The cartridges that were sent with the uKeg I ordered came with CO2 Chargers. Not nitrogen. The description reads "CO2 Chargers for uKeg 128 models". Did I get the wrong cartidges ? Follow up question is it okay to consume CO2 ?

The website in the link description sells N20. I highly recommend pure nitro as that's a better tasting element and infuses better. Using pure nitro will get your drinks to taste similar to what they sell at starbucks.
@1st-lineequipment4 жыл бұрын
Taste is a personal choice. There have been many customers for both sides of which gas to use. Just because you prefer one does not mean everyone else will like the same, just like not everyone likes the coffee shop chain you mentioned.

1st-line Equipment Nitro coffee is infused with nitrogen, not nitrous oxide. You can call it a matter of taste but N20 is a half witted attempt at achieving what you get when you use nitrogen. Try a Nitro Press.

Super sorry, we are not beer experts. Hence, we are unsure of cross compatability. Although we assume there may be some differences with differing, but similar products, this is something you need to ask the manufacturer directly.
@punkfirefighter4 жыл бұрын
I would say no. The ukeg growler is a vessel, the nitro cold brewer actually has the internal components to allow the coffee to steep, the tap is also specific to nitrogen and not CO2. The Nitro and CO2 charger may also be a different sizes.

Couple of things might be happening. 1. Cold Brew requires nitrogen charges which are a different gas than beer which uses carbon dioxide cartridges. 2. Getting a cup of foam can be the result of OVER pressurizing the cold brew with your NO2. You may want to try dialing back the amount you infuse or how much pressure you pour at

We didn't mention how much because it depends on your taste, experimenting, and type of coffee.

It wasn't the edit. They should've mentioned that how much water you'll want to add will depend on the type of coffee and your personal taste preference. Would've taken all of about 4 seconds.

What's the point of coffee maker to make it more convenient you have to wait 24 hours you would think they have some technology that could actually speed that process up
@Deathlikesensation2 жыл бұрын
Cold brew takes 24 hours because as the name describes, its brewed in a cold temperature and not hot like traditional coffee. As a result, it takes much longer to extract all the flavor and caffeine from the beans, which also yields a stronger, more potent and full flavored beverage. The longer it brews for, the stronger the coffee. You cant speed up a process like this, it would be the same as saying "why cant you make wine in 24 hours and not several weeks."
@higurashianduminekoconnect17022 жыл бұрын
@@Deathlikesensation you do know what I mean by have some technology it means have some technology that can be cold enough quicker. You know to make it Brew faster. Did you think I was saying that a device that doesn't use cold to brew it and it just magically becomes cold brew? It's obvious I meant a device that's more convenient that speeds up the process not totally skips the process magically. Of course it still has to brew and cold temperatures that's obviously not what I meant. Lol

You and everybody else WarriorotCross. Don't buy directly from GrowlerWerks, they won't take it back. Maybe 1st-Line would, Amazon definitely will. This thing only produces a sad foam, like a beer tap pour...nitro infusion lasts seconds, and not minutes like a proper setup, there is no creaminess or taste change with this unit. Buy a real setup and make your own with a dorm fridge, nitrogen 20cu.ft tank, and 2.5gal keg with a tap and regulator. For literally $200 more than what this thing costs, you can have a legit pro setup that does what it should do. Good luck. Manufacturer of this thing should take it off the market.

LOL. We sold many in December after testing a sample inhouse. Guess how many return requests? ZERO. (Rant on) And btw...learn a 'little' about coffee before making recommendations. 2.5 gallons of cold brew coffee for a single user at home? Do you think it will taste good after a week? Not. Most independent coffee shops discard cold brew within 1-3 days. Why? Flavor. Mold or fungal build up. Why do you think the manufacturer recommends a cleaning regimen? (Rant off)
