I have a lead from gold/voltshot that absolutely shreds ads in Onslaught. Great ammo economy, nice damage against majors, respectable damage against bosses. Such a good gun. Now I just need an Impulse Amplifier/Voltshot roll and I'm set.

I've had a Lead from Gold/Deconstruct one sitting around, getting occasional GM use because it's great at stunning barrier champs, and then Onslaught dropped and it suddenly has nearly 4000 kills on it. You can borderline just use it the entire 10-wave activity, occasionally chucking a rocket at an overload champ and other beefy targets, and you'll only run out if you waste a bunch (or if you started the activity low on ammo--why going to orbit doesn't fill your guns, Bungie, I will never understand). Fun fact: this gun has an interesting interaction with ammo finders (and possibly Buried Bloodline does too, don't have it so not sure; going off the data compendium which says this applies to the rocket-assisted sidearm frame). Ammo finders progress on a counter system, and primary weapons go faster than special weapons on it--but Indebted Kindness is treated as a primary for some reason, and so you'll get more finder bricks from it than getting a comparable number of kills with Forbearance etc. I did another few runs of Warlord's Ruin the other day and got two Adagio rolls to drop, so testing that out as well. I'm hoping that Adagio will help secure collateral kills (in a similar way that a blast radius increase would do more damage to secondary targets) in such a way that Deconstruct's ammo refund is unnecessary. Though Deconstruct is also nice for pesky Shriekers... No Voltshot ones yet, so can't report on that.

Weirdly enough, i prefer adagio over voltshot because the damage boost paired with the beacon round tracking allows this gun to track and deal more damage after 1 kill and its tracking gets more and more aggressive the more kills you get.

If you got a Strand Titan you can easily Farm IT with Lamento or tractor Most people that Run 1840 are pretty good and know what to do i Farm IT for artifice Armor and Nobody Talks and get's it done pretty much every time once you have a Team that seems to Work they will Run IT again and again pretty chill tbh

I did it with my buddy like 3 times then I solod it after they got off, zero indebted kindness rolls. Did a full run right before all this and got a beacon permeability which is alright, good for strand until the strand rocket one comes, but DAMN I really hope I get it soon. Liar’s handshake arc hunter goes hard on it btw, like 3-4phase solo

I have Lead/Adagio, and its practically its primary weapon that uses special ammo. I never run out of special and the rpm reduction from adagio is barely noticeable, but the +30% damage boost is very much so, and the duration on the perk too makes it an easy and reliable chain into the next kill. All that plus Hard Launch/Implosion/Velocity masterwork makes the projectile super reliable to hitting stuff before it moves, and honestly the gun's base reload is fast enough anyway that an arc loader makes it completely bearable.

I like deconstruct because you basically never run out of ammo. Especially if you are the person on the team prioritizing the higher hp enemies. Also it's great for breaking shields on things that an exotic primary will struggle with if it's not the same elemental type.

Permeability is amazing on the pocket rocket when combined with Gyrfalcon. I was two or three shotting yellow bar enemies in Onslaught, and overload champions were getting nuked without being stunned.

If you're using it on an Arc subclass you can use the fragment that makes your special ammo shots do a blinding explosion so in addition to it being antibarrier, the blind can stun unstoppable champions, and I think jolt stuns overload champions as well?

The indebtedness, to me has always been a great situational weapon. The version I use is a Hunter GF Void build with permeability/beacon roll. Why mess with volt shot when you can have much more ad clear with a 100% uptime using volitile rounds. I use this when I want an exotic in another slot and do not rock my bloodlines.

Really don't understand Tassi's problem with crafting weapons. I'd much rather craft a weapon, be guaranteed to get exactly the one I want, and be able to craft ones suited for either pvp or pve. AFAIC, that's much better than having to farm/grind for weapons and deal with D2's criminally bad RNG. If the odds of getting a good roll were more reasonable, then I would be more willing to farm/grind.

Yeah i agree that it's probably the best weapon in the game. It makes onslaught so easy and i love beacon rounds personally because it lets me be lazy and i just hip fire the thing most of the time. I also think legendaries are getting powercrept so much that many are better than exotics.

I play onslaught with arc hunter, mountain top, indepted, and overture, and never run out of ammo! And the rare occasions I run out of special ammo, i just use overture and it almost instantly drops special ammo, haven't tried this build on legend but its very fun in normal

Been solo farming this weapon on first boss, you can do it in 10 minutes per run, the only down side right now is the extra steps you need to take in the prison cell puzzle because it's glitched right now, but still once you get it it's pretty fast to workaround, the side arm is totally worthy.

Why do the puzzle? Go to orbit and the loot goes to your postmaster And a full team of 3 will either 1 or 2 phase the boss, making each run only a few minutes long

I wish they released a weaker frame shotgun with lower damage but super high reserve ammo. Better for ad clear or yellow bars but not amazing DPS. I love using shotguns in pve but ammo just gets burned so fast. It would be very average in PvP and always be a 2-3 shot kill but just very fun for pve shotgun builds.

Here's a video idea and I mean it in good faith: Could you explain why you and other content creators seem to think weapon crafting is a bad thing? I'm being serious because I can't really understand the downside of it. Honestly it seems like long term D2 players want to pull the ladder up behind them more than they have any real concern about the effects of weapon crafting on the health of the game. Even in this video you sort of make light of people farming this weapon for the ideal roll like there are unlimited hours in the day in which to accomplish this. Personally it took me almost 2 weeks to farm Warlord's Ruin to finally get a voltshot drop and after that I didn't want to do it again. I don't play this game professionally; I don't write about or otherwise cover games for a living so investing double digit hours of my life battling RNG to farm the correct perks on a weapon gets me feeling like I'm wasting those hours. I'm really curious if someone can provide a meaningful insight into just what the issue with weapon crafting is. Even within the 'rules' of the world of Destiny we can generate a Sparrow out of mid air though the magic of glimmer so how exactly does it make sense that we wouldn't be able to customize our weapons exactly how we want them? Paul probably won't respond to this and I'm not a twitter user so chances are this will go unanswered, but I'd really appreciate it if the community that seems to find weapon crafting so distasteful could explain why beyond just broadly gesturing at "Weapon Crafting Bad".

Best of all worlds is my IK with permiability and impulse amplifier, final warning precious scars strand Titan build with triple tap onslaught Mercado. With triple strand surge I simply pop a barricade and go to town and dump with IK mini nuke strand rockets. Then when I have no more special and heavy I use Final warning to rip and roll any type of enemy except those damn shreikes

It's a matter of preference, but I prefer Impulse Amplifier over Beacon Rounds

Not better but different. I have both with Voltshot and prefer Beacon. Beacon requires a kill, the same as Voltshot so it pairs nicely. The thing is people just don't utilize Beacon to the fullest or understand when its working. With Impulse it's always active and not only does it give you the increased projectile speed, it gives you faster reload. It requires no requirement so it's always a good perk. However like I said, I prefer Beacon. One kill then you've got tracking rounds. All you have to do to track them is to highlight the target with your cross hair (if the middle dot turns red, they're in range). Then just shoot. It doesn't matter where you're aiming. As long as you've highlighted one target you can be behind cover and shoot at a 90 degree angle and get all your shots. What I do is I kill a red bar for Beacon and reload for Volt, then I quickly highlight a champ or major, then you just shoot and as long as nothing gets inbetween the shots, it'll always hit that target constantly proccing the Voltshot bursts until they die.

Impulse not only increase velocity nicely, the reload speed makes proccing voltshot very quick because it obviously requires you to reload after a kill before proccing. You want that reload speed to be as quick as possible then you can just spam voltshot at everything over and over
