I play CaroKann and white using the queen to go hunting in the G file before you castle is some thing you have to look out for indeed. But why couldn’t your knight just take the white bishop at 2:55?

I was telling there will be no checkmates on g7 until that knight is there. Not just bishop h6 but any move that lead to g7 mate. and if they try to capture knight(before they play Bh6) you have bishop f6, that was my point & of course you can take that bishop. I just used one clip to explain all of that, I should have made it full clear sorry for that.

Interesting video that covers the basics of the Caro-Kann in only 4 minutes. I did notice that at 2:15, black is just a pawn down as a result of playing 4...c5 on move 4. This can't be good for black.

It's a main variation of caro kann, even hikaru recommends that. But stockfish doesn't, which means it's ok to begginners
