Look at bungie during Halo they wanted to move on after 2 but contracted to make 3, reach and odst. It’s an entire studio culture. My whole two cents: Bungie will continue to struggle. The recent game they've been working on in years (Marathon) has not shared no info, trailers, or anything. Add that with the layoffs suggesting low funds with losing quality talent, there is no way they even have the means to start working on D3. You can't ask a studio that has been spending money on a project to NOT release it, not make any money from it, in order to work on ANOTHER project to spend money on. They are in no position to make something new. All they got rn are D2 and Marathon. Even harder to make improvements when they are putting efforts just to not sink completely.

I just don't understand why much needed and requested changes take so long. Crafting came in TWQ when we've been dealing with a pure RNG system for years before it. Also they need to stop holding massive changes behind expansions as a selling point. Some people won't make it to the next expansion if the seasons leading to it are subpar or bad.

Marathon is straight up one of those IP's that only people know who've played it in the past.. If you ask the average gamer these days "Have you ever heard about a game called Marathon??", they will simply reply with "Marathon? What is that?/What is Marathon?"... Not only was developing Marathon a complete waste of resources, but the audience also simply isn't there.. Not only do you need to have a huge following/playerbase to make it a success, you also need to retain the attention of that same playerbase in order to sustain yourself with over the upcoming years.. if you fail in either of those 2 departments, you are straight up doomed to fail.. Which is what will 100% happen, especially when you look at how stacked 2025 is with GTa 6 coming out...

I dont see marathon selling enough to break even for a number of reasons but one aspect of this that I think destiny players are going to get mad about is when marathon finally drops gameplay. If there are certain gameplay elements that are really good, people are going to get mad that those kinds of improvements or updates went towards this game rather than destiny.

The removal of Marty O'Donnel started the dominos. It infuriated the playerbase and all constructive criticisim went out the window. Then bungie fired even MORE employess, and the forums became a rolling dumpster fire. I feel like they should stop with the seasonal one off activities. They all feel similar or iterative and only serve as a filler for the seasonal quest that they stopped time gating. The Coil was cool, but i'd have preferred a strike or new crucible/gambit maps. None of the seasonal stuff even stays in the game after the next annual expansion anyways. How is a new light meant to hop in and enjoy "The Coil" if it's gone by the time they decide to hop in? Another bit, it feels like the Battlegrounds have taken the place of strikes, and in my opinion, they feel lazy. Maybe a bit less lazy compared to shoehorning strikes into the campaign by just making the mission into a strike, i'm looking at you Curse of Osiris and Warmind, but still Lazy. Strikes in my opinion should be used to accentuate the story and flesh out the universe. For example, Look at the Shield Brothers strike. We saw the Cabal had tried to launch an attack on the Dreadnaught by ramming their ship into it, and they used it as a Beachhead to fight the Hive. Us, being at war with both the Cabal and Hive at the time, sought to take them out to prevent them turning on us in the future. We didnt do it as a campaign mission, it was mentioned in the campaign and was a figurepiece on the dreadnaught, but the focus of the Campaign was the Taken King Hunt. It felt like it was a sort of AFTER YOU FINISH THE CAMPAIGN kind of deal. Now, it feels like Strikes are just a list of Handpicked story missions that have a gimmick that they can add enemies too in order to slap the "Strike/Battlegrounds" label on and call it good. Also, i'm 90000000% Sure that the "Non-Linear" Campaign is just going to be something akin to the MW3 Campaign that was just like 9 maps they developed and called it a day.

The worse part the Gambit and Crucible are lack of players. Always with 4 players if lucky maybe get full team but even so manage to get full team all of a sudden the game just disconnect out until I get this thing that I am not allowed to play them until due date. Vanguard well I am the only one no team been in Vanguard for almost 5 hours not even another player. Free roaming completely quite. If this keeps up Destiny 2 will be dead or maybe players will be back when the next chapter comes.

Bungie is putting all their money on Marathon and that may be their doom. Theyre acting as if the Extraction Shooter fad is/was on the scale of the Battle Royal craze when its not. Combine the lessening interest in the genre, Bungie taking their own studio, reputation and only current profitable franchise, and the choice between pushing 2025 potentially launching a rushed product at the same time as big competitors like GTA6 or delaying to 2026 with uncertainty if Bungie will even survive that long. I did not, however, foresee that every element of the game, including elements that were designed to be more casual were made more difficult as well, changes such as the strike playlist being far more difficult now, bloating, the playtime. Bungie went on record, explicitly stating that the game was getting more difficult to add challenge to all parts of the game, this was at the same time, in parallel with complaints by the elite community that the game was too easy. You, sir, are completely, and factually wrong. Anyone who disagrees with this is coping, hard. It’s very simple, you can track the extremely sharp drop in players almost directly in correlation to the difficulty changes. End of story.

Skull and bones is still live am playing it while watching this video. There are bugs 🐛 from time to time but the Devs are on them as they come in to the game. Every week bug's get fixed. Year one is almost over and they are showing us what's coming up in year two. Again snb has bug's but not as many as D2 does.an snb are not firing there staff like bungo is. I'll give snb one more year until I think it will go down.
