Most of the content is rehashed and reskinned. Most of the storylines are weak with very little to no depth. There are so many nerfs and buffs that only reflect how Bungie wants you to play. There should have been new chapters off of Destiny 2, not just reflecting the main story but all the plots that could have been explorered. New characters and new worlds should have been explored with more activity happening in them other then just walking into an empty environment. For all the hard work they claimed to have done - the overall affect is a general laziness.

While I don’t agree with the whole “d3 will save destiny” thing, I do agree with them giving no reason to stay post final shape. A lot of that is due to marathon pulling devs to work on it, which makes no sense right now, and back then when they announced it, meaning devs were being pulled to focus on marathon for a few years now. It makes no sense because destiny is their ONLY source of revenue, they have no other active ip, which is why they’re starting marathon, but “time and place” it’s not the time and hasn’t been the time since lightfall to take your focus off your only money maker which hasn’t been doing well for years

In regards to KWTD, some people learn better by doing. They can watch hours of guides and it just does not sink in. Bungie has failed to recognize this and has failed to create a program to reward those who are willing to teach and guide people in the game. For new players you just about have to have youtube open on another screen to get tips and advice that otherwise should be in game.

D1 had just the right amount of mechanics. D2 has been down right F miserable! There little to no fun to be had anymore. Little room to make any mistakes or it’s a wipe. Wrath of the Machine was the perfect balance and was fun the entire time. Activision was never the problem, they knew how to make great gameplay.

It’s not a fun game playing solo, pretty much my friends stopped playing. Same strikes, same pvp game modes, gambit hasn’t had any updates. Then these holiday events have been the same thing for years! Don’t care about baking cookies anymore. Halloween event is not fun, I don’t wanna constantly run lost sectors. Haven’t played the game in 3 months and I have 7000+ hours in this game. I uninstalled the game for the first time the other day to download another game.

I'm playing Helldivers 2 and POE 2. Bungie put flavor in the final shape. They added in the richness of story, but they forgot to put in the meat in for the endgame. It's like no one at bungie played through the story and then asked, "what's next?". Plus, rewards versus time investment isn't there. It hasn't been there since they added artifice armor in the game. I've run the same armor for years. I didn't play destiny for 6 months here recently, got on, and still ran my same builds with the same armor and guns with little issue. Nothing is shifting, nothing is new, it's the same grind with 0 rewards. Eververse has 98% of the cosmetic items, the other 2% is shit. Everything that used to be something you could show off because it required skill is gone. It's sad. I started back when crota came in d1. It was an adventure, and d1 had banger after banger all culminating with year 3 d1. Then they shit the bed with d2 and they keep shitting it throughout these last 6 years. Bungie needs to give us our WHY back. Why do this activity? Why run a raid? Why run a dungeon? Why take on this difficult activity? It seems the why bungie thinks we play for is bright dust, vendors, multiple selection screens, and friends. When any gamer actually plays games for notoriety, cool cosmetics that stand out and are hard to obtain, taking skills and time, and rewards like armor and weapons. It's a loooter shooter, and 50% of loot is an instant dismantle, and the other 50% (weapons) are just reskins and reworks of old perks. Where is the creativity?! Where is the ambition?! Now Bungie can sit and think, "Where is the money?" Because until things change, players aren't coming back. It looks like everyone is getting tired of the mediocrity.

The problem with the " just watch a video" idea, is that a lot of the movement and mechanics are completely new to them, and most videos cater to players who are already super familiar with the game, it's terms, and abilities. I carry people through LW every weekend, this is the general concensus from newer players I talk to. They prefer things explained to them.

1. low content to seek (raids/dungeons have few weapons to go after) 2. age of main players (life happens) 2014/2017 majority of players would be adults now (limited times to play due to work/family) 3. little to no excitement in the game. go do this repeatable activity with little enjoyment 4. other games came out that have taken front seat. 5. The modes I once enjoyed or would like to see brought back to some degree Dawnbreak (mayham for pve) gun glitch (crafted weapons that were OP but fun, atleast pve side of things) 6. The bugs are stacking up, between game crashes, error codes, enemies teleporting(spawning out of thin air), blatant hackers who abuse the system with little to no reprocusions. poor load times (open menu/flyins, loadzones) incorect tabs (was looking at destinations/maps, but was displaying pathfinders)

they lost me when I figured out that the entire 3rd part of each of these season's episodes whatever they are called would be just repeating some exotic mission rather than actual story missions... I don't play destiny to do mechanic-based puzzles jump puzzles and mazes ( in raids I suppose its reasonable maybe) I play to shot things and get loot and story while doing it I would come back if all the puzzle shit was removed but I have a feeling a lot of ppl would be pissed about that for some reason... lol so destiny is in quite the pickle it seems

I usually go to the moon to make Banshee's bounties, and when I started playing the game almost a year ago, the place was usually filled with players. Now, it is a miracle to find two people there, no matter the time of day or night. BUNGO ignored the player base for too long. They didn't fix a bunch of bugs, nor did they improve the game. The farm is stale, and the itemization in this game is as shallow as can be.

