I think Bob might be a living Saint. What a special man. It's a shame... as surprisingly large as this community is, it is still such a small segment of the population. I think if a broader audience knew what Bob is out there doing for so many people, from so many walks of life, I think he would be able to help even more people. He's truly inspirational. He does so much and he's so practical and humble about it all. Thank you, Bob!

I'm not sure how people end up in situations where your only hope is getting moved into a van with a sleeping bag and a couple of duffle bags of possessions, but the help and humanity that you have given to this lady ( and so many others that I have seen in your videos) is amazing. You are one in a million and are making positive changes for so many people. I don't know what many people, especially women, would have done without you sharing your expertise in making the van a home. I am positive you have given many people back dignity and hope for their happy future. Not everyone starts off wanting to live in a van but for those that did it out of necessity you have tremendously helped them. I dont know them or you, but I thank you for helping them. It inspires me to be more helpful to others. We never know when that little boost we give someone might just be a real life changer.

What you are doing with RTR is amazing and inspirational... the help you give to people starting out is outstanding and you created your own huge community of people from all over the world that are wanting to live nomadically I’ve been interested in this kind of life for a while now but I am still stuck on how to get the money to start off ( I have bills and help my grandma who I live with) and I am having a dilemma on how to make something that can double as an art studio, mixed media is messy and takes up space for all the supplies and I’m atm moving my craft room so as I’m doing that I’m downsizing and getting rid of stuff and I have an issue throwing out things that are still usable for someone else I wanna find people who are into mixed media art who have a faster turnaround for projects, if I had more time to spend crafting I’d have less of a back up of supplies for projects that I have yet to start it’s rather sad when you love doing something but you have no time for it because you’re working all day at a job where you feel under appreciated and underpaid I love my customers ( most of them lol) but I’d rather be at home making jewelry and setting up things for the business I’m trying to start of me selling my artwork I’m only 24 so I’m I have time but I feel like I wasted more than three years of my life on being an active heroin addict ( where I basically was living in my car since I spent most of my time driving and sitting in my car lol ..... I miss being mobile but I definitely don’t miss the drugs.... I hope I can figure out how to achieve my goals and dreams before I am physically unable to do what needs to be done to achieve them.... thanks for all the wonderful information and inspiration you spread to us all

Sharky There must have been mental illness in that situation. 😞

To both of you why do you think she was not enjoying her life without the money? And why do you always assume it's mental health issues?! We have a local man, he is extremely well off and is mentally healthy! He walks all over town, picking up trash everywhere and lives in a tent behind one of our major stores by choice! He is a highly educated man and lost the love of his life and decided to set out and find community! He enjoys living off the land and meeting many different people!

I agree, it sounds like a myth. Every city has one of those stories. Generally it’s not true. And if it was, it goes without saying it would be mental illness. People don’t live outside on a bench if they are mentally well. Common sense would tell u that. I was homeless for a long time. I saw it all.

Bob. This brought tears to my eyes. You are such a blessing to so many people in the tribe. The kindness you show and giving of yourself to others in need speaks volumes about the person you are. I have been watching for a long time. It took me a while to figure out how to comment but now I'm able. I can see the joy and thankfulness in Debra for all the help she has received from you and others. Why can't there world be this way? Folks are just so lost in a world that just takes from everyone. Giving is much better than taking. Bless your heart. I hope to join your tribe someday.

Bob i was touched listening to this lady that you not only interview but you also help like this lady who would otherwise not have that insulation or heating without your help or suggestion. I am really a fan now. Thanks for the inspiration.

Where do you find friends like these? I need this! I have great friends but I'm not sure if they would know my needs if I lived in a van. It seems like you all have developed a little family all over the states.

This video was one of the first I watched last year (2017) as I was seriously contemplating this life style. I never forgot Debra. Now I have a van and am beginning to get it ready! (yea! I'm insulated!) I am so glad I came back to watch this and to be inspired by the simplicity. I have been complicating things because after watching hundreds more I got caught up in these van build perfectionist's bells and whistles and forgot about the basics. That mentality is holding me back from getting out of "Dodge." Thank you Bob and Debra for this re-run and reality check for the push toward freedom.. once again.
