When I detail my bike I use a leaf blower , to blow out the water in any crevasses.That what your bolts and other stuff don't begin to rust!

Blower is necessary bro? Can't we just clean with clothe ?
@SportSoulLife4 жыл бұрын
@@RaviKumar-uy8ss I use the bigboi buddi A microfiber towel will absolutley do the trick, but a blower is safer on the paint, prevents rust on bolts (only an estethic problem) and prevents waterspots from water seeping out of crevasses. Drying the paint is the only part of the washing with no lubrication (shampoo) so it has the highest risk of scratching and marring the paint. Water in the crevasses can seep out leaving waterspots on the paint. The (in my opinion) the best method is: 1. rinse the bike with a pressure washer (always from a good distance away, about 70-100 cm) 2. a coat of foam, let sit for a few minutes 3. rinse again with pressure washer 4. Using either foam or a wash bucket with shampoo, clean the bike with a microfibre washmitt, making sure to rinse it frequently in a second bucket with clean water. 5. Rinse with pressure washer 6. Blowdry 7. Apply wax, sealant or any other product you use with a microfibre cloth. I have a MT-10 so drying it with a microfibre cloth actually takes more time than with a blower, and its impossble to get it as thoroughly dry with a cloth.

what about the fuel tank?? i noticed my bike if fell a side the fuel can come out from the tank from the cover. What if the water can go in as well??
@kofi49274 жыл бұрын
@@zikryhydzir6068 that's probably the breather hoses. It's designed to do that so the carburetor doesn't dump fuel into the cylinders when the bike's on its side. This should only happen on a carb, if your bike is fuel injected and it leaks, there might be a puncture or a crack somewhere. Or a leaking fuel line. If you're wondering why this doesn't happen when cornering, it's due to centrifugal forces.

This is a quick cleaning method, tho it can't be good for rust prevention, electrical connection corrosion and grease contamination for the wheel and chain bearings. I feel like an air compressor and waterless wash spray would be best. I guess you could just replace all the bolts, bearings and electrical connection when they fail. Depends how much time you have I guess.

Some fool who thinks bike electronics will mess up when they get wet. I've had my 17 triumph Daytona 675 for 2 years since new 24k miles wash it similarly, no issues whatsoever.
@ivicastanic36054 жыл бұрын
Cleaning a motorcycle using water should be avoided unless you stack in the mud or something like that. Pouring water over instrument claster and switches are very bad idea. You can bet that you will experience all kind of electric problems very soon.
@Viper38707504 жыл бұрын
Not true at all. Motorcycles are designed to be ridden in the rain and come out just fine. The only cautions you need to take when washing a bike are to avoid using excessive water pressure if using a pressure washer, avoid shooting the water at unnatural angles (rain falls from top to bottom, not bottom to top) and minimize the amount of water that gets into the exhaust. Then it's just a matter of drying it to the best of your ability.
