do you have to remove the visco lock? I mean its simple enough to remove but what does instruction say leave it on or take it off. Must have some affect if it should be removed and wasn't
@cnw4x44 жыл бұрын
Hey bud what are those clutches made of? I want to add a few fabricated plates to the clutch pack to see if it will lock up better before I attempt a $400 part. I know the torq locker is proven, but I would just like to try to beef up the torq locker.

I’m not thinking about getting this yet I’m new to can ams and having some issues rn clunking sound when in 4wd going a constant 8 mph or around in the river would you be looking at the visco lock? If it end a up being it I might go with this but needing to know first

Also like to know about advantage of removing viscoloc
@sweatlodgegarage81955 жыл бұрын
Shane Carew from my experience, not much of an advantage for disabling the Viscoloc, if it’s making weird noises or doesn’t work right then might as well but for heavy throttle use and high speeds, i find it works fine. it’s the slow technical riding that it falls quite short on.

Hey theoretically can't you just weld the front spider gears to basically make it have a diff lock? I've done it on my truck and it works great!
@TorqMastersIndustries6 жыл бұрын
Motor Mania yes you can, But you will likely break your axle shafts and will have a super hard time turning if you weld the spiders - which would function like a Spool. The TORQ Locker is a true locker, it allows for wheel speed differentiation when you are turning, making it easier to turn.

Torq-Masters Industries What's the difference between your locker and the halo locker? I saw a vid of one with electronic engagement and thought that was pretty cool
@TorqMastersIndustries6 жыл бұрын
The biggest difference between the Halo and the TORQ is $1000+. Both are high quality made in the USA products. The TORQ Locker is a mechanical, automatic Locker, it works automatically when in 4wd. The Halo is either a Spool (both front axles spin at the same speed which can have some negative effects) or an open differential, like 3wd. The TORQ Locker is a true locker that allows for wheel speed differentiation when you are turning and off the throttle and in 4wd. To turn the TORQ Locker off, simply switch into 2wd. The Halo has the added feature to be turned on and off manually by a switch, while in 4wd. Right now the Halo has a 3 month warranty and the TORQ Locker has a 4 year warranty. Feel free to hit us up via email or phone anytime with more questions. Info@ torqmasters.com

Is it recommended to disable the visco like you did in the video?
@donaldsykes32263 жыл бұрын
really on the fence about buying this. any disadvantages to leaving the visco components in there if they aren't broken?
@TorqMastersIndustries3 жыл бұрын
Yes, most people will have issues with the Visco interfering with the locker. Symptoms are loud popping noises in the differential and random steering lock up in 2WD. We can not guarantee the locker will operate correctly if you leave the Visco in.

I have a dumb question. How the heck do you get the vent hose off the front cover of the stock diff??
@TorqMastersIndustries4 жыл бұрын
Sticky buggers aren't they? You could use a blow torch to quickly heat it up, but don't burn it. or you could cut the vent tube off and install one of our bellows kits (a better solution anyways) available on our website. PM me if you would like a link.

Can I simply installed the blue shims regardless, or is it required to be precision measured?
@TorqMastersIndustries6 жыл бұрын
Josh B - most customers don't need the blue washers. If you don't need them, but install them anyways, the Locker may not perform correctly. The center gap measurement is very important. You can pick up a dial caliper or digital caliper for $12 off Amazon. It's a good tool to have.

Thank you for the quick reply. I will definitely pick one up to make sure everything is correct.

Hi, question for you guys. i have a 2020 outlander 850 and i am interested in getting one of these torq lockers but im afraid that it might not work good at high speeds? I have 28" zillas and enjoy some mudding but i mainly want one so i have all 4 tires spinning for winter riding and for when in a technical area u dont have to wait for the stupid visco crap. Do these lockers work okay at higher speeds if u are in 4 wheel drive like in winter driving 40mph? Are they really noisy? thanks for any help.
@TorqMastersIndustries4 жыл бұрын
High speeds are no problem. Check out the KZbin channels: Eh TV NOS ATV These guys ride hard and fast.

@@TorqMastersIndustries yeah i watch both of them. They ride mud 90% of the time i ride trails 75% of the time. Just want all 4 wheels when i need them. Thanks for the reply i will look into picking one up this spring.

What is the failure in the Visco lock that makes a popping/clunking noise? I was in a mud hole this weekend and as the visco engaged, I heard a popping/clunking noise in the diff.
@TorqMastersIndustries Жыл бұрын
The ViscoLok clutches can wear out and fail. You can see the clutches at 4:18 in the video.

Is it only the front I’d have to worry about ? The rear as I understand are locked already ?
@TorqMastersIndustries3 жыл бұрын
You are correct, the rear is a spool. The front differential is a Visco Lok limited slip. The TORQ Locker will change your Can-Am from 3WD to true 4WD when you shift into 4WD. In 2WD it will be just like stock.

How does it work once visco lok is removed and torq locker installed do u still use the 4 wheel drive button I'm looking to get rid of my visco lok cause it sounds and works like $hit !
@TorqMastersIndustries Жыл бұрын
Yes you still use 2wd and 4wd. In 2wd the vehicle will act just like stock 2wd. In 4wd you will have the locker to pull you through obstacles. Both front tires will always spin in 4WD.

How come you guys don't explain if its an auto locker or not? If it is it has it all over your competition..
@TorqMastersIndustries6 жыл бұрын
Yes, the TORQ Locker is an automatic locker that provides torque to both front axles. It also allows for wheel speed differentiation through ratcheting when you turn.
@redneckswitwheels5 жыл бұрын
It also breaks the tip of the axle off inside of the dif.
@alphapackoffroad4 жыл бұрын
@@redneckswitwheels I have been running my torq locker in my Outlander 1000xt for a year or two now and have never had an issue with it.
