One of the best seasons for sure For context of the "Limited Time Event": Essentially, it was as Eris said: "An escalation". You saw the Traveler in Pieces. It pulled itself back together, became whole again as if preparing for battle. At the same time, the Darkness ships are moving further into our Territory. Io, Titan and Mars, get removed as destinations you can go to because they are completely overtaken by the fleet.

Zavala is a hardliner when it come to the Darkness, he knows it is very corruptive, and he was worried about Eris because he feel like what happened on the moon to Eris and her fireteam was his fault. Also Zavala is concerned about the Dark Future that could playout. Believe it or not Eris and Drifter care deeply about each other. Season of the Arrival was basically meant for us to start learning more about the Darkness and it was reaching out to us while the Traveler was preparing to get active.

Both Eris and Drifter used there darkness knowledge in different ways. Both researching the darkness. Drifter went to the nine and Eris the messages. The darkness no different from the Light. From 2 different sources and yet both came to same answer. You need darkness and light.

When you inevitably get to Witch Queen, I highly recommend that you watch the lore video called Dynasty. It explains pretty much the entire history of the Hive and is a love letter from the community to Destiny itself. Just to be clear, watch Dynasty right before Witch Queen

Eris and Drifter my favorite pairing in this series, both of these characters know pain and trauma better than other people at this point so surprisingly they hit it off almost immediately. Drifter was actually poised to jump ship and leave the Solar System as soon as the Pyramids arrived but Eris visited him and proposed a partnership, not with the Vanguard but with each other as allies. Keep an eye on these two as you continue on your Destiny journey, their relationship doesn't stop developing here.

Definitely a strong season story-wise, particularly during that year of Destiny. Some things that aren't covered in game: Savathun is the Hive God of Trickery and Deceit. She was using Nokris to prevent the communication between us and the Darkness, which we needed to happen so that it could inform our next moves. It was her who opened the portal in front of us in the first mission, as we were brought into her court, cutting off the possessed Ghost. It was only after we killed Nokris that the Darkness was able to directly contact us through our Ghost again. The Exodus and Evacuation quests took place on 4 destinations: Titan, Io, Mars, and Mercury. Each of the people on those destinations have some extra story to them that is, for the most part, quite important. All of these happened during the Limited Time Event. Brother Vance, the person on Mercury and probably the most unimportant one, went into the Infinite Forest, though we don't know why. He wasn't really the brightest of people. Sloane, as Zavala said, stayed back to fight against the Darkness on Titan. What happened afterwards is she found some sort of super armor, and jumped at a Pyramid ship, with the intent to punch it as hard as she can so that it breaks. Ana salvages as much of Rasputin as she can, storing it in a special engram, before leaving Mars to join us in the Tower. Asher Mir, not wanting the Darkness to attain the power of the Pyramidion on Io, heads into the Pyramidion himself. He fights off dozens of Vex, but soon they stop fighting him and just observe. Asher moves forward, until he enters a room with a Vex Radiolarian lake on the ceiling. He reached out with both of his hands and, as the lore entry says, "he brought the lake down [on top of himself]." Speaking of the Limited Time Event, everyone gathered in the Last City, as all Ghosts sensed something in the Traveler stirring. What happened during that event is the Traveler repaired itself. Those chunks that were broken off of it and were floating around it get repaired. At the same time, when we get the view of the director, we see the Darkness take four destinations that we evacuated (Titan, Io, Mars and Mercury). The rest will be explained in the future. In regards to the Zavala booty call....well, you'll see in a couple of season. I hope this information was interesting and/or helpful for understanding the season! Can't wait for more Destiny reactions!

Season of Arrivals had a questline called Exodus, where we were supposed to get the planet's associated character to the City. Ana took an experimental exo body, put the rest of Rasputin in an engram and came with. But there are lore pages detailing the others' fates. Brother Vance on Mercury stepped into the Infinite Forest to look for Osiris i think, but met a copy of himself and If i remember right the copy killed the original. Sloane, the Titan vendor stayed behind. She took a Golden Age diving suit, and boarded the Darkness Pyramid ship on Titan to find out what it wanted. A one woman army. Asher Mir stayed on Io, unwilling to let the Darkness claim the Vex Pyramidion and the information within. He stepped into the Pyramidion, rose his vex Arm to the radiolarian lake on the ceiling and brought. It. Down. Nokris is actually a son of Oryx, but as a necromancer, hes considered a heretic and was estranged. We actually fought him on Mars during the Warmind expansion if you remember. Idk if you guys saw footage of the Strike where you fight him. Savathun has recruited him, showing shes not entirely on board with the hardline stance of the Sword Logic and the worm gods. Not a whole lot to see this season in regards to the Interference missions (Decoding the messages and listening to Eris) It was a weekly thing in a very long season since the next expansion was delayed. The mission saw us fight our way to the Tree of Silver Wings and fight off a horde of enemies before listening to Eris. Near the tree, you can find a medallion with an eye on it, Osiris' logo. My memory of this is a bit hazy so take this with a grain of salt, in lore we find out Osiris found a destroyed Pyramid ship. One that Mara destroyed, which considering Rasputin couldnt even damage one, is impressive. In it he found a seed of silver wings and a message from Mara telling him to plant it on Io. This explains how the tree got there to begin with. Osiris put it there on behalf of Mara. Eris and Drifter are two tragic characters. Drifter has been around since the Dark Age and seen terrible things, DONE terrible things. He lives with regret and pain. So does Eris, but shes been healing. Eris may call Drifter rat but consider for a moment who Eris is. She'd probably have a pet rat, knowing her. The "Long boy in the soup", or the "Snake" swimming around Titan is in reference to a sea monster you can occasionally catch glimpses of over the waves of Titan like Nessie. Eris says she would expect Drifter to know it isnt a snake because of his symbols. Gambit iconography heavily features Snake motifs. The Traveler reformed itself at the end of Arrivals. It healed and blasted off enough light to prevent the Darkness from claiming the rest of the system. The only planets/moons taken were Titan, Mercury, Io, and Mars. The banter at the end between Eris and Drifter takes place BEFORE the live event you saw. That Live Event happened after and thats when the Dark claimed those planets and the servers went offline to prepare for the launch of Beyond Light. This makes a very controversial point for Destiny 2. When Beyond Light launched, old content people paid for was removed from the game. The vanilla campaign of the Red War, along with Curse of Osiris and Warmind and a lot of the associated content with it. Bungie claims it was due to size limitations and not wanting the game to be too big but taking away anything people already paid for is a dick move regardless. They also capped or "sunset" the power level of a lot of old items and weapons meaning the gun you've been using for years is useless in new content cause it cant be raised to meet the power level. On top of that, BL did not launch with enough new weapons to fill that gap.

