Coincidentally, I use a flat makeup ‘blending’ brush to get into the groves around trim and buttons. This video has made me consider getting a ‘foundation’ brush now. I know the names of the brushes because I have a wife, and I use google like a proper man 💪🤣

I hit the ladies section in make up isle few yrs ago now for al my brushes and there pretty cheap also and also hit the art shop for some long handle soft medium and stiff bristle brushes cheap as chips. But in saying that some of these ones you have just reviewed for us has opened my eyes to some better brushes for exterior high-end jobs i have that roll through on a weekly basis. Keep up the good work mate and keep them reviews and videos coming 👌
@ForensicDetailing6 жыл бұрын
I did the same :) I have some art and make up brushes. you can find very good bristle quality for sure. but the problem was it was hard to find stuff that was really right for detailing. metal shrouds around the brushes I try to avoid (taping them up is ok but the tape breaks down quickly when it gets wet) but also the handles were not always quite right for detailing. these things are designed specifically for detailing but detailers. theres not much you cant like about them. price is about the only thing I can think of, but a lot of the standard hogs hairs can be close to a fiver depending where you buy from and I can say these are definetly better. general word on the street about this product is good when I speak informally to other guys that have used them. they are new to the scene but I think you will see a lot of people using these soon. If you take the plunge and get them let me know what you think please guys.

they are just fantastic arnt they chris. the sign of something is decent is you reach for it over the other options. I prolly might have missed out on these if I didnt run the channel because of the price diff between them and the normal wooden stick hogs hair.. but the way they fan out on flat surfaces and the softness of them just allows them to work so much better.

hi there, the in2detailing fixed rotation should come with a 5 inch plate. On my 3401 I run a plate adapter system so I can use a 4 inch plate for a specific pad I like to use (which is very hard to buy now). With your machine I would check start by using the 5 inch plate that comes with it. And run 5.5 hybrid force pads on it (motorgeek co uk sell them)

I've been looking for a wheel brush that I could use to clean the nooks and crannies of my new car's wheels. My only worry is that the alloys are a satin/matte black and I'm terrified of scratching the finish. I've seen your best of 2017 video (brilliant review by the way) and you mentioned the Atlasta soft tip brush for wheels. Would that be ok for satin/matte black wheels or would you suggest these ultra-soft brushes instead?
@ForensicDetailing6 жыл бұрын
the atlasta brush is the complete opposite. very hard brush with plastic bristles great for really heavy cleaning. the detailing factory is the other end of the spectrum.. very very very soft. so its great for interior dusting with the little brrush. and good for very very gently safe cleaning on extrior.. so idela for satin matt finishes yes but be away its like a soft shaving brush that will sweep away dirt.. its not going to scrub brake dust off a filfthy alloy.. the detail factory brushes are very very cool. one of the best things Ive used in 2018.
@Absieboy6 жыл бұрын
Wow, thanks for the immediate reply! What would you recommend in your opinion for a satin/matte black alloy? I have only just purchased the car from an approved used dealer so its in great shape as it is, I'm just looking to keep it that way :D Following your best of 2017 video I'm going to purchase the flat incredibrush as it's microfiber brush head really appeals to me in preventing scratches, but what would you recommend for the harder to reach areas e.g. Wheel nuts and crevices?

they look kind of identical to the DF ones really. I think DF did something cool in terms of making the the mega soft shaving type brushes, giving them a proper handle and making them bullet proof. and then as always every man and his dog goes and copies it and draws in on the success of the guys that sort of made it. those DF brushes have been great for me.. get a bit of hair loss on the hoggs hair ones but only at the start.. other than that they been superb.

heat mate. Colorlock have a video on this... need to be carefull. some natural crease lines where the paint system has cracked.. well they generally need filling and refinishing. fold lines etc where the finish isnt damage but its creased more like you say.. heat could possibly work with those. remember leather will have crease lines in it.. its gonna happen. but search you tube but check out colorlocks leather bible they have a good video on it.

Just read the comment on the makeup brushes and I was equally curious about this. I don't know a whole lot about them, however, I was struck by the visual similarity of those versus commonly advertised makeup brushes. These brushes are considerably cheaper than the specialised detailing brushes. Think you could do a comparison? Pretty please!
@ForensicDetailing6 жыл бұрын
I have a makeup brush... *cough* let me rephrase that. I bought a makeup brush for dusting interiors. Its ok. Its a bit small. Its also needs wrapping. and the handle is too thin. but it works for dusting out small things. some of the makeup brushes have really good gentle fibers on them though. if you can find a big fat chunky one with a safe handle it would come in handy.. but you end up messing around scanning google images for makeup brushes and ordering random stuff to save like 5 bucks, or wasting money when the brush turns up and its not great. It wont ever be as suitable as this brush. And the makeup brushes you generally dont want to use them with detergents and soaps on the outside or generally they are too soft on the outside and the paint starts flaking off the housing and crap like that. honestly. if you are into your car detailing just get these. If you really wanna save 5 quid and use makeup brushes, then you will need to hit google up and search around.. the bristles on this brush are more like a shaving brush than a makeup brush really. but they are also chemical resistent for wet use.
@fredswift48556 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, that's what I needed to know. I don't mind the extra few bucks, but, if you don't have to spend why would you. That's why you review things and I pay attention and ask questions...

Do we need CarPro eraser when applying Cquartz? Or can we use a 25% ipa solution with a hint of sles instead?
@ForensicDetailing6 жыл бұрын
I personally would use Bilt Hamber cleanser fluid over eraser for the final degrease wipedown prior to applying a coating. thats just my preference. at the end of the day eraser is the cleaner product from the coating provider.. so some could argue with me.. but thats what I would do anyway.
