You're not getting a divorce over dishes. You're getting a divorce because you have an imbalance in your relationship. You're getting a divorce because you've articulated a problem to your partner and they've offered No assistance in helping you solve it. If we are supposed to be in a partnership, then we need to do whatever is required to make sure that we fix whatever problems have been solved. If my partner chooses to stop participating in our relationship by abandoning me with all of the child rearing and domestic duties, then my partner has terminated the relationship. The reality is that men don't want to do housework. What's missed in this conversation is that they keep talking about 1950 traditional gender roles but those women had maids and spent less time with their kids. Even Jordan Peterson talks about the need to address the domestic responsibilities. He says that is the real work of being in a long term relationship with someone. It is the day to day mundane. The lack of appreciation and support destroys relationships. Every day. You feel unsupported and unloved.

@@momomtony by your own logic, if you haven’t got a girlfriend and live by yourself surely you have to do some chores right? Or even cooking for yourself. It’s common sense. You don’t want to live in a pigsty. So being that said, doing chores is an necessity. I get if she’s a stay at home woman. You can’t use that as an excuse to not clean up after yourself. It’s just pure ignorance. Does that seem reasonable If i unintentionally mess up the floor and tell my babe to clean the floor because she’s a stay at home wife and mom? 🤨 Before you say cleaning up after yourself isn’t the same as chores. It definitely is.

@@aceportgasd.584 when has chores being categorised to be a feminine thing. You’ll realise chores is going to be daily routine even if your working. It’s a part of discipline. @momomtony
@momomtony Жыл бұрын
@@zelebigztv8887 it doesn't. I work hard enough to afford a whole family (wife and kids) that means that if im alone, i have enough money to get a cleaning lady and eat outside. i can spend my money on someone else doing my chores for me if im by myself. So, if im married and my wife stays home all day long and doesn't work, the bare minimum i would expect from her is to do "chores", or the better term that should be used is her "responsibilities" as a stay at home wife. now, dont get me wrong. i would never force my wife to be a "stay at home wife", that will always be her choice, she can also choose to go out and work. But my choice will always be to be able to work hard enough to allow her to have that option. So, if she choose to work and i will work too, i will make sure we can afford a cleaning lady. I dont want to work hard and get home to do chores, that's not my lifestyle. im smart enough and work hard enough to afford my lifestyle, so im not going to change it. Now, if i spill something on the floor, i wouldn't be a piece of shit and tell my wife to come clean it, i will do it myself. But if we eat dinner, i will help her pick up the stuff of the table, but it's her duty to do the dishes and clean the table afterwards!

“Many men still think of marriage, housework, and childcare as woman’s work. They see themselves as helpers in these areas but they don’t think of themselves as equally responsible for them. They think of themselves as a subordinate and their wives as the leaders in these areas and they wait for instructions but otherwise figure no news is good news. The problem is that women have taken on a lot of men’s work over the last few generations but not enough men are taking on the work that was traditionally done by women. This is making many women feel overwhelmed and resentful. Many women end up deciding that it would be easier to be alone because a husband is just a bunch of extra work. Men have a natural instinct and societal structure oth dictate these things. Men shouldn't be taking on the roles of women. We are different. But throughout history Men have been the hunters and women were the gatherers. I accept my role as a man to provide and hold my value. Now I'm not saying I don't help but yes the house is my girls. I work and pay for it and she takes care of it. I help when I can but it's not my role. The problem is we tell women they're so valuable that they think they're above these things and now they don't want to do anything productive. So if I work full time pay all the bills and make sure there's food to cook that they can't cook it? This isn't a man problem this is an inflating women's ego problem. I'm not working full time and doing all the work in the house. If my gf was just a piece I wouldn't be with her because there's no value and I can get support from friends. So yeah: if men think they are "above" housework, then why should women be content to be "looked down upon" for doing 'contemptible" work? Having a man around just means MORE housework. Pearl said the reasons are dumb for divorce, not it's fun. Women have not been committing to the highs and lows of marriage and relationships, only the highs, and she said as much, but you conflate this with the idea that divorce is fun. She didn't say it's fun, she said yes examples of why it happens. You failed, Destiny. This is why no one can take you seriously. You can't even address the scenario you brought up honestly.

