The fridge test was awesome! Good to see that it can run your fridge during a short outage. Or, a 12v battery with an xt60 connector plugged into it, and it can ran for as long as the size of the battery you want to buy is! Very cool!

That refrig test is amazing. I know it is one of your regular tests. Thks for doing it! Your refrig is so much better than ours energy/surge wise. Our refrig has a surge over 2000W even though running Watts is 100-200W range when on. (That surge requires a "big" inverter vs its running needs.) One day we'll get a new one. :-)
@TechMadeEzy
@TechMadeEzy Ай бұрын
Thanks 🙏🏼 Wow 2,000w surge that’s insane, how much does it use when the compressor kicks on that’s usually even more?
@DYT-jx4jp
@DYT-jx4jp Ай бұрын
@@TechMadeEzy That 2000W+ is the compressor kicking on for that startup/surge second, then it drops immediately down to below 200W or less when running.

@DYT-jx4jp ok thanks but holly crap Batman that is a lot. How old is the refrigerator?
@DYT-jx4jp
@DYT-jx4jp Ай бұрын
@@TechMadeEzy Yep! It is about 18 yrs. (We have another refrig that is a few yrs newer. The surge on that one is a bit less but still huge compared to your refrig.) I'm so amazed by your refrig tests with the smaller battery/inverter units :-) The surge makes a huge difference on the inverter size needed. You've got a great refrig at least for backup battery needs! :-)

I ordered mine day one, and EcoFlow sent the 45w solar panel and the free Bag, but no River 3. EcoFlow says they are backordered, delayed 2 weeks out maybe. So far no written confirmation on delivery. Popular device for sure.

Impressive little unit. I have a an older 26 cu.ft. fridge that uses 115V and 7.2 amps to run. Your fridge is definitely more efficient than mine. My Inergy Apex won't run it. You gotta love ecoflow. Great video as usual.

Thanks for the info. I currently own an Anker C800 that I use as UPS to power a fridge similiar to yours in case of power outage. I left a bad review to anker because wifi is buggy and that if it dies, it does not reactivate the AC outlet leaving the fridge dead until you manually turn the AC outlet on the power station. I would appreciate to reviewers to test what the power station would do once it dies and power comes back. Same situation would be if you power your internet modem/routers with these power stations and after it dies, if it does not reactivate AC outlets then you will not be able to access your smart home if you are away, worse if it is located in a remote area.

Loved this video & subscribed, liked & shared. Love that you explained in lemon terms because I could not understand anyone else's videos & just confused me as I knew nothing about power banks, volts, watts, etc and I've been wanting to get one & you also explained solar panels perfectly & that $25 gadget. Since watching this video I am now confident & ready to buy one after a whole year of not understanding all this stuff after watching numerous videos of other creators & reading materials about it that only left me more confused & unsure. You are a FANTASTIC teacher & speaker. Your voice is extremely soothing & the perfect level of volume. This video now makes me so happy & ready to shop! Your extremely helpful.... It is a much better looking unit than the river 2 I never did like that handle that sticks out off of the back of the river 2, they still didn't put the 5521 ports back also is it just me or are they decreasing power a little bit every time they come out with a new unit? Pretty soon they won't have any power at all LOL

14:00 This seems ideal for the new "Starlink Mini" high speed satelite internet static/portable antenna. . You can place this outside, connected directly under a 100+ Watts solar panel (angled for maximum efficiency); getting enough protection from the Sun, wind, rain, hail & debris that its IP54 rate will handle the rest. . The Starlink Mini flat dish already comes with a very long power cable, so it can be placed much higher (top of a tower or tree); with its onboard router Wi-Fi signal reaching an extension/bridge unit also powered & placed next to this power station. -> This way during an outage it keeps providing internet to any wireless devices (like if nothing happened); losing less or even no battery power on daylight hours.

@adolfodef Ай бұрын
[quote] _"Starlink Mini is rated for 60 watts, but only needs about 40 watts at startup and 25-30 watts during normal operation... at about 12.7 volts, Starlink draws only about 2 amps."_ [/quote[

Only thing that could make it better is a contrasting co!or power button for low light and a storage for the cord would have been nice. The front blinking status LED is way too bright and annoying in the dark.

@@TechMadeEzy P.S. This is a nice little unit. I would buy it just for running my 12 Volt DC Electric Kettle alone, but apart from that it's so underpowered as to not be practical for most normal applications one might want a portable solar power station for.

I wished they added two features. One is a proximity sensor button to trigger the designated output dc or ac. So that you can connect a lamp that turns on when you enter the room. Second one is to put a thermometer on the unit and the battery. This can help to keep the lifepo4 safe when charging or discharging at critical cold or hot temperatures. I'm in generous feeling mood, so lets add few more. How about a clock to keep track of UPS triggers, and a log of activities whether it's charging, discharging, or wireless configuration setting. This way these devices can hold strong resale value.

39:00 This is interesting. . It seems it can handle "outdoors" as long as it is never under direct Sunlight (because it is black, it may get over 50°C at noon); as well as protected from direct rain/splashes. -> The protection score for the batteries suggest that it can keep working connected & operating as long as it NOT freezing (less than 0°Celsius); with a small tolerance for a few hours of a "cold morning" slightly under freezing IF the unit is charging or discharging at ~100+ Watts (but NOT safe if without a constant load, or "in equilibrium" from input & consumers); since the flow of chemical power generates some heat.
@adolfodef

A stirofoam "box" that is 5+ inches bigger on each dimension (easy to be made at home from the pieces from other packaged products like a TV) can provide enough protection from the elements. -> Completely open on the "front", closed "behind" & with "windows" for ventilation on the sides.

The real insanity is that your newer fridge is very efficient. My old 15 plus fridge would run on my river 2 pro when I plugged in my old fridge and it ran the compressor, but after the compressor cycled off then back on, the river 2 pro shut down. The shut down was so fast I couldn't see the surge. Congratulations on your fridge... I'll keep it in mind when my old fridge dies
