So fun fact: The Jotunn was called "The Toaster" by the community because of how it looked, and it got so big that Bungie ended up putting out an actual Toaster that looks like the gun. It even toasts the Black Armory symbol on your bread. Also, I stepped away for one second, and I heard the Jotunn sound effect in the trailer and got a PTSD Flashback😂😂😂 That gun was such a menace when it came out

The music you hear around 11:50 is actually from a Destiny christmas event called the dawning it plays like christmasy music when you are in the tower and Ada 1 is located in the tower

Fun fact: the Black Armory is one of few organizations to exist before and after the Collapse. A few problems is that they lost a few of their personel and assets to raiding lighterbears called "Warlords"( we used to know them as evil guardians who used their powers for their own gain ).

So this video didnt give much context on "The Draw" quest. Makes sense since it was just dialogue. The Last Word is the gun you get in that quest and it is the gun used by Shin Malphur or "The Man with the Golden Gun". Shin's whole reputation is that he hunts down and kills guardians who stray too far from the light. Drifter is a character who likes his gray area. He utilizes darkness and has friends who do too. He also has a history with Shin. This quest was sort of Shin's first contact with you in D2 and Drifter is warning you that Shin might not be trustworthy.

@senatorarmstrong4662 I was leaving it out since it's technically spoilers, but Shin is 100% OK with using the Darkness. He created the Shadows of Yor to explore ways to use it without going evil and hunting down Dredgen, who go too far. I don't know what his current status is, tho. He just kinda disappeared after helping craft the Lumina.

Love these videos you guys! During this time in Destiny there were 3 seasons in between major expansions (Foresaken, Shadowkeep, Beyond Light, etc...), but now-a-days there are 4 seasons in between major expansions.

Ada also was just so introverted in general. She spent the entire Red War literally inside a wall. Not even the occupying Red Legion noticed she was there. She didn't even make any friends at all until long after the Red War when Hawthorn (the lady with the falcon) asked about all the noise she was making.

This is...not one of the better seasons for storytelling. It does get better though, this was the early days of the seasonal system and they were really trying to figure out how to best deliver the story. Don't worry, future seasons are much meater and get better and better as you progress.

Ada’s story is a rough one. She was born toward the end of the Golden Age as Adelaide Meyrin, daughter of Henriette Meyrin one of the three founders of the Black Armory. When the Darkness came and the Collapse began the vault they had sealed themselves in was attacked and one of the founders, Helga Rasmussen, died. Adelaide herself, who was only twelve, had been gravely wounded so her mother and Yuki Satou (the third founder) transferred her consciousness into the chassis that would become Ada-1. Over time everyone but her died by various means, be it the Darkness, the Hive, Eliksni, or Lightbearers.

Ada has kinda hated guardians since we met her. Although overtime she did gain the ability to tolerate us (it was like 3 years) she sold some of the best weapons that everyone loved, only for them to all get removed at the launch of beyond light. The sniper shown at the beginning is actually designed to resemble a sword and features the ability to collapse its entire magazine into one terrifyingly powerful bullet. Jotun (the explosive fusion rifle) is universally loved and hated by players simply because its projectiles have tracking and can usually oneshot players in PVP. Le Monarque is the well loved poisonous bow that not many people seem to dislike, it's poison is powerful but balanced and the ability to spread the poison with a headshot makes it incredibly useful. Anarchy (the grenade launcher) was a raid exclusive weapon that could create chains of lightning between it's grenades wherever they landed or you just landed all of them on a boss and watch as their health drained from the lightning. This wasn't the prettiest season in destiny but the equipment made it fun and interesting especially because they let us forge our own gear. Edit: She also allowed us to add radiance to our weapons to both boost its stats and give it a cool visual addition. The music 11:58 is from the Christmas event! The music always gives a good vibe but kills the tension in these scenes lol. Drifter doesn't hate us only the history with the owner of the gun we got, it's a long messy story of betrayal and death which left him as the last man standing if I recall. As for why there wasn't any gameplay of the missions it's mostly due to how bland and long they are. They were mostly puzzles and defending the thing as it did the good thing, the only real dialogue was Ada yelling at us to defend the thing and to defend it better if we started losing. Like I said earlier this was kind of a messy season as it was Bungie's first time doing a season like this so there were many things that had to be ironed out. Apart from that it was a relatively good introduction to new content while we waited for the next major storyline to be released.

20:16 actually there’s probably thousands of lines per season u will miss out on said during the missions, but they’re usually more lore related than main story quest related. They say random lines during the coop activities and new lines r introduced as a seasonal story goes on. Aka the first 200 lines of dialogue it pulls from are more hostile while u play the activity from ada. Then as she warms up to u the next 200 u may here and 200 after that again have new lore and stuff as she opens up more and more. This is even moreso the case now. Then on top of that there’s the lore books ofc. Dw ankh that stuff u can always watch more recent Byf videos instead of going through 2hrs of dialog per season lol.

