Detailing an Insect Head in ZBrush with Custom Brushes

In this tutorial, I'm going to show you how to quickly blockout an insect head and then I'll walk you through how I use the brushes from the Insect Detailing pack to add intricate patterns in ZBrush.

I was like damn that is too expensive, then I saw this video and like damn it fits my project creature perfectly (alien type creature I wanted to chitin like armor/skin on)! //opens up wallet....*****@*!! lol. you can only do so much with the standard brushes.

This brushes looks amazing, like everything you do. If you don't mind I got a question, I've been learning zbrush the last few weeks and now I'm deciding which software should I should for rendering, I'm a big fan of your work and I see you use very different softwares: Maverick, Marmoset, Keyshot... Which one do your recommend the most? I want to make renders for concept and I want them to look as pretty as possible. Thank you :)

Cheers! glad you like the brushes ;) - For rendering I think I used Maverick the most but for simplicity I would recomment Marmoset as it is very easy to use and you can get amazing renders there. You could also give Blender Cycles a go which is free and absolutely fantastic or try the integration of the new ZBrush 2023 with RedShift render

What setting in zbrush allows the alpha of the brush to go over the same area and not get distortion while using any pressure and any direction?

i think i figured it out, it is the thick skin with appropriate thickness.

Where are the alphas of the brushes?

they are part of the brushes. Make sure you have the version of ZBrush that says in the brushes page. If you load them into older or previous versions that what I used to create them, the brushes won't load properly (or missing alphas)
