Josh, I really enjoy your reviews and actually based my purchase of this unit largely on your review. I do need to share what happened to me after the purchase. Others may gains some value and at least be more informed. Purchased this pressure washer on 10/20/23. Used it once... Worked great. No serious issues. Good pressure, did not overheat, TSS pressure system worked reasonably well but need to make sure no small leaks in hose and connections or the unit will cycle a lot. After use, was putting the unit away in my car and I caught the TSS switch on the edge of the car and it cracked the switch housing. This is the most delicate part of the pressure washer and it is not protected with any guard. If this unit were to roll over or be hit by something else or your hose got hung up and tangled, I can see this part getting damaged. I am not blaming "Active" for the damage whatsover (Other than that switch is not very well guarded and is plastic) However, I reached to them to purchase a replacement part. I emailed them and called and spoke to a support rep. I received this response a short time ago: I checked with the tech team and manager, and unfortunately, we don't have this part available, and we're not sure if it will be available in the near future. Let me know if you'd like to buy another 2.0; I can offer a 15% discount. Best Regards, Customer Support, ACTIVE PRODUCTS I was a bit surprised for such an expensive product that they have no parts or support. Obviously, this is a very, very big disappointment to me. As you can see from the photo I have included, I just purchased this unit three weeks ago, paid $369 and the unit is basically junk now because Active cannot replace what is likely a $20 piece of plastic. My goal with this review is not to air out my issue with the merchant, my goal is to put anyone on notice that if they are purchasing this product, Active does not seem willing to replace any parts but will be quick to offer you to buy another unit. I can understand this type of response with a $79 Harbor Freight electric pressure washer, but this purchase for me was significantly researched and I looked at it as an investment into a really high quality machine. If this unit does break, and it is not covered by warranty, you will be at risk losing your $350 + investment. Too bad. At this price point, basic parts should be available. As you can see from the photo, it is very specialized and as I said the weakest link of the unit. From what I have seen and brainstormed, I have no way to workaround it.... HAVING SAID ALL OF THIS, I am not blaming you or your review. I appreciate all your information and detailed review. I just thought this would be reasonable to add for anyone that may be considering this unit. In addition, I am open to any ideas you may have about how I might gain some value out of something that is essentially a boat anchor now..... :(
@imjoshv Жыл бұрын
Oh man that is terrible. I’m so sorry to hear that and thanks for posting that to bring awareness. Yeah that piece breaking is unfortunate but I would hope that there was solution for it. When you get into the serviceable units like the kranzle, or ar630 then they have repairable components but those units are much more expensive. Send me a picture of where yours broke to dtlrsupply@gmail.com and I’ll see if I can think of a solution for you
@smittyss49789 ай бұрын
Hope you found a solution to your problem. From what I can see this TSS switch appears to be a pressure switch. I figure it turns the electric motor on when the trigger is pulled (pressure drops) and motor off when trigger is released (pressure increases). Looks like you would be able to find an aftermarket switch with the same psi rating and connections.

The size, the power, compressor only turning on for demand, etc. Very impressive! Thanks for your vids, they are def making a difference for us consumers. keep it going brother!!!!
Great review! Yes, when you double the length of the hose, you will double your friction loss. That accounts for the pressure decrease. If you put your pressure guage at the beginning of the hose, you will see the same pressure regardless of the hose length. However, that would not accurately tell you the performance at the nozzle. It would only demonstrate the loss.

I got my 2.0 the other week to replace my VE-52. Nothing wrong with the VE-52, but I wanted to try out the new unit. Finally got a chance to use it a couple of times this weekend, and I really like it. It does have a little bit of motor wind-down after releasing the trigger that I hadn't noticed on the VE-52, but I appreciate the fact that they went to a more standard hose connection over the VE-52 so I don't need an adapter, and I also like the fact that you can purchase this unit without any accessories to save on the price for those who are going to be using their own hose and guns. Overall, my first impressions of the unit after a couple of uses are really positive, and I'm hoping I'll be as happy with the 2.0 as I have been with the VE-52.

