This is a classic prime example of young music stars being used to play against each other (and they were FRIENDS too...just sad). This has happened to so many singing groups, but Destiny's Child's split was definitely one of the ugliest break-ups. Poor girls had to face so much criticism (still even to this day). Beyonce took alot of unnecessary heat from what her father was doing. She was just as naive as the rest of them.

Man, that's messed up, Toya been in the group for 7 yrs and Tavia for 10 yrs and they were flushed like that. They went through the ups and downs with Bey and Kelly. I believe letoya and latavia. However a group can’t have separate managers. Only way is for them to agree on 1 manager or majority vote, but case of split 2/2. The 2 didn’t want Matthew when he had been driving force to get them to that point, quitting his job. Even though they wanted new / their own, he was also dad of the main talent lead singer so I can see their decision to move forward quick with momentum of album instead of stalling in releasing their biggest song on the album. They should have communicated they weren’t happy and explained meeting communicated about how money was split..

Matthew did what he had to , he did almost go through a divorce, sacrificed a lucrative CEO position and spent a lot of money to help these girls make it as far as they did . When you have an album out you have to promote it and do rehearsals, prepare for videos, etc. When you don't show and make demands that half the group won't agree to -- guess who gets to be the odd "women" out. It made sense that they were ousted. Frankly, they weren't missed and the group didn't miss a beat. Groups have ONE manager, not two or four. That's not how the business is conducted. It doesn't matter what team anyone is on. This happened over a decade ago and they have all moved on.

Farrah did not fit in. she looked too much like Beyonce. the group lacked variety. i'm just glad that Latoya gained success on her own.

Damn that's sad. It's so many different versions of what really happened with them, that we may never know. But this was so long ago, that hopefully they all have moved past this and moved on with their lives. Broken friendships are apart of life for everybody...especially with females! Women who aspire to be singers should just come out solo to avoid that type of drama.

I liked Michelle & Farrah but they did not bring the same elements to the group the way the originals did and their vocals blended beautifully 2gether.

Even if "4" wasn't that good in singles, it went #1 in billboard and it got great sales, plus she has a great stable career, and her first 3 albums had enough good singles to already make a greatest hits album, she is happily married to the man she loves, which is the great Jay-Z, they have a child together, plus she has enough money live the fabulous life, so Karma did not do nothing to Beyonce, much love to you, no hate, Goodnight.