This is by far at this point the best season in the game. What makes it even more ominous, when the event ends is the menu screen says "Server Offline" and then under that it says "The Light cannot save you. "Seek us out on Europa." So much fun in this season. Usually the final seasons were the best in each dlc.

I think Eris didnt respect Drifter because until this point Drifter only used his darkness and knowledge for his own selfish reasons. Were as Eris used her darkness and knowledge in improving the guardian and vanguard. To Eris he is a Rat Man because she respects his background and his knowledge but disapprove how he used it till this point. Drifter working with Zavala and Eris to save humanity earns here respect. Drifter and Eris are Zavala only agents that understand this threat and drifter doesn't even do rhe basics like reports. They become really tight friends after this season they develop a deep mutual respect and drifter become a respected leader and advisor on the dark arts. Before it was just Eris teaching how to under the darkness now she has help

The story of Drifter and Eris is so good! It's definitely one of my favorite character stories that developed over time! Sadly, the game doesn't do a lot of cutscenes and dialog that explain all the lore at this time, so a lot of the lore in the game can only be read in the lore tap section. Eris and Drifter don't have past history atleast not anything deep, it's just because of how the two are simple but also kind of opposite in their opinions and how they act, Eris and Drifter both been through hell and both understand that there's more going on than we know.. This season just was mega build up to what's to come for instance when Drifter aked The Nine about the darkness, the Emissary put us through test that lead to future content.. the dungeon is called Prophecy after also it has big hints to the future. Drifter also knew The Emissary Eris and Drifter actually talked about a women in one of the public event dialog but yeah Drifter knew The Emissary when she used to be a Guardian and she eventually was taken in by The Nine. And to add more about Drifter he doesn't like Zavala or the Vanguard mainly because they are all about rules and think the light is all good but they fail to see that both light and dark aren't good and evil but in the middle. It's all grey and only characters like Drifter and Eris (and another character we will meet in the next Expansion) understand that while Zavala and others believe only in the Traveler. But yeah, this whole season is just build up. The Darkness told us to go to Europa one of Jupiter's moons, and we also lost 4 planets/moons because of the Pyramid ships.. Mars, Mercury, Io, and Titan they are now gone.. they didn't tell us this in game, but Sloane fights thousand or more Hive in a Golden age mech while on Titan. Asher goes into the Pyramidion(a big Vex thingy) and becomes a Vex! He then controls the Vex and shields them from the Darkness.. so nows he's gone.. And Brother Vance he goes deep into the Infinite forests.. and he dies there protecting its secrets from the Darkness.. this all happens after the season and before the next Expansion and doesn't get explained in game besides in writen lore.. maybe you tw should also try watching lore videos! BYF pretty much puts most of his videos in Playlist so you can watch the ones from each season/ Expansion to learn way more about the lore! Love the vid and can't way to see more!

As far as I can tell, Eris and Drifter don’t have history prior to this. Drifter just has a…. poor reputation and I think Eris hates his guts. This isn’t the last time you’ll see them together, and it’s a fun ride seeing their dynamic shift with time.

The darkness was using metaphorès those messages were the most clear the guardian would fiĝht off Savathun forces who were trying interfere and jam the signal. Savathun desperately didn't want us to have those vague message. They have value it just we are not capable of receiving them on our end cleary. Eris is probably the best person to interpret the messages and she is struggling to make sense of the messages.

❤Mercury, Mars, Io and Titan were sunset from the game with this season. Functionally to make room for more content on aging PS4 XBONE hardware, but at least they had a good lore explanation for how the Darkness was able to "Take" these worlds.

The forst have was drifter officially helping a cause. They did the work , Zavala really doesn't understand the darkness he was hoping for the drifter to step up but he did in his òwn way. Zavala and Eris have history of working together , drifter isn't used to be in a team with people relying on him. The 2nd half drifter has earned eris respect for helping her and Zavala. Drifter grew alot in this, he is old jaded man who is warming up
