thanks! I did follow the 18week 55 mile peak plan from Pfitzinger. I'm sure having good shoes and staying injury free helped. Also lucked out and it was a perfect autumn morning the day of the race, I also realize maybe I may have some natural potential for it as well, not to say it wasn't difficult though. Also used a Garmin pace pro plan on race day. So I knew exact splits to hit for each km adjusted for elevation. And how many seconds overall I was behind or ahead. Let me focus on just the current km when running and then just trust that I would hold our till the end.

Amazing improvement, huge congrats. Low volume training has worked great for me as well. I BQ’d on my 1st marathon and just re-qualified in Boston on 3/days/wk and only hitting mid-30mi/wk in my training, but I’m a lot older than you so probably comparable to your training age-graded. You obviously trained and raced very smartly. Martha

It was great meeting you briefly in the Wave A start of the race, Seth! I arrived to the start line about 30 minutes before the horn, which for this race is pretty normal, hoping to be able to chat with you briefly. I knew I wasn't going to be able to do the post-race meet-up jog, so this was my only shot. 20 minutes to go. 10 minutes to go. No Seth. National Anthem. No Seth. With each passing minute, the wave filling up with more and more runners, making it harder to spot you. With 5 minutes to go, I gave up and told myself I missed my chance and I had to focus. Suddenly, I see this short guy in a white singlet in front of me cutting across the wave of runners, getting to the front row. Even with four minutes before the start of the race, when most runners are getting in the zone (which is to be expected), you were kind enough to let me say hello and pause for a brief chat. To me, just those 15 seconds where you let me tell you how much I enjoyed your content, that spoke volumes of the type of person you are. All smiles, laughing, saying "Thank You" with a race moments away. What I didn't get to say is the reason I enjoy your content is priorities: Family comes before running. True Love + your boys > running. Thanks for all you do for the sport and DGR, and I pray you have a great race in New York.

@@darrel.cooper yeah realise but what does that really mean I am thinking to myself. His HM PB is 65 something but ran 69 here. So was the aim to run this HM as fast as he could on the day or was it some sort of marathon effort/pace test he can't so easily do back home.
