Starbucks does not use N2 cartridges for their cold brew ,i was a shift supervisor. The company uses a fridge to store kegs that hold prechilled coldbrew those fridges are connect to a tap and a N2 compressor that extracts nitrogen from the air.. Starbucks uses CO2 cartridges for whipped creams.

tempting but at 200$ or more for the keg, then 1$ for the lesser N2O and the coffee grinds cost, then you gotta clean filter bags and a keg and have enough room for it in the fridge ect gotta keep all this stuff in stock at home starts to seem like a hassle and alot of upfront cost was a few amazon reviews complaining about it leaking out the nitrogen after a few batches aswell, i dont see why its priced in at 200$ its just a 64oz keg with a few fittings, if it catches on enough though a factory in china will rip it off and sell them for 60$

It's about volume, more liquid needs more gas to achieve a good level of integration of the gas. Those N2 cartridges are intended for iSi's 32 oz nitro cold brew maker, which I would recommend over this, but to each their own.

Yes there is a big difference between just regular cold brew (not nitro infused) and iced coffee. Iced coffee is still brewed hot, then iced, unless you ask for iced cold brew. It's less acidic tasting and I enjoy it a lot better... then you have nitro coffee which is a completely different animal! So good.

@RoyalBrewNitro2 жыл бұрын
yes Besides cold brew coffee, the Royal Brew Nitro Keg can be used to infuse lemonade, beer, iced tea, seltzer water and pretty much any of your favorite cold beverages! The only beverages we don’t recommend using in the Royal Brew Nitro Keg are those that contain small particles or chunks (orange juice with pulp, smoothies, drinks with seeds, etc.). Small particles can clog the tapping system. Also, avoid beverages that have been previously carbonated (beer and sodas). You can let beer or soda go flat before adding, if you would like to use them in the system. You can use any 8g CO2 cartridge to carbonate seltzer water or brewed beer that has not been bottle carbonated. You only need to use 8g CO2 cartirdge per batch of 42 oz of liquid

How long do you have to drink it? All in one sitting or can you put the keg back in the fridge for another day?
@c.j.echave11 ай бұрын
Mine seems to last about two days before the coffee starts to taste funny, my process is I'll start my cold brew ≈24 hours in advance and then pour it into the keg (over ice because I've heard the nitrous oxide bonds better when the liquid is cold), put in a cartridge and shake it up, and pour a cup. One cartridge generally gives enough pressure for the whole keg capacity from my experience, so I'll buy a box of 100 for like 50 bucks and it'll last me a few months before restocking (I don't drink coffee on weekends though so that's anecdotal).

Or you could use an electric frother and whole milk. Warm the milk up in the microwave or on stove top. Don't heat over 160 degrees or you burn the milk. I prefer about 130°. Add some raw sugar, stir and dissolve. Then you can let it cool and refrigerate. Make a batch about 20oz. Then when your ready to use just pour it into a glass and use the electric frother. Then you can spoon it on top of your cold brew and mix in if you like.

Why is my coffe tasting fizzy and sour after pouring it from the royal brew? I am very sad and disappointed because even when I use the Starbucks cold brew coffee it tastes like that. Nothing like buying at Starbucks. Please help!!!
@mapletem3 жыл бұрын
Are you using the right gas? It's supposed to "fizzy" but more on the creamy small fizz bubble side rather than a carbonated soda side. N2 shouldn't give you a change in flavor, at least from my experience, but I'm not so sure about N2O. Things you might want to look out for are 1) Your cold brew comes out tasting like how it wants to be before getting pressurized 2) Your cold brew is filtered properly before getting pressurized (This ensures that no excess coffee grounds gets further agitated or extracted, basically undesirable extraction from coffee grounds) 3) Your coffee to gas ratio may play a big part in this (eg my keg is 1/4 filled, putting in 1 charge of gas might not be sufficient at all due to the lack of built up pressure for mixing) 4) Where you store your coffee may affect the taste greatly as well

No. I have had one for 2 years, and only arrived at this video cause I just started using N2 instea dog n20. Piping hot water is all you need to clean it on the day to day, and every 2 weeks or so I actually use soap and brushes on the tank (rinse WELL). To clean the spout, I remove it, remove the tube, open the valve on the spout, and let the sink spray directly into the spout’s exit. The water will eventually geyser out the other side, rinsing it clean.
