We Found Gold, Platinum, Silver, AND Diamonds at this beach!!!

Follow along for another incredible metal detecting adventure!! Today, I drove north to Saint Petersburg where there was a report of a lost diamond ring. I couldn't believe all of the amazing things that we found at this beach!!!

I helped a lady recover her gold wedding ring last weekend, what a feeling! I know why you do it! She gave me an area she thought she had lost it in and in about 30sec or less I had the ring for her. I'm hooked on doing recovery now, its a rush helping others in need! Another great video Sean!!!

I know the ring is platinum, but many Sterling Silver rings have semi-precious stones. I have one that has Larimar, which I love! Women sometimes use them as props to post manis.

Question: are you able to give a rough ratio of how many valuable items you find a couple of feet in the water versus on dry and wet sand?

No, because I primarily hunt the water. I only hunt the wet/dry sand when I'm doing a recovery or if I drove really far to a location and the water is too rough. It's not that there's more valuable items in the water, its just that the trash to treasure ratio is usually better

Wouldn’t it be better instead of round holes in your scoop it was squared holes… when I look, it looks like a lot of rings? I think I would paint it a color that didn’t look metallic. Great videos, thanks!

The problem with painting it is that sand is incredibly abrasive. The paint would stay on there for about 20 minutes. As far as the holes go, they do make scoops with square holes, but geometrically speaking, square shapes are inherently weak. Circles are the strongest shapes. Plus, when you have internal corners in the holes, shells like to get stuck in them. When I first got into detecting, I had a scoop with square holes. That was the first piece of equipment to get sold and upgraded to one with circles! haha

The ring had belonged to his mother. He gave it to Debby as a promise. After thinking it was gone forever and then getting it back, he took it as a sign that it needed to be more than a promise, and proposed with it 😄

The paint would last for about 1 or two scoops. A company released powder coated scoops(stronger than paint), and they very quickly realized that sand is incredibly abrasive and instantly removes it
