Upper management almost never knows the employees working at their companies. Higher ups probably looked at all these great employee’s names on a piece of paper/file and went “woah their pay and bonuses + unvested shares are really high, we could make a ton off laying them off!” I went on Glassdoor recently and looked at reviews of Bungie. Found out the company has a terrible bro culture where employees who are buddies with those in upper management are disproportionately liked and promoted while on average being way worse workers than fellow employees. So what now has happened is 100 great employees have been laid off while those who are bros with upper management and do nothing to help the company have likely since had pay raises following the layoffs along with potential promotions and greater bonuses on the table. For these reasons, I cannot believe that the Final Shape will be “as good as Forsaken/Taken King” considering the lack of an official delay being confirmed. This along with other breaking points such as reselling my unclaimed Worthy cosmetics at a 970% markup rate along with ever growing eververse prices along with samey seasons and uninteresting loot have led me to under no circumstances ever buy the final shape. As far as I’m concerned, I don’t care whether or not others choose to buy the final shape as it is their wallet but as a destiny player since December 2015, I feel my points are valid and worth considering.

Personally what I was thinking like a new game, free, and designed to bring all the campaigns in both Destiny 1 and 2, along with the seasonal stories remade to be more cinematic to quickly explain the story in the past, and giving small but meaningful rewards in Destiny 2 for each campaign completed.

Rasputin's final moment will always bring tears to my eyes. That was one of the most heartbreaking and defining moments in Destiny for me. I loved all the story moments throughout the years, this game takes a special place in my heart. Excited to see how the saga ends, but also hopeful that the people who create it, heart and soul, are given their due.

@@Know3ody Nope. I still get that feeling with Destiny 1, because it was baked into every aspect of the game's design. The shine in the post processing for example was deliberate, it was to make the future, no matter how bleak or fearful, still beautiful and fascinating. The first game was very down to Earth compared to all this multiple godslayer level bullshit we're doing. Destiny 1 was the better game, objectively through and through. It needs to come back, because it's the only one that's worth anyone's time.

Anyway, I was 17 almost 18 when TTK did come out, but I'll agree Destiny is now better for sure but at the time it really did improve things back then when you compare it to what we had under the Dark Below & House of Wolves. It was my favourite d1 dlc, but I wouldn't want to go back to it now over say Forsaken. Can definitely still appreciate it for the changes it brought through.

Facts. I miss the hunter armor not being all chunky and the 3 eyed mask, taniks cloak, ogre bands, exotics can't touch me, etc. Ugh the greatness back then.. I mean the witcher armor looks dope tho. We dont need more videos, we dont need more spoilers, we dont need more 10 seconds trailer, we dont need more 54 min video of old cutscenes that we can find them everywhere, we need content... Quality content. Not empty towns, useless quests,the same events again and again (easter, Christmas, guardian games) , overpriced DLC that are cut in half and they made no sense at all, recycle content from destiny 1 (half of raids are recycle content). We need back the old destiny 2 with secrets to explore, with meaningful story, with content that you wanted to play again and again because you love them not because you had to... Now destiny feels more like a job/frustration rather than an enjoyable game (and i play this game from the very start till now). I know that nothing will change and my comment its just a waste of time... It's about destruction. That's it. The gardener, or Traveler, creates and the Winnower, or Darkness, destroys

The Darkness is just a force in the Universe, like the Light. The Light is used by Traveler, they are often used as one and the same but they are different. A while back there was thoughts that how the Light is to the Traveler (or Gardener as it has also been called), that there was another to the Darkness, known as the Winnower. Last few expansions we've learned that there is no Winnower, but there is an entity known as The Witness who, seeking this Winnower, effectively became it. It's reasons for chasing down the Traveler, or Gardener as it refers to it, were brought up ingame via a cutscene I recomend checking out during Season of the Deep (search The Witness's Origins Cinematic). Our understanding of what we thought the Darkness is during the Collapse vs what was utilizing the Darkness have come a long way. There's still a great deal of mystery behind it all, and oddly enough we now know more about the Darkness then the Traveler and the Light.

The darkness is the antithesis of the light (no duh) but in-game universe talk, it’s one of two fundamental forces that “shape” the universe and really reality itself. The light exists to put the forces of nature into motion, creating life, cosmic events, and in-game this power is described as occupying “the domain of the physical.” And the darkness exists to shape or manipulate this motion of the universe, and is describe as occupying “the domain of consciousness and emotion” in this way, you can think of darkness as the “rationality” of the universe; a force of purpose and direction. If the universe is a river, the light is what moves the water, and the dark is the direction in which the water moves.

My god I want D1 on PC. 60FPS port of Age of Triumph era is fine with me. I love both equally but there are multiple aspects I love about D1 more than D2, even though D2 has done almost everything better gameplay wise. D1’s locations are larger, have day night cycles, music is top notch and the game’s art style is better. Armour, Gun and even the overall look of the game looks better. Overall, I was a Halo kid and I went with Bungie trying something new and I’ve been a MCC player for reliving my childhood and my teen to now young adult age has been a Destiny fan. Thanks for your creativity and storytelling, I’m glad I trusted you all even if I’ve been disappointed in how things have been at Bungie and in D2 lately.

D1 still had soul. I wish it got a PC port with mod tools, a la MCC / Marathon- Will never happen though, Bungie is too focused on the new and shine live service scam they can come up with

Honestly for me the red war conveyed the most potent feeling of hopelessness and powerlessness I’ve frankly ever experienced in media. For the first 20 minutes of course. Then we got our light back and everything was fine
