Haha, the OPI Tokyo collection is actually my favorite OPI release. The names don't bother me, but OPI's naming convention is certainly on the cringe side and it does get a little iffy when they reference another culture because the silly puns kinda start to sound like mockery. That said, I do miss when OPI did location based collections instead of referencing NFTs and influencer culture.

I agree with you about the Infinite Shine line from OPI. A good top coat give all the gloss you need.

Loved your commentary on the Nikki Minaj controversy, it's a great point how KZbin is preventing a lot of positive and important discourse by their censorship rules. My equivalent to your Nikki Minaj polishes is the Controversy palette, I bought it secondhand thankfully but I still felt weird having it. I ended up depotting it and am much happier with the shades added to the big magnetic palette I have without having to look at the packaging. However, if I already had dupes for most of the shades, I would have been happy to keep one or two unique ones and just throw out the rest. I did have dupes for two of the shades, and scraped out the shadow and kept the empty pans for future repressing purposes b/c they're really nice sturdy, magnetic pans. I don't think there's an easy answer for keeping products that are produced by people who you later find out did terrible things. Lots of people say if you have it, you might as well use it, but if you're reminded of the terrible things every time you use the product then it's probably better for you to get rid of it and if it's in good condition maybe give or sell it to another person who will be happy to get some use out of the thing.

Runs to check Artificial Orange bottle in panic.....sheds tears hearing about humans confusion on brown and orange( not the same ). Wimpers as some of favs are tossed aside🎉😂❤

I watched a KZbin video about orange and brown and digitally, at least, brown is just dark orange. Apparently, the way our brains process the two colors is contextual and brown looks orange if you see it alone. I’ll see if I can find the video. Ever since I rediscovered nail polish, I’ve been fascinated by color and the difference between digital colors vs pigment based color vs light.

@@LizCowanSC yeah I had to study all the color theory and mixing stuff. Digitally and light work very differently than pigment in a vehicle. I stick to paint mostly. I can make brown in so many ways without orange .

I just love your rambling commentary. You bring up so many different thoughts and topics, and I want to reply to all of them!! (I won't, but... just a couple:) I also don't believe in OPI Infinite Shine. When Essie came out with their Gel Couture formula, now that was & is a superior product than the regular line. Also, I'm a quilter and I know other seamstresses who have literally ROOMS full of fabric!! I hope you occasionally show in the background or talk a little about your sewing projects. I've been sewing since I was 9 years old; right now I'm making memory bears.

I checked my Artificial Orange and it was also really really separated with black splotches, it took ALOT of shaking on my vortex shaker to get it looking right. 🤣

Coney Island Cotton Candy is my only OPI and mine's nasty now too. I was so disappointed when it turned bc when I was young I thought OPI was such a big deal, and saved up for it bc I was fascinated by Coney Island and circus sideshows, and now it looks like garbage lol

For the Nicki polishes, I think that since you already have them it would not be bad to keep them. On the other hand, will they make you feel icky? Will you purposefully have to wear them when you aren't shooting or taking pictures?
