles change.... John to dragon.

I have watched/listened faithfully for years. I have a hard time watching w Jade as a host as she constantly shakes her head and says yep, yeah, uh huh, mmm hmm, that's right, etc to Dave's every sentence! Otherwise I like her, but just have a hard time listening and usually put on closed caption bc of this.

@@thirdintegrawhy is your opinion any more valid than theirs? I always find it amazing when people put down others (“do you feel special?”) when they express a viewpoint different than their own.

Can you please clean up your vocabulary Dave? I have heard you say “friggin” “Oh God” and “Jesus” instead of a swear word, I know you are smart enough to stop that. Love your show. “

Sorry Dave. Selling the paid off lake house that's netting 2k/mo rental income is not an intelligent move. Just use that extra 2k/mo to accelerate the payoff on the primary residence. Look long term Dave
