There's a pattern I've noticed while doing the first part of Crota's End. If you're a Hunter, you can and should always wear the Exotic gauntlets, 'Don't touch Me,' which make you briefly invisible after taking melee damage. If you combine that with Shadowjack on Bladedancers, which doubles invisibility effects, you can and will recover most, if not all, of your shields/ health. That way, while it's inadvisable, it's not the biggest deal if you miss a lamp and the others keep going, because you can catch up to them without having to worry about enemies. Also, while invisible, because everything has a light shade of blue on it, you actually see better while invisible, but this only works if you're looking from a first-person perspective.

do a gjallihorn only run. Grenades, supers, and Ruin Wings are off limits! sounds easy at first but then you realize ammo is an issue. Only use synths at checkpoints! i know i would enjoy watching this! kerp up the good videos!

Hey datto, I'd love to see you guys go into PvP with necrochasm. I've made a few videos recently using necrochasm in PvP going positive and I'd love to see it in more skilled hands than mine. I don't believe its a bottom teir pvp exotic. I'd say its a C their weapon. Its underrated I think. I recommend using aggressive ballistics and fitted stock. I believe high rate of fire low impact are the sub machine guns of destiny. Great video keep up the great work

i love necrocasm, its just a misundertood gun, yeah its low impact but the super high firerate makes up for it, a gun with a firerate like the necro should not have a high impact....the ttk is realy not bad at all.its a gun that's not for everyone but if used in the right way it can be verry effective.....i love it!

It's impact does make a difference though. It only has the quickest TTK if your at point blank range. Any further than that and you won't hit for anything. In PvP Necrochasm hits for 13, Suros Regime hits for 31 to the head. Suros kills in 6 headshots, Necrochasm takes an entire magazine. Considering it is the poster weapon for The Dark Below, just like the Vex Mythoclast was the poster weapon for Atheon, it's a very poor reward.

Billy Nahar It's effective far beyond point blank. It's clear you haven't spent much time with either Eidolon Ally/etc if you think that. I will admit that mid range is the best it's got, and that it takes time to learn the recoil pattern. Furthermore, your stats are off and so is the logic. Necrochasm does 12 bodyshot, 15 head. Bodyshot TTK is 1.06s vs SUROS Regime headshot 1.09s, so I wish you luck with that comparison. Bringing Mythoclast also strengthens the argument you seek to defeat, because Mytho is even more unreliable now, and has shorter range (albeit slightly faster TTK w/Linear Compensator)

Okay, just to get this out of the way: there is no true bump in effectiveness to use Necrochasm over Eidolon Ally in the Crucible. You reload a little faster. Eidolon Ally is pretty good in PvP, and lets you use an exotic heavy or secondary. Mythoclast won't let you do that, but at slightly shorter ranges it can tear through enemies super fast. In PvE, you use Necrochasm for its cool particle effects. I'm serious- you can tell who in your fireteam is doing their job if you're using it. Also significantly better in PvE than Eidolon Ally due to Cursebringer, arc damage, and higher attack stat.

Datto great vid as always. I love your sadism and willingness to torture your team. Hey bro you really need to level those no backup plans. They are much better than you give them credit for. Especially since you dont have them leveled... They have great synergy with a few perks in the Defender sub-class and can save your bacon in a lot of situations. This weeks Nightfall is actually perfect for them. I soloed Nexus wearing them and my bacon was indeed saved multiple times by having longer FB duration. Give it a try and you may change your tune about them. True, they are not as versatile as Arma, Saint 14 or Ruin Wings but they can be very useful given the right conditions. Keep up the good work and congrats on forming Math Class.

Look if you want the Necrochasm to be amazing just modify these two things 1: Cursebringer - Every hit causes a Cursed Thrall Explosion. 2: Extended Mag - increase the Clip to 62 which puts it on par with all the light machine gun auto rifles. These two alone would make this gun Over-Powered to the max while also making up for the marshmallow impact

Hey datto what do you think of having necrochasm have the combined abilities of the other weapons into one perk. For example, one perk on necrochasm with dark breaker, disorient hive wizards, cursed thrall , and add hive disruptor. I would also tweak its stats to make it do more damage in pvp and pve.

Yes, the Thralls in the Abyss take on a more nightmarish guise. They have 3 eyes, I believe, (because they're under the influence of Crota's Limbo?) Actually, scratch that, the eyes are likely to assist them in seeing in the dark.

1) Why make the Curse Thrall explosions occur only about 50% of the time and not do arc damage to shields, making it effectively worse than firefly? 2) Why make the weapon not only have SMG stats, but with 33-40% less ammo than others? 3) What were the intentions behind the design of this weapon? 4) What are we missing? Not worth the effort for the weapon...

It wouldn't be bad, with the full auto perk you would destroy thralls, for the bridge with the high impact would destroy swordbearers, orgres. Shreikers would be easy, wizards too cause PI is solar damage problem is just the range (also its good for over soul)

TheComment2011 True, but full auto burns through a lot of the very small reserve ammo you can carry (unless you have armor perks) and I'd imagine crota's shield would be hard but after watching them take crota's shield off in less than 30 seconds with Necro, I could be very wrong.
