Rogue Zero, I didn’t believe it at first. My son, so successful at taking the moon and holding off hundreds of Guardians to continue our conquest. So when I heard that six of those light bearers went down into his home turf and into his throne world and killed him, I didn’t believe it. But then I heard the scream he cast, and I felt his soul absent from his throne world, and I was devastated.

Benjamin I think that forsaken had a better story. By forsaken I mean caydes death all the way to shattered throne and queens court. But I think TTK had better missions

@@nickpaccione7346 Ya maybe - but I think the locations, characters, cutscenes, and mission structure were far better in TTK. I really don't like the bloating in Forsaken and the adventure portion to slay the barons felt kinda fetchy (could possibly be due to me running forsaken 4-5 times). I personally like Kings Fall the most as well; although, both did a good job and continuing the story into the raid. I found it to be a little weak that they had to kill off the only "good" character just to grab the attention of the dying player base at the time. Just to clarify, it was kinda the only move they could pull due to the other characters being pretty vanilla and uninteresting. Most destiny campaigns tend to start off very strong or at least have a very cinematic intro mission then end up falling to the same bland tropes. Taken King was the most consistently good. That's just my opinion though!

Benjamin I totally agree with you. I think in general TTK was better, but story wise forsaken was. I think that forsaken was better because it goes all the way from caydes death to savathuns curse, and it does a great way of spanning in between. I do think that the mission structure could use some work and hunting down the barons did get pretty boring and repetitive at sometimes. And also they killed off cayde because he was the only character with character development. Let’s be honest at the time no one would have cared if they killed of Ikora or Zavala. But after forsaken they did start working on development for other characters.

@@nickpaccione7346 Mostly agreed. I just like Oryx a lot more than the big eyeball, so personally I'll give TTK the upper hand. But I definitely see where you are coming from, the post campaign in Forsaken was done incredibly well! It's just sad that every expansion can't be at these levels. There is such varying quality in Destiny's content its hard to keep playing. I've recently uninstalled d2 after being a huge fan and sticking through it since vanilla. Hope to come back in Sept tho!

Benjamin I definitely agree with you about oryx being a better boss then the eyeball, I also think that TTK and forsaken are the two best dlc’s in destiny’s history and they pretty much saved both games. They both brought in a new enemy race, had an amazing story, and great post campaign content. I also agree with you about TTK having the upper hand. I hope you eventually play again sometime and enjoy it👍

Theres actually really good lore surrounding why cayde acts more like a funny guy in Destiny 2. Part of it is explained in lore tabs, more in the "The Man They Called Cayde" lore book from Forsaken. Basically due to the trauma of having his light stripped and nearly dying permanently during the Red War, cayde went into a "Jester personality" (idk who it was, but it someone definitely said it) to try and cope and brighten up his and others days. In TMTCC, its also revealed that his "queen" and his son, "ace" are completely made up, and he fell back on them in order to cope with feeling alone, which is incredibly sad, and makes his character much deeper and more relatable

Being honest here, but watching this really warns my heart. The taken king was definitely the best time I had in destiny 1. The story really felt like we were at war, the taken were invading everthing, planets and even strikes.

This expansion saved destiny for me, d2 had a very rough start over the first few years but bungie started listening and implementing features that were removed from d2 launch and it slowly started to become much better, as of now i think d2 is in a really good state. has much more to offer then d1 ever did but that doesnt mean d1 had some of the best cinematics, voice lines, raids, and so on. i hope the witch queen will be just as monumental as the taken king considering we know we will be returning to the dreadnaught thanks to some of the lore books but on top of that we are also getting a whole new planet, fingers crossed its the hives home planet

It's possible. Taken king and forsakens story are so interconnected that it feels like it's the only storyline they really care about making continuous. Wouldn't be surprised if they had forsakens story concept and the ideas around what would happen next shortly after or even during taken Kings development

I...might actually start a new character and bring my best friend with me. Me and her haven't PLAYED Destiny 1 in a long time. We started it up about a month ago but only for like 30 minutes and then went back to something else. We used to do raids back to back and on weekends we would help new players or just people who haven't done the raid yet. I don't even know how many times we did VOG and KF but holy shit that was definitely some of the most fun we've had in a game. Closest would probably be when I got her to play dead space 3 and that was close only because we were...well we did not take it seriously and found ways to break the game 😅
