One thing I like about Clovis is that, out of all Destiny villains so far, he's the most "realistic" of them, in the sense that people like him do exist and are unfortunately not hard to find at all

I think even better, the ends justified the means. Its a nuanced way of seeing evil actions bring about a greater good. Exos, while imperfect, create an avenue by which humanity, innocent lives and ideas can live on. We always hear about things lost and things missing, and exos create a good branch between that. From Caydes journals, to Exo stranger, to banshee. However, Clovis is truly the worst villian because of his disregard for life, while instead looking at legacy. Everytime I hear him speak, he reminds me of the Darkness, because their goals are currently beyond our understanding. In the books, we find clovis as an Ego maniac who wanted eternal life and legacy, but even his creations exceed that simple goal.

@@larudrew9998 simply, he came down with a terminal illness, due to basically his own families genetic purity. However, he as a man, was a monster. He had a very low moral compass, we ethically repugnant, and did whatever he needed to achieve. His ultimate achievement was the creation of Exos, robots with human brains and consciousness. which meant a human could live on and clone memories forever. This, however, was stopped due to the Vex invasion of Europe, which damage long term memory storage and retrieval. Clovis became a site AI and also created an exo body, which he used to fight off the Vex. Until his new body decided he did not like the way clovis did things, wiped his historical memory. And adopted the name Banshee, a nickname given to him

@@larudrew9998 it is.....thats the worst part. That banshee, with every life he went through, continued to reassess Clovis's ideas and personality. He finally, on the 43rd iteration, decided he couldn't live knowing he was the incarnate version of such a monster. So The exo stranger and he designed a new personality for him, a basic kitbash of all the bray's. Using the last memory containment unit, they uploaded it. Clovis then killed himself, and was reborn into model 44, which the module called him banshee. Banshee has no memory of being clovis, but still has nightmare like imagez.....unfortuantely

The best part is understanding that he made that AI himself, and is probably extremely aware of his personal flaws, as he specifically asks it to suggests gifts she would like using all of the knowledge that is available to him specifically. And even after all of that, while he attempts to do something for her, seemingly because he takes pride in his lineage at least, he still falls back to his flaws, not liking the truth. While he is deplorable, he seems to be very aware of it himself.

Now that we know Clovis Bray was intertwined with the Darkness, isn't it a weird detail that all of Bray technology all the way from Rasputin's bunker to Siva is in the shape of Pyramids. Idk if this was intentional but with all of this it migth not be a coincidence.

I actually have a lightfall theory, we ( the guardians get our a**** handed to us and we have no plan. The vanguard or the “new vanguard” has a plan. We defeat the darkness but in doing so the traveler is destroyed forever. We somehow remake it and send it back in time to Mars “Destiny 1” using the corridors of time. This would help the story because we just “stumbled upon” a floating white ball that can resurrect people and give us powers??? It would make sense if the traveler is from our time and we send it back so we (past) can fight up until the present (us in lightfall)

What if the reason the Traveller never terraformed Titan, Europa, or Enceladus was because they all have some kind of Dark presence there? For example, what if the Leviathan on Titan has been there long before the Hive made it there? The Darkness already seems to have had a presence on Europa too, if the raid is any indication. What about Enceladus then? If Cayde is to be believed, then there’s a good chance that The Long, Slow Whisper is there. And considering that the word “whisper” in Destiny is almost always associated with some Ahamkara, Worm God, or other cosmic being, perhaps CB was doing research on those beings there. Perhaps it may even be an Aphelion, if Bungie ever plans to explore those creatures

When the part was mentioned that the siva trials were conducted in parallel, I immediately thought of the Northwick park drug trial disaster in which an experimental immunomedication resulted in the permanent injuries of the six trial patients, due to the drug being given in parallel. The first patient showed signs of distress just as the last was injected. This disaster resulted in wide reaching changes in the way human trials on drugs were to be conducted in the EU, which i think is definitely the event bungie is hinting at with the SIVA trials.

This doesn't mean it can't be done ethically, just that often times, it took unethical actions of unethical people doing something to push things forward in a rapid pace. Most major medical discoveries from prior era's came at great human cost, via unethical experimentation and practice. More modernly, our technological society, while it has exploded in a way that has immeasurably improved our lives in many ways, has been so vibrant more because of the actions of unethical people with questionable motivations. Our technological revolution was spurred primarily by cynical people wanting to maximize profits. It ultimately leads to what most would agree is an overall good, but continues to be misused even currently to our own detriment by those unethical, but privileged few. The current revived space race, as well as the push for electrical vehicles (both net good things) has been so revived by people like Elon Musk, a horribly repugnant egotistical person, who values his own ambition above the health and wellbeing of his own employees. Ultimately these efforts will lead to major net gains for society, but the ethical and human cost may prove to be quite great in the end.

I just remembered something. Some time ago we got some lore about an army of exos fighting the vex. Well, now we know that event actually happened on Europa. Cause we know that during the golden age Clovis opened a vex portal and unleashed a vex hoard onto the planet, which caused the exos stationed there to retaliate. The thing about Clovis is that its not just that he wants to leave a mark in history. He wants his bonds with his loved ones to be permanent. He was afraid of losing everything and everyone to death so he fell to the darkness and harmed many for what he viewed as a perfect outcome where he could live forever with his family guiding humanity together. In his last moments before his human body died he truly wanted Banshee to be his chance to find redemption for all he has done to get as far as he did. But I don't think he regretted any of it and honestly I don't blame him for trying anything to defeat death when the darkness offered him the potential for infinite life for himself and those he loves and cares for and even humanity.

@@monadoboy9639 While Oryx is more evil in a grand, supervillain scale, Clovis feels more like a real monster, someone who could actually exist and probably get away with it. His acts don't necessarily affect millions of lives like Oryx or some of Destiny's other villains, but he's still manipulative and dangerous, imposing massive amounts of suffering on quite a few people, many who are close to him. And perhaps scariest of all, he feels completely justified in his actions, no matter how foul, as a sacrifice necessary for the betterment of the human race.

Aurux and her sisters were part of a race not unlike humans at a time in morality but they CHOSE to accept the power of the deep and become the hive dooming who knows how many billions of lives. Clovis has clear flaws but he also genuinely wants to try to to become better for his family he just cant reconcile that with what he feels is his supreme intellect which got even worse after the darkness amplified his darker impulses. In the end he wants to help the human race and he just thinks he knows better than everyone. Heck even Ghaul was worse since he took the bullying when he was young and pushed past it to becoming a viscous emperor that blew up stars and took everything he wanted.

When you think about it if it weren’t for Clovis Bray l, humanity would have died a dozen times over. Especially if you play as a exo. Rasputin alone has saved humanity several times. He did horrible things but if it weren’t for him the Last City would have been a pile of rubble long ago. Edit: And I forgot to mention that we may never have met Mithrax because SIVA wouldn’t have existed
