I never really get why people call Sleeper Simulant "like a rocket," I just call it a super-sniper because that's really what it is. Huge damage on a single target (unless you get lucky and line up a shot or it bounces), requiring a steady hand and good accuracy. Something else to note is that SS can 1-shot ANY PvP target, no matter what. Great for shutting down Sunbreakers and Bladedancers if you can catch them off guard.

The void orbs shot by the Telesto aren't affected by the range falloff, causing it's damage to basically be a shotgun at any range. The gun puts out amazing damage and can kill mobs of enemies quickly while generating orbs of light all with ease. He should of at least gave it an A-.

Depending on your accuracy telesto can be very good. I have had it where multiple people are rushing me with a shotgun, I shoot 1 with all of the telesto bullets and get all of them.

+Benjamin Arnott Its situational, you can be great with it or just total shit. Ive had times where I could shot someone, duck back into cover and get the kill. Repeat that 10 more times and call it a game. other times I would shot someone and they would kill me before they die, or I didn't get a direct hit and they just live. Hard to rate it any higher due to the downsides of the weapon. But its still the best looking and sounding exotic in the game lol.

Lots weapons are situational, for example the solar sword is a good option when you open the door before the warpriest, on your way running between the totems you can just slice those major knights and keep going. Also the best place to use a fusion rifle is when you are collecting relics when entering the KF, it's for sure one shot down to those windows from far away. (It's probably also the only place they are good in this game currently)

i just got my sleeper simulant a few days ago. one thing it does that no other weapon can (maybe black spindle) is do so much damage to strike bosses. the sheer damage on a critical shot is enough to potentially defeat a fallen walker in 2 cycles. and that is only a 290 sleeper.

I definitely feel as though the random AoE damage rounds on thunderlord should have been mentioned in its discussion. I don't think they're strong enough to change the rating but they are still a factor.

I finally got a 310 Truth out of a legendary engram from a Heroic Strike this week, and lo and behold I actually have weapon parts to upgrade it now. Truth was my first exotic weapon way back in the early days of Destiny, and I hadn't used it much since The Taken King came out because it lowered my light level for Trials and Iron Banner. I was also curious to know how it works with less velocity, as that stat seems to have been nerfed with 2.0. Holy mother of god, this thing is still an absolute monster. Iron Banner heavy weapon bounties are child's play with this thing. Even when I wasn't having a great game, I just started obliterating everything when I got heavy ammo. Truth's savage tracking is also surprisingly good at dealing with the campy snipers of this new 2.0 meta. If you aim down sights and hear Truth lock on, it's going to get them even on the other side of the map. I have enough high quality legendary primary and special weapons now to go along with Truth. I don't feel like I'm losing much with Nirwen's Mercy or my god roll PDX-41 (SPO-28, Perfect Balance, Hidden Hand, and Small Bore) paired with Conspiracy Theory or a sniper like Eirene or 1000-Yard Stare.

+Chris Greene Datto hates fusion rifles. I think Datto just doesn't know how to use a fusion rifle. In most strikes I choose them first because you can stay at a relatively safe distance and still one-shot most things. Plus you can do the old Halo plasma pistol trick where you use the fusion rifle to blow down the shields and finish the baddy off with your primary.

My problem is Last Word. Its possibly the worst primary exotic in the game (not counting NLB because its worthless and not really a primary primary) with only the Fabian Strategy falling below it. Back to the point, the Last Word has the really bad accuracy shared between all hand cannons, it kills just as fast ADS as non ADS, because hip fire headshots are litteraly impossible with the reduction of acc and stability

The only thing that I have found, other than black spindle, that can one-shot head-shot a sun-breaker is a luck in the chamber proc on the eirenne RR4 but come on how often does that proc and how often can you hit a head-shot of a sunbreaker

Personally sleeper is my favorite exotic heavy. Its damage is unmatched and it does that damage from a distance. In the raid it makes dealing with wizards a joke and does some good boss damage if you run out of sniper ammo.