Destiny 2 has no secondary content outside of limited exploration and fashion. Everything engaging is just the primary game loop. In all the other games I play I can do all kinds of things outside of or adjacent to just combat. In those games I have combat, fashion & exploration as well as socialization, guild and private decoration, vehicle gameplay and those games are better setup for RP and personal narrative crafting

Guardians have gotten stronger but then you have Elitist Datto calling for it to become harder and more challenging. New players have a story that is fragmented to shreds. The fact that theres no PVP focus and Bungie said F U to PVP is going to actually be the death of them. PVPers used to make up like 48% of the player base but now that’s like 15%. When PVE used to be at a low you could play PVP but they killed that. Also, not having loot to chase and having “real” exciting drops is also a problem. Chasing GHorn and Icebreaker were huge incentives kept people around too. The feeling of chasing down PVE weapons to use in PVP is over. Let’s not even mention the cheaters. Destiny dying is completely Bungies fault. Also, ability spam in PVP and taking away from Gun skill in a shooter also pushes people away. Marvel Rivals is the game I play now.

Slowly over time they have reduced incentive to chase anything. Exotics are just given out for free now. What happened to the good days of random drops and excitement. Used to do nightfall on all 3 characters every week just for a chance for Ghorn/Icebreaker. Nothing compares to gameplay changing exotics dropping randomly and hitting you with that dopamine. Nowadays everything is handed out and it’s pushed me away. Additionally, PvP players went like 3 years or more if I remember correctly without a new map. If that’s not neglecting half of your playerbase idk what is. What made Destiny so unique was the fact you could go into PVE and get amazing loot to bring into PvP. Bungie cut the legs off for half their player base and have a terrible anti cheat. Hard to invest heavily into a game that the developers don’t care about. Additionally, dying instantly to ability spam with no true chance to counter play doesn’t give the casual PVPer and opportunity to overcome a mistake and learn. So yeah there’s plenty that Bungie has done to destroy their game especially for PVPers and the excitement of loot and the integrity of the game.

Bungie should look at a way where both sides benefit because it is understandable not wanting to repeat smth 50 times but also understandable not wanting your experience to be on anything less than the game itself.

when I'm on Xbox i look for lfg it use to be where that page would be spammed with lfg groups. now there's no one lfging on the page its pretty sad.

Yeah it’s gotten pretty bad. I remember when Crota’s End launched on D2 and the lfg posts were in the thousands. Now the game is just too easy and no one wants to play because of it.

There is no reason to grind in the game cause no matter what I’m going to be under leveled cause they take my power away if I’m close to the level of the boss then let me fight at that level don’t make me grind for no reason if it’s going to be capped at what I’m playing

Its 100% on Bungie. Everyone I knew in my clan bought deluxe versions every xpac, occasional eververse purchases, Destiny made it on steams toplists many times. Greed has ruined this game, and it sucks.

They legit said to our "faces" that they don't want to give out actual good content basically until it's needed and then there's the whole thing of them being able to sunset EVERYONES dlc, weapons or whatever the case is and that alone made so many players leave like me because at the end of the day it's really like, ok sure I can play this game and have fun with friends but there really isn't a point if anything can be deleted and pvp is bad so that just leaves pve and we all know there legit isn't anything to do in pve but grind for God rolls. That's why I haven't came back because even with new subclasses, the game stays the EXACT same and it's boring bruh

What did you expect? The story concluded, the episodes/Acts are tragic, the Dawning was bug filled, the ppl supporting the game are minimal with everyone gone on Marathon (good luck with that...) and cheaters are all over.... What did you expect?....

i think the problem is that we need to find a fire team for anything worth doing give everything a solo scaling option and add matchmaking to everything and it will bring in more people i cant stand playing with people i don't no personally in this game the lfg is crap iv never had 1 party where we just do it there is drama and bs in every single group its just pointless to try solo is way more fun

10 year Vet here, its ok if you guys dont enjoy D2, but the game is still very much alive for me and my Fireteam. We are here till we become disabled or the servers shut down like true veterans of the franchise. I've always had an opinion of destiny 2, and its the fact that they focus too much on the idea of teamwork and friends and what not. I don't think they realize that people separate and grow apart and that just doesn't work for Bungie since a lot of the content they make is solely focused on those ideologies, which just ultimately will kill the game, players won't be able to play raids anymore or dungeons unless they try to solo them for 52 hours straight. However you did suggest a great idea for the bots and what not but I don't even know how they would do that with raids having to be so complex, plus it may take sway the suspense from wiping since it wouldnt be a problem if you've got ai doing it for you, but I guess there really wasn't much suspense in destiny 2 anyway lol so I guess that argument don't work.

That's why it takes forever to get even a quickplay match. One of the weekly challanges was comp this week and it took FOREVER to complete and some of the same ppl were in every match. I'm guessing that's why the match balancing is so bad also now with people of wildly different levels of skill on each team no matter your rank. There's alsp probably plenty like me who haven't touched comp since my placement matches to get the curated shotty with lone wolf/closing time and with score degradation taking you down to silver and just played this week for the challange. The snake draft thing seems to not be able to work with this low population as games were widely mismatched each one.

the destiny killer is destiny. if you think people are gonna watch videos so the can do a stupid raid you are insane, that's what killed destiny. raids use to be fun not anymore.