@@SnowBeltDetails It's been doing well, but being I live in the northeast, where it's currently winter, I haven't used it since last November or so. So far, so good though. I didn't notice a big difference between this and the VE52, but the unit is more compact, and I like the fact that I don't have to use a bunch of adaptors in order to use my aftermarket accessories (the 2.0 has standard fitting sizes). Overall, I'd say I like the 2.0 a little better, but I really didn't have any complaints with my VE52, and I certainly wouldn't hesitate to recommend that model to anyone who is interested in it.

I’m still on the OG Josh setup… Ryobi, Uberflex and MJJC. The Ryobi works but it’s annoyingly loud. I’m upgrading this year. The Active 2.3 coming out at $650 and the AR at $800 are a tough pill to swallow… but the 2.0 can be had for $300 right now. Might have to snag one. My fear with the 2.0 is the high pitched noise. I want something quieter. Wondering how it compares to the Ryobi. Great stuff Josh!

I've had the same Ryobi in this video for over 3 years now using it in my mobile detailing business. I make over 100k a year. Has yet to fail me but I did just upgrade to the Active. Now I do have my gas power washer that does a phenomenal job. With winter coming and my garage is only heated when I'm out there so the gas one is a pain in the keister. I've been looking for an electric one. That way I can drain my hoses and bring the unit into the warm house. I have a setup in our utility room. Got big shelving units and that's where I keep all my batteries and all the chargers for my tools. And this will fit nicely right there next to all of it. I most definitely gave you a big old thumbs up and of course I'm already I subscriber. Looking forward to your next video.

Hi Josh. I purchased the Active 2.0 along with the hose and the MJJC Foam Cannon. So far I've used it 3 times, and all 3 times the foam was very runny. The Active has a tag on it that reads, " Please refrain from using a 1.1 orifice as it can damage the motor ," Thoughts?

Hey Josh I have the Uberflex you are showing and it is amazing as I was using it with a Dewalt 2.1 psi. I have the Active 2.0 and I read on youtube and elsewhere that it causes the Active 2.0 to surge and it has killed few units. Active recommends to use a steel braided hose ?? Can you please elaborate on that as I am afraid to connect the Uberflex and I am "stuck" with OEM 25" Active hose

Great video as always. I'm still waiting for a video on the deionized tank setup you have in the corner of the garage. Keep the knowledge flowing.

Great review. Do you ever notice any back pressure build up whenever you release the trigger on your spray gun? I'm noticing it happen on my Sun Joe and think it might be time for an upgrade.

Hey Josh do you prefer the active 2.0 or the adam's pro pressure washer? I'm debating which one to get from the two.

This pressure washer looks amazing. Is the 2.0 worth the extra money? The 1.0 seems like a good unit.

Hey @imjoshv how does this work with a gravity fed water tank? Does the pump on this unit help with gravity fed tanks? Thank you.

For a mobile detailing business with a $400 budget for the machine itself and not scaled up enough to consider a AR or Kranzle, really questioning this due to lack of serviceability why spend ~$325 to buy this with a residential-use-only 2 yr warranty when I can just get a Ryobi 1800 or Karcher K1700 cube with a 3mm orifice for less than half and a no-questions-asked 3yr/10yr warranty? I see a lot of bad reviews on the Karcher but are these people even trying to use the warranty? I just turrned in my ryobi for a new one at home depot when it started failing. took 15 minutes didn't even need my receipt, so the unit is basically free. As I understand it the Active 2.0 is better for personal home detailing but the Karcher is better for small mobile detailers?

I’m going to be honest I need to see it used with a 50 ft hose because I had issues with 2 different cat washers with my 50 ft flex zilla

I did attach it in the video to test the specs but agreed that time will tell if it really handles it. I’m going to be setting it up in one of my mobile detail trucks to see how it holds up

Should I be getting a 4.0 orifice size for all my pressure washer tips?
@Michael-t3b5b10 ай бұрын
The manufacturer uses a 5/16 hose if you buy it from them and they say that gives you the 2.0 flow at about 1000-1100 psi. Maybe your different results are due to using a 1/4 hose?

Great video How good is this pump can it be paired with a water tank without a pump? The Kranzle can sit 1 meter “above” the water tank and still suck in water no problem.

what do you recommend for someone starting out? What type of pressure washer gas or electric and being that you will need an air compressor for mobile are you better off going gas. what type of gun chemicals maybe from chemical guys and i know you mention mjjc also what type of carpet steamer. I am basically looking for agood products to have but not to pricey.
