i remember playing this for the first time. the opening credits didn't roll until after chapter 3 homecoming when you get rescued by the miller's daughter. that's when i realized this was going to to be a legendary experience.

Wow thanks for the reminder. I remember during my first play through the game convinced me Hans was an asshole. Then it dismantles that during the prey quest, and you’re best buds. I really liked how reasonable of a guy Sir Radzig was as well. Can’t wait for KCD2

I am replaying it right now after years. I will say, the game has a bit of an odd intro, Henry goes unconscious twice and is saved twice in the beginning, when you feel the game's intro will end, it goes on for another 2 hours. But when the game gets going, it is amazing and it is a lot of fun.

@@matheus.bueno47yeah I’m with you dawg, hailing the beginning of the first game as epic and legendary is a vast exaggeration lmao. By far the weakest part of the game and sadly something many players likely never got past. Like imagine you play through the entire intro and then accidentally activate the woman’s lock quest immediately you could spend 15 hours doing legitimately nothing before even picking up a sword to equip in your inventory that is definitely not most players idea of a good time.

hmmm.... i dont remember that part about letting Timmy go... In fact, I never met that bandit. I simply told those nice companions of his where to find him and was welcomed to the rebels, fighting for the correct king! Then all died from food poisoning for some reason...

I did the same. Never preordering again have been my way for years as gaming companies no longer really care about good games and content. But with this I did an exception. As I knew I had to play it, even if it by some way managed to have fallen prey to greed and bad optics to. Can't wait to see where the story goes.

Just going to point out some minor corrections 2:43 Theresa did not tip off the Talmberg soldiers, they arrived only by chance...she even tells you that if it wasn't for them arriving when they did that you would both be dead in a conversation at the Rattay Mill. My guess is that they arrived after it was discovered that you absconded from Talmberg Castle, I mean, it wouldn't have taken a mind reader to figure out where you were headed. At 3:28 word of Henry's survival didn't reach Sir Radzig, he knew Henry survived from the night that he and his men escaped the siege when he talked with him briefly while they were on the way to Rattay, that said in that scene shown he also wasn't summoned. Henry went to Rattay Castle to inform Sir Radzig of what happened to the sword that his father forged for him. Henry was chastised for his foolish risk he took and made aware that his actions not only put himself at risk, but also the men under Sir Divish's command (including Sir Robard) who came to his rescue.

Ive owned the game since the day one release and It took til this year for me to finally buckle up and get back onto my original save on KCD, play through all the side quests and DLCs, and beat it for the first time and its still one of the best RPGs ever made in my book. Yeah, it's got some rough edges, but nothing super immersion breaking or broken. I won't spoil anything, but Henry conversation after the final big battle almost made a tear.

I was looking for this video. I played KCD 1 pretty much 100%, every side thing and nook of the map. However, I did so when the game came out. Long time ago. And just wanted to refresh of things before getting into KCD 2. So thanks. Would have loved a small part about becoming a "mayor" and having to rebuild the bandit camp and gets to live there and build buildings and get tax. Loved that part when it came out.

I do not know how long the story for KCD takes in lore, but it feels like Henry does and experiences a lot in a very short amount of time.

Nice video, although it needs to be said that this is just a description of a specific playthrough. The Uzhitz investigation alone can already happen in at least four different ways, for instance if you fail to convince Pater Godwin, you may actually get the info about Reeky from the Rattay scribe instead. so while this video gives a broad idea about the story, it might evolve quite differently in parts, depending on the player's decisions.

There is one minor error in this. During the Homecoming chapter where Theresa interrupts the goons from stabbing you it was just great timing that the soldiers showed up after she called out. She didn't talk to the soldiers until after they got there and ran off the goons. She was fully prepared to lose her life and had given up on living right up till seeing Henry being attacked. You'll see this information if you play the dlc "Woman's Lot" I believe it was called

I really didn’t have the time to play such a complex game when the first one came out. It was with a heavy heart that I uninstalled it. Now, I have decided to commit to the sequel, since the buzz around it is so great and everyone loved the first one. Plus it seems to be free of all the political baggage and controversy that so many people seem to want to split the world with. I am working my way through Stalker 2 and then plan to play Indiana Jones And The Great Circle, but this will be next on my list, shunting Alan Wake 2 back to some time closer to next Christmas. Really appreciate this synopsis. Though I’m sure they will have made this version accessible to newcomers, it’s always way better to know the lore. You did a really great job with this. Thank you.
