This week on The New Detectives - An Elderly woman is pulled from the merky waters of a rural pond in Alabama, a few scraps of evidence are all that investigators have to link her with her killer. In Texas, a body of a woman swept away in a flash flood is found down stream, can forensic scientist wash away deception and find proof of murder. A car crash on a country road in Wisconsin claims a woman's life, detectives must go through evidence to prove her death was no accident.

My mother-in-law took away my husband's inheritance that his father meant for him to have but thank God my husband was Not the Killing Type but he did die penniless and still struggling, in fact so am I. My good husband of fifty years is gone to heaven now. God bless him. I get by on Social Security living alone. We both worked 22 years on the Family Farms giving our Blood Sweat and Tears and ended up with his 80-acre inheritance stolen by his mother and his sisters.

Yah, I laughed out loud when the one (Domingo Turo, Cuban immigrant,) in Ft. Worth said he may have strangled her when he was trying to save her from drowning. How did the interviewer keep from laughing at the vomit that guy was spewing out?! Notice in so many of these cases, the murderers kill people, and then think they're gonna sit there in the same jurisdiction and watch everything w/o getting caught! I would think crime rule number 1 is to keep moving; that is how all the notorious serial killers escape capture for so long.

I will never understand what makes a person think that they can demand that a person stay with them that does not want to stay with them. Then think they have the right to take that person's life because they don't want to be with them. A decision I came to if a person son husband whoever comes to a conclusion about you and they want to keep arguing let them go arm yourself and get away from them. Secure your house so they cannot easily break in. Don't fall for let's talk let's go to dinner be watching when you come out of the house. Never threaten about removing from wills or cutting of money just do it and don't tell them.

@@kenyattaclay7666 Justifying the look of the actor by making conjectures that the mom could have given birth at 15 doesn't cut it. I have never seen an old person who looks older than his/her parents unless the latter is very sick. Aging is aging and grown children in their 50s or 60s would not look like the spouse of an 85 yr old. I don't know your age but look at your pictures every decade and if you reach 80, compare those pics with your 80 yr old self.

Why do people expect to inherit anything? The murder victim in the first part of the video was married to her first husband for over fifty years. Whatever money or other material possessions accumulated during that time is her's upon her husband's death. Unless the son was left something in his father's will he isn't entitled to anything. He should have worked to accumulate his own possessions instead of trying to live off what his parents accumulated over a lifetime . Inheritance is a gift not something you should count on. You should be happy that you were remembered by the deceased and be grateful for what you inherited. But if you don't inherit anything it was the deceased decision and you shouldn't be mad about it.

In the last one, why did the husband's mother not leave the children at her son's house? She knew the childrens' mother would be coming to collect them in accordance with the Court Order. Was she a conspirator with him in this murder? She didn't get on with Darlene. I think his mother did conspire with her violent son in the murder of her daughter in law, and she should have been charged as an accessory and spent years in jail as an accomplice. There was no excuse for her not to have brought the children back in time. I'm surprised the Police didn't question her. I am surprised that Darlene let him get in her car, but it seems more likely that he pushed his way in when she said she'd drive to his mother's to pick up the children. I'm also surprised that she would go to his on her own: better to take one of her family or friends with her. Incidentally, since the childrens' father was violent and abusive, why did the Law allow him to have partial custody of the children? He would certainly have been violent to them as well at some point, because habitually he turned to violence when he didn't get his own way, like so many men. People don't change and it always amazes me that anyone even believes that such abusers ever will change. He proved by this murder that he was a psychopath. I hope the children hated their father and his family for the murder of their mother.

The last info I found on him, he had appealed the verdict about 3 or 4 times, the last appeal being in 2006 (it was dismissed because the statute of limitations for the particular type of filing Turro made had past before he'd appealed). In one of those, the verdict was overturned on appeal because the judge decided that the jury couldn't have found Turro guilty "beyond a reasonable doubt", but then a higher court (I guess the DA's office appealed the judge's ruling) and that judge ruled that the earlier judge basically had no business trying to second guess the jury's ability to come to a determination of guilt and so sent the appeal back to the earlier judge with instructions to be mindful of that. From what I could make out of it all, it looks like the case was retried, but the defendant was again found guilty (I think that was 1998). I couldn't find any inmate record of him in the TX DOC inmate search, though, which probably means he was paroled (the search only covers current inmates).

Time and again people get murdered by ex spouses / partners - the one thing that would greatly help is ....................distance ................if leaving the state/city is not feasible keeping personal distance is possible. Picking up and handing over of children should be done via intermediaries (grandparents / siblings / friends) if that is not practical - make the exchanges in public places e.g. a well populated shopping centre.
