Scott and Teri I was so happy to see y’all meet back up with your tribe. It brought tears to my eyes. Your new home is coming together really nice and before you know it it will be exactly the way you want it. We use the exact same shoe storage in our bathroom. I am also buying two more to cut into sections to go into the girls bunkhouse in our rig so they can roll up their outfits and have one section for small toys and dolls.

I lived in Mississippi for about 6 years. On my way to the doctor we passed a cotton field and we stopped and I picked up a bunch of cotton. I put it in an old milk bottle that sits on my self. I am so glad I did. We have been gone from Mississippi for almost 13 years. I will never pass that way again but I took a piece of her with me.

I think you'll be very happy with your Lance. I bought a 1010 new in 2003 and still have it today. I love it. Yours is just a little bigger than mine. I wanted that model but the dealership said it was too much for my truck considering the trailer load of dirt toys I was towing. Enjoy, and be safe!

Congratulations on getting life back together after a nasty experience. My wife and I have been enjoying our "1010" since 2005 and with her retirement this year we managed 18K miles this summer all the way to Northern Alaska and back from NY. Regarding the Lance power cord the wiring is important for proper use of the refrigerator while travelling. I wired the 40 amp lead through the upfitter switches on our F350. I mounted the receptical in the wall of the P/U box adjacent to the door under the sink to the truck bed. It is important to use 8 gauge wire to ensure full amperage to the refrig. Providing you have a battery saver (standard on most Lance's) the camper will automatically switch to the on board camper battery when the saver shuts down the truck battery. We found a good savings in propane by running the refrigerator on DC while traveling and any time we stopped the chore is to remember to switch back to propane to save the battery for our down time. With adequate sunshine the 360 watts of solar will maintain the battery up to 2 hours before voltage starts to drop (depending on the starting temp in the refrig.) Also I built a cutting board which sits on the counter (rubber feet) and covers the stove top. It has a small block on the back which nestles into the grate and it stores nicely to the left of the stove. The metal cover is pretty crappy: useless is the best term I can find. It went to the scrap yard along with the ridiculously flimsy mounts and now the walnut board is available as additional counter space and can easily still be used over on the table. The upper bunk, I believe, is rated at 70 lbs. I will be building a new front for ours with more doors for better access without having to drop the whole front. We love our Lance and enjoy the places and spaces open to a unit the size of a truck camper. No slides and frills, just honest good times. Heading to the Canadian Maritime provinces this year then back to Alaska year next. Glad you are back and healthy. Merry Christmas! (or other.)

I am going to retire in a couple of years.... Relay like the idea of a trunk camper.... But not sure I will be physically a led to get in one.... Please show how you get into the truck camper. Also wondering about climbing into the bed area???? Is it difficult... I had a failed hip surgery so have some physical limitations.... How do get in and out of that bed? Please demonstrate that.