He really isn’t right, the argument started because they claimed that only 25% of men do chores( which isn’t true) in two income households. the problem is that just because u contribute as much( which women don’t really) does mean u work as long in hour, which makes things way more complicated than chores; so she is right chores is actually a bad reason to divorce when there is so many alternatives to solve around the issue without even compromising. it’s literally an argument of sentiment

@@tobibenjamin6097 well lookup how many men divorced by women do the chores in a percentage. Generally maybe u got suttin but regardless of perfectages and stuff: IF a woman says chores are the trigger for her wanting to divorce, refer to what he said in the video, because THAT'S why chores CAN destroy a marriage and ISNT a "stupid" reason. Chores was an example of a reason Pearl decided was stupid to her which is a totally plain and ignorant way for her to view a woman's reasons for going through a whole ass divorce. Of course surely it could be worked through, but if it isn't worked through soon enough, the attraction, love and respect is dead. And all that usually happens way after the initial problem (chores, unfiar treatment) starts so they both need to communicate or listen depending on who is or isn't doing the chores. Not attacking men BTW, I think chores could be a valid reason for a man to eventually want a divorce.
@tobibenjamin6097

@anastasiahoughton7509 I don't think most men will divorce their wives because of chores. the opposite for men doesnt cause divorce. men are still more likely to pay bills buy more expensive gift despite women earning just as much, (71%) of America Adults say it is very important for a man to be able to support a family financially to be a good husband only 31% say the same for women. despite women earnings. Do you know that the divorce rate among couples who share the chores equally are 50 percent higher than among those where the wife does the majority of the work? And the more chores the man does the higer the rate of divorce in fact husbands who don't help with house chores are more likely to earn more It's way more complicated than men don't do chores relying on people's reasoning for divorce is bad because they usually blame their partner

@@tobibenjamin6097 all that might be true, but all I'm saying is that the man in the video is right; it's not stupid to have a divorce over chores. I never said anything against men AT ALL. Chill. It's other people's lives and divorces, I don't particularly care as long as people are happy. I don't care about men doing equal chores or women doing equal work. Couples should decide that amongst themselves. But in the end, if chores is what causes a divorce, its pretty short sighted and gross to say its because the women are stupid. Just not true is it

@@Iwontreadyourreply in today's society that is usually not the case. Most family have two breadwinners. Have you ever been in a relationship before? How would you react if you came home from work and told your partner how hard your day was and how much you hate your job and all she had to say would be "stop complaining, you better keep working or I'm out". That's not a foundation of a good partnership. You would want someone who listens to you, understands your struggles and helps you to overcome obstacles. But if you do not appreciate the work the other person puts into, you don't respect them. If you promise to pick out the trash that evening, but you don't do it, your partner feels like you don't take them seriously and loses trust in you.

@Francisco Lima I'll go... the idea of divorcing someone because they don't clean enough, or do enough things around the home is stupid. Because the red flags are present before you married the person. Women can never take any responsibility in the breakdown of a relationship, but it is ALWAYS a masculine role that is demonized. What we are seeing is a blurred line of what roles a couple fills towards each other and the erosion of the failure of those expectations. What this is, is Women trying to be like men. Have careers, and then a family, and them work less hours in said career vs the man, and then exp3 the man to come home and do said chores when he (most likely) works more hours, and has a more dangerous job... It is women, failing to communicate what they desire, and the failure of women to understand what a man actually does at work... Not saying there aren't lazy people. It's just that women need to stop being viewed as the victims when this is perfect example of hypergamy...

Good point, just missing a bit. Never take advice from a person who has never been in a long-term relationship or has never been around people in a long-term relationship. U can give advice on things you haven't participated in so long as you have extensive experience closely observing it. You just have to know that there are limits to what advice u can give. I cant believe people are in the comments arguing about the chore thing. It's not just chores. Like blue dude said, everything starts to pile up, 1 thing becomes 2, then 2 becomes 4. A relationship is constant work, compromise, sacrifice, communication, and understanding. Most women have a job, no matter the level. Most men have a job, no matter the level. If you distribute chores between each other and one of you isn't pulling their weight, you get annoyed. You tell them you're annoyed, and they say you nag. 1 person is unhappy because the other person won't do their chore, and it's left on them. The other person is unhappy because they work and come home, and they get their partner nagging them to do things they don't want to/forgot to do. Then it becomes one partner is lazy, and the other partner is telling their friends that all the other does is nag. It went from the need for a chore to be done to both partners being constantly upset with the other. Whn you start not liking a person, everything they do becomes irritating. They start breathing to hard, them walking into the room ruins your mood, them asking where the batteries are made you want to leave the house for the rest of the day. Then, because every day seems so much worse than it used to be, that's when divorce and breakups start to sound good. You have to address problems and work to solve them. If chore A is a problem for you, you can have one of my chores, and I'll take chore A. Or if you don't want to swap a chore, you need to start doing the chore you already have. Change the time you have to do the chore. Set up a reward for doing the chore that you give yourself. All that to say, it's not the chores that cause divorces/breakups, it's it's everything that comes after it.