You way undersold Thunderlord. That weapon deserves far more than a B rating. It's got really good range compared to most other machine guns currently in the game, and that actually matters now. It also has an abnormally large magazine compared to others of its model, and a fairly quick reload as well. But on top of the ideal base stats, it's got two hidden perks that you didn't even mention: a firefly explosion effect that triggers on 50% of your kills (no need for a headshot), /and/ armor piercing rounds built in. In PvE it is one of the best weapons imaginable for crowd control, and comes with a substantial DPS buff for dealing with more powerful targets. And in crucible it's just as good as any other machine gun in that class because you don't need to aim for headshots. It's a 4 shot kill to the head or to the body. And personally, as a compulsive reloader, having a lightning fast reload after every kill is incredibly useful. It's only downside is the drifty recoil, but frankly that's only there to stop it from being completely overpowered. Thunderlord is an extremely underrated weapon.

datto.. simulant is underrated. I ran with a team that used it in trials. the guy used it to one shot the enemy team as soon as they pop their super. even sunbreakers. plus, if you roll with a RL (truth) and fire all but one shot, then switch to the simulant, you get 7 shots in your SS.

I don't know if there can be a place for fusion rifles. The idea of having a gun that can one hit you from medium ranges would be infuriating. Maybe they should be more support based like doing extra damage to shields, maybe get tracking ricochet rounds that do less damage after bouncing (which should really apply to all guns with ricochet ), perhaps they can get special exclusive perks to that class such as more super energy, burn damage over time, etc. Just some quick fire ideas.

+ElsotheWild All of those sound good. Not many burning weapons in the game so Fusions could take that role. Tracking ricochets are the only way any ricochet perk in the game will be even remotely useful. Until that happens, ricochet will remain a waste of a perk. The problem with increasing the mag size of Hereafter is that it would be a lot harder to prock the Perfectionist perk. It may be just one bullet, but it still would do more harm than good. I say increase RoF and Stability. That should help it out. Maybe increased reload too.

+DerpyWoodoo Perfectionist is pretty much a PvE perk anyway so I would have to disagree with that. changing its RoF and stab wouldn't do much because you have to take your time between shots to make sure they are head-shots. It isn't used at it's full fire rate as is and has meh stability but again that doesn't matter because of the amount of time between shots. It can quick snipe but miss one and you just lost your perfectionist.

I got a 310 Invective out of a legendary. It has full auto on it. I have a friend that told me that hes gotten one with and without full auto as a passive perk. Good advice, Datto, but I would have to disagree with you about Thunderlord in PvP. In my opinion no other Heavy Machinegun in the game has ever even come close. It appears to recoil a bunch, but consistently lands headshots at even extended range. It absolutely melts enemies and when you are able to shoot long enough to get the faster firerate you devastate everything. Since getting my Nirwen's Mercy I've been using Truth in Trials and Thunderlord everywhere else in PvP. Sure, sometimes I get blown up by a rocket, but I always trade.

+Luke Rockenbaugh For everything you have listed, I would only advise between two choices: 1. Bad Juju OR 2. Invective Me personally, I would choose Bad Juju for now then get the Invective the next time you have 150 marks because Bad Juju is not only one of the best Primary weapons in the game, but it is also great for both PVP and PVE. Pulse rifles are the dominant weapon type in PVP this year and the ability to get your Super charged very quickly will come in handy no matter what character you use the weapon on. The Hawkmoon is also awesome but more suited for PVE though and is very fun to use!

Only rocket launcher in the game with tracking and grenades and horseshoes, plus the tracking is a little more intense than others, can lock onto a target, swing around 180 degrees and fire the rocket, and watch it arc through the sky to hit its target like a goddamn missile. And as for the black grundle one shotting sunbreakers it can and cant, i have gotten low rolls where they live and high rolls where they die so either can happen

+Sunbreaker Fox There are other launchers that have tracking and G&H but they were year one. Also Titans with Taikonaut and the JLD-47 from a couple of weeks ago have that setup too. You'Re right though the tracking on that thing is ridiculous. In any PvP mode (so good on fast moving vehicles) if you want a rocket launcher and you're willing to swap exotics while waiting for ammo then you should definitely use this. What is the black grundle?

The Chaperone is amazing if you learn how to use it, I managed to get a Phantom medal in Trials using only The Chaperone.
