Great Dad Joke battle! LOL 😂 Goodwill is definitely not for the under privileged to shop. Most of the ones we go to think they are high end boutiques any more. I get they are raising money for their mission (and CEO) but they are really out of touch with reality. Thrifting is big now for our younger generations. My daughters 24 and 28 hardly buy new any more and jut buy from thrift stores. Obviously the thrift stores have picked up on this trend and they are taking full advantage of it. You can still find some deals at places like Goodwill, but you have to search. Thanks for the great video! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family!

Just going off title without watching: Thrift stores aren’t even close to garage sales in my experience. But in my area I’m lucky enough there’s so many garage sales that I can usually go Thursday,Friday and Saturday from 8-5ish and sometimes Wednesdays/sundays. If you live somewhere where garage sales are only on Saturday mornings and it’s rare to have big community or city wide sales then you might think differently.

It's rare to find decent hard good at my local thrift stores because anything worth even $20 is going online. Clothing at Goodwill is the only stuff where the cream isn't skimmed and priced individually.

It's funny because the stuff that doesn't sell online ends up back in our stores. Makes me wonder how much money they lost sending it back and forth, paying someone to take pictures, and paying someone to list it. They probably could have put it in the store to begin with at a reasonable price and made just as much.

@@flippymcflipperson Thrift stores have the right to put stuff online, but it should only be items that will sell auction style for near $50. It doesn't make sense to pay someone to clean, research, picture, list, warehouse, pick, and ship a $25 buy it now item that may take a year to sell. They'd be better off just putting it in the store for $10. IMO, they've reached peak greed and are starting to realize what I'm saying.

I stopped thrifting years ago when the once thrift stores became thieves taking donated items and selling at almost retail prices. When they started yanking out collectibles for their corporate websites, was the second dagger. When biden lowered the 1099-k to $600 I was finished. I sold one bong from the 1970s for $400 plus dollars and that was in January 2024. So the rest of the year, my hobby which I loved to do, was over. I honestly can't blame 100% on corporate thrift stores, for all they had to do was watch the youtubes of people bragging of what they found.