It's called hypergamy, and women attempting to be men. To honest, the vast majority of working women, work less hours, and work less dangerous jobs on a very high margin of percentages. Women working in a job, is them trying to be like men. There is another story to a marriage and the vast majority of women divorce because they FIND reasons through hypergamy to find flaws of their spouse and become unhappy. Destiny doesn't understand anything the manosphere. If you pay attention, hypergamy explains what causes the break down of communication in this scenario. Truth is, women want a man, not a house wife, but won't take up the role themselves and be submissive. So hypergamy comes along, and makes the woman resent the man, because she views him as being inferior.

@Benjamin Jordan ...it sounds like you agree with me, but you don't know you agree with me?? I basically said that not communicating a problem, the example being chores, creates a disconnect in the relationship that spirals into bigger things because the simple issue wasn't addressed. Then you said the key is communication, which is basically what I said?? You sound surprised that there are adults who don't have it all together at all times. I'm not saying that 1 person not taking out the trash 1 night is what starts the spiral. It's not doing your part for a prolonged period of time. One partner can tell the other their feelings and issues surrounding the problem all they want, but they can't make the other person do anything. It's on the other person to decide how they want to handle the issue, and sometimes their way of dealing with it is not dealing with it at all. I've very glad to hear that you and your spouse have found ways to effectively communicate and have a system that works for you. That's how it's supposed to be. But many things can be an issue, and many things can be the cause of an issue. Most of these problems can be solved through effective communication, but some people haven't found their system, are generally bad at communicating, or don't know that their actions are the problem so they can't fix it because the other person didn't communicate that. It could even be that that person has heard that their actions are causing an issue but just don't care enough to fix it, or they have been told their actions are causing an issue but genuinely don't see how their actions are causing an issue.

Many traditionally minded men are wanting women to do the "chores" (house responsibilities) because they usually want to be the sole-bread winner so that their wife only has to deal with the home and the kids. I want those things to be done, but understand that it's a considerable task to do that on top of working an 8-hour shift, which is why I want a wife to take care of it for me while im doing the harder work (no amount of house work in my home would be justified as an 8-hour work shift, as it takes 2.5-3 hours tops to clean everything and to prep a nice warm meal leaving 5-5.5 hours of relative free time or time to be spent with child when we have one). So yes, traditionally minded men want a woman to do "the chores" while staying at home since we are working at a job for 8-hours to provide a nice life for our family. Imagine if you could have your life paid for by taking care of the house you live in and preparing food for the bread winner, how is that a raw or bad deal in any way? What is the problem with that?

she constantly interviews all these ghetto women that seem like they are on drugs at the time or just painfully uneducated or stupid. I've never even met women as dumb as the ones she finds.

People trolling the guy in the comments for an open marriage are the same ones that claim cheating by men in a relationship is high value

My ex never wanted to clean, but expected me to come home and clean after a 19 hour shift. Side note: i would always clean on my day off, but working two jobs meant i had 1 day to clean a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house without help. I finally gave up on the relationship when i realize no matter how much i begged i would never been seen as his partner and just his maid.

I can confirm little things pile up that’s what normally breaks up couples. Destiny has more life experience than her by far
@LifeofWiks

You dont need life experience to know what breaks up couples. People in this day and age base a lot of their actions on emotions and THAT was the core of her argument. Real ride or die couples dont let those “little things” build up, they either address it or accept it as part of the relationship.

If they’re working, why would you put that stress on your partner, like don’t be selfish, help out. I’ll be piss if I’m doing 100% of the cores, missing out on my day off and then getting told that I shouldn’t worry about it? Naaahhh Plus it’s always the person not cleaning that make the most mess, it would rub me the wrong way. Have you ever had housemates?

It wouldn’t be chores if you ‘wife’ truly loved you. She would be bending over backwards to do these things for you, while you do the same by bringing the money home.
