Nah, you probably will. The issue is that the A-10 was found to be less effective against tanks during Desert Storm than literally every other aircraft. Mainly because it struggles to identify targets. The A-10 is the reason the British tanks in DS started having those big Union Jacks on them, so the A-10 pilots would stop shooting them.

You were wondering about how big shotguns get. Look up 'punt gun'. Basically a 1 gage shotgun that they used to use in commercial hunting to shoot flocks of ducks. As for loadouts in the game. I had a lot of fun with the SKS. Scope, bipod, silencer, drum mag. Setup on a hill over looking the objective and plink away at anything that gets close.
