Detailed 2008 Porsche 911 Targa 4S Review - A Future .997 Model Classic

We are grateful to be able to bring you another detailed Porsche 911 review. Today we feature this black-on-black low mileage 2008 Porsche 911 Targa 4S. We have always been a fan of the 997 model Porsches especially the GT3RS and Turbo models from 2007-2009. However, there is little wrong with the looks, comfort, and performance of this 2008 Porsche 911 Targa 4S.
The 2008 Porsche 911 Targa 4S makes 355 horsepower and 295-foot pounds of torque propelling the car from 0 to 60 in roughly 4.9 seconds. This comes from a direct fuel injected flat-six 3.8-liter engine. This is not the famous Mezger engine that is found in the GT/Turbo line but make no mistake it's a wonderful and reliable powerplant. This engine makes the 2008 911 Targa 4S pretty quick as you will see in the POV drive. We do a run out to 100 and you can see it pulling nicely around several turns.
This 2008 911 Targa 4S does have the very desirable six-speed manual transmission which propels all four wheels to really put the power down. We mention in this review to get the six-speed manual over the older school Tiptronic 5 speed automatic.
The MSRP of this 2008 Porsche 911 Targa 4S was $106k and we show the full spec sheet in this review. We really loved the 14-way adjustable seats, they not only look good and hold you in, but you can really dial the comfort in. They are fully powered and feature the Porsche logo, another upgrade.
One of the most interesting things I found on the 2008 Porsche 911 Targa 4S was the Targa top in this 997 generation. The Targa top is basically one large sunroof and slides back and forth following the lines of the coupe. This is definitely not the theatre that is the new 2014 and older Targa's that Porsche makes. We included a picture of that open/close action which is pure awesomeness.

Unbelievable! Haha I bought this car and am awaiting delivery! Haha man, I KZbin’d videos just because I can’t wait for the car to show up I just wanted to listen to it and spend a view minutes inside/on a ride even via a video! There is a dark brown-on-beige car, just like this, on sale on CarGurus with about 15K miles, selling for over $100k. You're right, it gives off the feel of a grand tourer, probably the best Type 997.

@@Driven-Productions whatever the typical maintenance intervals are on a 911.

@@djkenny1202 They'll take as much of your money as you are willing to give them. Clutch depends. Water Pump at 50,000 probably. You'll need to do oil changes every year or two. Usually miles aren't the factor. Dealership is usually 2x to 3x local mechanic prices. A lot of issues dont stop you from driving the car but you have to keep up with it. Right now, my spoiler doesn't raise evenly, my transmission needs a new mount and I need improved shifter bushings.