The “back of her head” is the obsidian accelerator, an augment that allows her body to act like a mobile forge; think like Tony Starks nanite core or somethin.

Destiny 2 went free-to-play right before Forsaken so they adopted the seasonal model, this season is really just Bungie experimenting with what works (lots of grinding for weapon parts not a lot of characters or cutscenes), but later seasons have really good stories that can top certain expansion like *cough* Lightfall. Seasons of the Splicer, Chosen, Haunted, Seraph and Arrivals are my favorite

Also a new deranged fallen faction: The Kell's Scourge, led by Siviks spiders less cooperative brother. Like some villians he promised a new future and justice against the Guardians but we all know that his underlings are just a means to an end.

Izanagi’s burden is an exotic sniper rifle with 4 rounds in the magazine. It’s exotic perk combines all 4 rounds into 1 mega round. Forgot putting a bullet between someone’s eyes, you’ll straight up decapitate them. There’s also a cocktail called Izanagi’s burden you can find in the Destiny cookbook(yes, they made a Destiny themed cookbook)

The bright music in some of these cutscenes is probably because parts of the recordings were recorded during the Destiny Christmas event. Also this is one of the seasons/dlcs that really requires the context that is given in Byf’s lore summaries.

The Black Armory existed before the collapse and is a relic of the golden age. The personal journals of the founder include detailed accounts of the collapse as they were bunkered down and hidden from creaters seemingly having origins from Yhe Darkness.

An interesting fact about Ada: Going back to the knowledge of the Exo race (such as members like Cayde-6 or Banshee-44), if you recall, the number next to their names reference the number of times their minds have been reset. Where Cayde-6 was reset his "6" times and Banshee-44 was reset his absurd number o "44" times, Ada-"1" has never been reset. Since the moment that she became an exo she has lived on to carry forward the legacy of the Black Armory. So while many have lost memories or started over as people, Ada-1 has lived for centuries working in the shadows to empower the people of humanity to help them protect themselves in the face of the Collapse of the Traveler. Edit: The piece that we found that she reattached to the back of her head was a storage device for a large number of memories that had been taken from her for her protection.

This video was missing a whole lot of context due to not containing the gameplay and much of the seasonal story being in text. Maybe it would be good to watch a story video breaking down the season by Byf or someone like him, also the context of the very end with the drifter talking about the gun is something you guys should watch a dedicated video for, the story of Dredgen Yor, an in-universe legend that becomes very important to know during the season after this one -edit: and by "missing context" I actually mean "Missing the story entirely" as literally all we get to see is "I'm Ada-1, I don't like guardians, you helped me, now I do, oh cool a head thing, glowie time, founder was my mother :D"

Well, considering when guardians where first popping up after the collapse it was a lawless civilization-less world they were being revived into with absolutely no memory of who they were, so it was pretty easy for them to use they’re new found super mpowere and nigh immortal lifespan to become dictators and warlords. So Ada-1 has a pretty good reason to not like guardians

Theres a lot youre missin out on here as there isnt the context of all the lore pages. This seasons was lacking in story delivery but it made up for it in gameplay. One of the best seasons with some of the best loot we've had in game. Though the legendaries have been sunset and we cannot use them in current level activities, the community begs for them to be reprised. So as you might know, before the City was made around the time people were first coming back as "Guardians" they were called the "Risen" and a lot of them ended up becoming warlords. Ada's mother and Founder of the Black Armory was killed by Lightbearing Warlords. Its why she doesnt have a very positive opinion of Lightbearers. The Black Armory was made to provide power to the defenseless. Those without Light. She comes around, and now shes quite nice. I believe that piece of herself we found as a unique part of her exo body that made her a Forge in and of herself. The Sniper that Ken said looked like a sword does in fact look like a sword on purpose. It makes sword noises, and its exotic perk is called Honed Edge. Its a sniper that allows you to combine up to 4 bullets into 1 for a crazy powerful shot. You guys should react to Byf's video on the full story of the Last Word and Thorn. The Last Word is that weapon the Drifter didnt like seeing in your hands.

Loved the gameplay of Black Armory but the story didn't quite hit how I wanted it to. Looking forward to the next 2 seasons but do take into account that these 3 seasons/the year of Forsaken - Shadowkeep, had very little in relation to the overall story. Thankfully that aspect of the seasons has been greatly improved upon since then

This season along with the next two are kinda little on the story an big on the lore. If you're no reading the lorebooks ingame, you're missing like 50-75% of the 'story', unfortunately. Even the season that comes with Shadowkeep isn't really great, as most seasons that come with an expansion does. But most season after that are really good.
